Barba Landscape

Sent an inquiry to them in July 2015 to quote the conversion of my front and back yards to drought resistant landscaping. My inquiry included my new design drawings. Mr. Barba visited my property — but I never got a quote. Follow up requests were made for a quote, to no avail. I got it done elsewhere. Too bad he missed a 5 figure job.

Working with Jose was great. He has great taste and a solid sense of vision.
Jose did our front yard and backyard. He was able to turn dirt into something our neighbors stop and look at. And he now does our maintenance.
I highly recommend you give Jose a call if you are on the market for landscape work.

Had Barba redo the watering system at my home from sprinklers to drip.
The bid was fair, the work was done quickly… they double-​checked everything and repaired at no additional cost a couple of pre-​existing hookups. Everything works perfectly.
And when the dog got into the garden and popped one of the connectors (discovered when water started spraying everywhere) Barba was there within an hour to fix the problem and get the system back to work.
Cannot say enough good things about Jose Barba and his crew.

Barba Landscape installed my new garden in June of 2015. They also installed a drip system using my old sprinkler system. I am saving water and money at the same time. I was so impressed with their work that I hired them to maintain the garden on a weekly basis. Jose took over my monthly maintenance in Oct 2014 and demonstrated a high level of service at the outset. At the beginning he answered calls and sent workers who knew what they were doing. As time went on he became less and less responsive to the point of not returning calls. He also changed out the crew and sent less experienced people who did not perform quality work. I am disappointed because we really thought we had someone we could work with but over time the level of service just continued to decline. In July 2015 we finally moved on to someone else.

Jose and his crew did a great job in redoing my back yard irrigation system that had very old galvanized pipes and was laid out poorly. With new PVC pipes and high pressure valves I now have much better coverage and great water pressure. Jose gave me a very reasonable estimate and the job was well worth the cost and highly recommend them for all your landscape needs.

Jose and his team redesigned a very ugly hillside at the back of our yard into a beautiful drought tolerant garden with all kinds of succulents. They worked diligently to meet our timeframe and even after we added more work to our original plan, they were finished on time. We would be very happy to recommend Jose and his team.

I have never really had the chance to meet or work with them in person. After I called the first time they took my information down and they said they’d call me back within a day. When they didn’t, I called them again 3 days later and they told me they would come by that same day to make the consultation. Never showed up. It’s been a week. I shouldn’t have to call a third time… I told them the job was small so maybe that’s why…

When we were left high and dry by a contractor who bailed in the middle of an extensive backyard renovation, Jose and his team came in to save the day. He was upfront about the job and presented workable options and suggestions for completion from the first meeting. His bid was reasonable, and, most importantly, he took on the job even though it required reworking the irrigation system and maneuvering around some pre-​existing elements that couldn’t be changed given our budget. We are especially pleased with the creative, ambient lighting he added throughout the yard and elements such as decorative potted plants and attention to detail on our outdoor fireplace. The landscaping is beautiful and should be easy to maintain, which was important to us. This rating isn’t perfect mainly because the project took a few weeks longer than quoted. However, Jose remained very communicative throughout the process, which we appreciated, and remained committed to getting it done and making sure we were pleased with the end result!

Jose and his team were a lifesaver! Our very large lawn and garden had serious irrigation and drainage issues which over time just destroyed the space. We had to fix a big mistake from previous contractor and re-​sod the entire space with proper irrigation coverage. Jose is extremely informative, attentive and very reliable! Its such a breath of fresh air to be able to trust and rely on a great landscaper. I would highly highly recommend Barba Landscape.

Spoke to the owner who was super informative. I asked him on DWP turf rebate program and he provided me with information without trying to close the deal. Specifically he opened eyes to what potential costs will be even with the rebate. To sum it up, I will definitely add him on my list of reputable and honest design contractors for my future needs.

These guys are great. Their bid came in significantly lower than others and they did the job well and in a timely fashion.

Jose and team are amazing! He completely re-​irrigated our property, then extensively relandscaped. He also does all our regular weekly maintenance. Jose is great to work with — really helps to explain the best approach, and is responsive and patient with all our questions. Barba Landscape was wonderful! I have a large property and know nothing of irrigation! I wanted low water use/​conservation type irrigation installed. Jose Barba was professional, knowledgeable, attentive and he put up with all of my phone calls! He designed several different options for me and walked me through the whole process and price points. His estimate was almost $ 2000 less then the other 2 estimates I received and he finished 5 days earlier than anticipated. His crew was detailed oriented and thorough. And I saw Jose everyday. He called me a couple of weeks after the completion just to make sure everything was going smoothly and if I had any questions. I would recommend him to anyone and I would definitely use him again.
