Kat Pulido started Kat Esthetics in 2013. Wanting to pursue her passion in Skin Care and working as a Freelance Makeup Artist Kat transitioned from her studies in Fashion Design at FIDM to Santa Monica College where she completed the Esthetics Program while taking Design Courses. She became licensed by the State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology and enrolled in an extensive Speed Waxing Course with a focus on the Brazillian Wax.

As a Santa Monica Resident Kat began to build her waxing, threading, and tinting clientele at Benefit Cosmetics Boutique on Montana Ave. With a high volume of clientele she learned to perfect her skills very quickly and soon after trained new estheticians on these skills. Three years later and determined to expand her own skill-​set she found herself across the street at SugaringLa, and then Slash Salon. Now she works from home!

Kat, an absolute darling in every regard, is rapidly becoming a renowned esthetician in Santa Monica. She has a heavenly gift in her very skilled treatment of skin care. Her talent in facials and rejuvenating skin from the deepest levels, is profound. Kat is a most humble, gracious, beautiful, young woman devoted to taking heartfelt care of her clients and to continuing her personal education to master today’s technologies in state of the art dermatologic and esthetic skin care. Tucked away in a private, garden bungalow, her studio is pure peace and tranquility. I’m a middle aged woman with challenged skin due in large part to childhood acne now resurfacing; scars beyond belief and sun damage. After each treatment I receive from Kat, my skin absolutely radiates.
I can’t say enough positive things about my experience with Kat– We are so very fortunate to have her here in the community. I encourage anyone looking for a personal touch and dynamic healing to visit Kat. Let her work on you… You will be amazed.

So, i have has the same wax lady for yers. of course when i moved to LA, i had to find, someone new. TALK about scary. You have to trust and be comfortable with someone wilding. Hot wax near you.
I went to Kat, for the first time last night. I instantly felt like i met my new wax bff. KAT makes you feel so comfortable and at ease. So glad i have found her! I will be reccomending. Her to everyone

So relieved to have found Kat! After moving to LA from Chicago, I was determined to find a new eyebrow girl. Everyone knows how hard it is to find new hair stylists and waxers when moving to a new city. But eyebrows are different. I mean, they’re the frame of your face!
Anyways, I tried about 5 girls when I first moved here and was so unhappy that I started tweezing. Ugh. I would fly back home to Chicago every few months, have my girl reshape and then I would tweeze until I went back for another visit. Not ideal…
After getting engaged this year I knew it was time that I had to find someone. I actually considered flying back to Chicago a week before the wedding to get my eyebrows done… not really practical.
So it’s two years later and I decided to try looking again. Somehow Kat showed up at the top of my search. Where has she been all this time? And 5 minutes from my home? Amazing. Not only is she adorable, but for realz, she did my eyebrows just like I used to get them done. I even pulled out my phone to show her pictures of what they used to look like, but I’m pretty sure I didn’t even need to. My last girl, I went to her for 10 years. And I’m so happy to say I found her replacement. As long as I’m in LA I will be going to see Kat for my eyebrows!
P. s. easy street parking, great bungalow spot with fresh air. I love everything about it.

I, like many others, decided to try Kat based on her Unilocal reviews alone. So glad that I did! First of all, Kat is super sweet and so easy to talk to and makes you feel at ease and her studio (which is home-​based) is just as warm and welcoming. Kat just knows what she’s doing. She takes her time with you and and she is very gentle! I have been to several other threading places and every time I have left with super red arches and watering eyes, because they pinched my skin! I left Kat’s with amazing, tamed arches (should’ve snapped a before and after), very minimal redness (which I attribute to my sensitive skin), and it was a genuinely painless experience! She is awesome and I will be going back for eyebrow shaping and most likely eyelash extensions and a facial! Thank you, Kat for a great experience!

I have been getting my brows waxed by Kat for years. She is the best! Just recently she convinced me to tint my brows (something I have never done before) and let me tell you, it was life changing! I will never go back to un tinted brows ever again! MY brows look the best they have ever looked and are so low maintenance now as I no longer have to use a brow pencil. I hope she never moves because I can’t see myself letting anyone else touch my brows other than Kat.

