I had the Shrimp Tacos two weeks ago and was violently ill all night long with stomach cramps, diarrhea, and vomiting. I couldn’t eat for four days. Then my friend went last week to the 41st Ave. location. I had warned her but she had the Shrimp Tacos anyway. She also was sick with food poisoning all night and is still recovering. Please take my advise. It is not worth getting food poisoning!

My fiancé always bring me here when he wants some Mexican food while in Santa Cruz. They always greet you nicely and the food is always ready quickly. After people are done eating they clean it up right away. I always get something different and I am never disappointed. This visit I got the super quesadilla.

I have been going here since they opened 20 something years ago. I still think their Burritos are the best around and the service is always prompt. A great place to pick up a quick dinner.

It’s no Rigoberto’s violent burrito at 215am on a Saturday morning, but as far as hole in the wall burrito shops go, this gets you through. Decent salsa bar, but the chips were stale. Carne asada burrito was perfectly made to order, flavorful, moist rice, good beans and light cheese.

Food was fresh, and everything was expected with our cheese enchiladas and chicken quesadilla. The salsa bar would be enhanced if there were a few spicier selections. Service was very fast and friendly.

Let’s start by saying the chips were stale the salsa was disgusting like I’ve never had salsa that tastes so horrible. I ordered a combination plate of chicken taco and a chicken and cheese enchilada no flavor the chicken was good but no flavor like it was tender chicken the sauce on the enchiladas was not very tasty and it didn’t taste fresh I would not recommend this place to anyone I’m not from here so this was my first time here in all the good reviews I don’t understand however they are very clean all I smell is cleaning products but I particularly would not want to smell cleaning products while I’m eating I give customer service for stars

Great al pastor however new menu does not list meat choices for the especial plates. Still good size portions but should include free refills as syrup for sodas is below any feasible nominal cost less than the cup costs. I was in restaurant supply for a few years. Also should get soft ice cream machine would make a killing in profit.

My son and his fiancée got food to go from the 89341st Ave location on NYE12÷31÷15. Both were up all night with food poisoning — vomiting and diarrhea! Spare yourselves!

I wish the guy wouldn’t say«and then» after everything I order. There burritos are not number 1 in Santa Cruz! More like number five. I only give it four stars because it’s a two minute walk.

There aren’t enough stars on my keyboard for this place. My kids and I eat here 3 – 4 times per week. It’s our home away from home. We’ve been loyal regulars for over 10 years. When we are traveling, we always talk about how much we miss their chicken super burritos… it’s the first meal we have when we return! BEST. FOOD. EVER.

The«super burrito» is perfect to split in half and share. The downsides to this place is the flavorless chips, how pricey some items are and paying for refills. But overall I enjoy coming to this place solely for the burritos.

Came here for dinner and this place was busy! I liked the décor(murals) and I scarfed down the tasty veggie burrito! The tables weren’t the cleanest and the salsas could use a little more kick.

Love it or hate it, a local institution. Very inexpensive and generous portions. Super Tacos are a full plate for under $ 4.

Oof. The food was literally inedible. I took one bite of the grilled chicken taco and spit it out in a napkin. Stringy, fatty parts of the chicken you don’t want to eat, and the sauce(salsa?) somehow tasted like Italian tomato sauce from a jar. Just a bizarre flavor. The vegetarian taco was crazily bland(as were the salsas from the bar), and topped with two huge slices of a mealy, white-ish tomato. I appreciate that they are generous with the shredded iceberg lettuce, but it takes away from it actually being a taco and just ups the bland factor. I picked at that a little before giving up on the whole meal. Waste of money!

Pretty solid taqueria. On the way to the freeway, so that’s a plus. Love the artwork. Food was so-so, but maybe I didn’t get what they are«famous» for. I would go back.

Very clean place. My husband and I came here from a friends recommendation. Food is fresh and huge portions. I ordered the shrimp fajitas and they were awesome. Can’t wait to return.

Found this place on Unilocal,my friends and I were craving Mexican food and the pictures along with the food ratings made us come here. So, with 3 guys and 1 girl that can eat for hours, we ordered almost everyone on the menu. Upon arrival, I thought the shop was very rustic and when stepping in the restaurant… It smelt so good, the food has such an amazing aroma. A nice young man took our order and was very patient with us when we ordered all of our meals. The restaurant was clean and about half full. I enjoyed this location a lot. The food was well seasoned and had the right amount of everything and very generous portions. I will certainly come here again because I thought it was one of the top Mexican restaurants I have ever encountered.

Very good. Plenty of seating. Great prices. Got the chicken fajitas. I have never seen so much food in my life. It easily could have fed two or three and was only $ 9.95. Husband got lengua, shrimp, and fish tacos and all had a ton of meat and were delicious! My girls shared nachos which had so much cheese… real cheese not that nasty cheese sauce. Very yummy. This will definitely by a Santa Cruz staple for us.

Lengua and carnitas regular tacos. The tacos were delicious with a special sauce on top. The lengua was super tender and you can tell they were in a broth for a long time. The carnitas were good as well and flavorful. I had a taco plate and it came with beans and rice. The beans were good, but the rice was so delicious. Very authentic rice! The salsa bar was good with lots of different sauces. The mild tomato salsa was actually pretty spicy with the jalapenos in them! I wasn’t a big fan of their chips because they’re really thick, but at least they’re free!