I’ve been going from place to place for a while now trying to find a competent person that I can trust with my brows. Today I went to Kat and I am so grateful I did! I texted her last minute to see if she could take me the same night, and lucky for me she had an opening. She was so welcoming and friendly, and made me feel so comfortable in her home/​workspace (which is super cute, btw). She listened to what I wanted to do with my brows, shape-​wise, and executed what I was envisioning but better! She made suggestions concerning some of the spots growing out a bit more to be even, which I loved, and really gave me the best possible shape. I haven’t had them looking this good in quite a while! Thank you, Kat, for taking me from werewolf to pretty kitty!

Kat was awesome! I needed a brow wax before my wedding but let it be known that I hadn’t had a brow wax in 4 years. Someone told me it would probably be a good idea to get them cleaned up before the wedding. But in my eyes — I had grown them out just how I liked them and didn’t want to mess them up.
I found Kat on Unilocal and went to see her about a week before my wedding! She did an amazing job. She was easy to schedule with, VERY affordable, and most importantly — she made my brows look nice and clean without waxing off half of my face LOL. We’ve all had that experience, come on! Thank you Kat! I will definitely be back. If you are on the west side and don’t want to pay a TON of money for a brow wax, but still want a trustworthy person to do it — Kat is your girl! I will absolutely be back.

Sorry, if you cannot have your business phone answered directly, by a human being, during business hours you have a hobby, not a business.
I left a clear voice message for Kat over two days ago, repeated my name and number twice, slowly.
Kat never returned my call.
Unprofessional. I am not going to trust my face, nor spend my hard earned dollars, with someone who can’t be bothered to return a call within a couple hours, or days.
With no overhead, working out of her home, (is her SM business license posted?) no one to answer the phone and greet customers, no off street parking — prices should be much lower. Prices are lower at several well established salons in Santa Monica that have a staff and answer their phones.

Kat did my eyebrows for the first time yesterday and I absolutely loved how they turned out. First, she was very quick to respond to my text and got me in later on that day. The place is clean, warm, and cozy. Kat is so nice and easy to trust. I instantly felt that I was in good hands. The waxing was painless and perfection. I came in to see Kat today for the first time with two of my girl friends. To start, her room is adorable and extremely clean. Very cozy and was able to fit the 4 of us comfortably.
After seeing her Instagram post about the new pumpkin peel she got, I new my skin had to have it. Plus, hello fall! She gave me a deep cleansing facial (extractions included!) tailored to my skin and incorporated the pumpkin peel into it. Ahhhhh that tingle. I live for it. It’s been 2 long, sad years since I’ve had a facial and wow did my skin deeply miss that tingly sensation from a delicious smelling pumpkin peel. On top of the amazing peel, Kat gave a wonderful massage.
I know from watching and all the gushing afterwards, that my two other friends enjoyed their treatments as well. Thank you Kat for a such lovely treatments as well as your great company! I’m looking forward to seeing you again!

Kat is absolutely amazing at what she does, and she is such a personable individual. She’s very easy to get along with and is comfortable being around. I come to her for my facials and brows, I wouldn’t trust anyone else with them! I have brought my sister to my appointments and my sister loves her work as well! I recently relocated to the area from Northern California and couldn’t seem to find anyone who could give me a recommendation for an esthetician, so I took to Unilocal to find someone.
All of Kat’s customer reviews were awesome! I couldn’t find a single bad review. Everyone gave her 5 stars, and I am doing the same. Her website (currently under construction) provided her cell number and said to call or text for an appointment. I sent her a text letting her know what I needed and she had an opening for me that evening.
I saw a different address listed (it was an old address) and thought I would actually be able to walk to my appointment from work, but it turns out I had to drive. There was plenty of free street parking in the neighborhood (residential), even at 5:30pm.
I initially just booked a brow appointment, and when I arrived, she asked me what I would like done and what method I would prefer (wax, thread, or tweeze). She is very sweet and personable and it was the most painless brow wax think I have ever gotten. When we were done, she also informed me of other services she offers like lash and brow tinting, without being pushy or making me feel obligated to book something with her.
A week later I had a sugaring appointment scheduled, but after finding out she also did brazilian/​bikini waxes, I decided to cancel my sugaring appointment and text her to see when she could fit me in. She was available the same day, but I chose to schedule the next evening at 6pm.
Traffic was a little worse getting there at 6pm on a Thursday, but still manageable with available free street parking, and the experience was just as pleasant (as pleasant as a brazilian can be). I was in and out in 20 minutes.
I am so glad to have found a great esthetician that I can come back to again and again. I have never had a facial before, but I’m thinking about booking one soon. I highly recommend Kat!

Have you been hurt before? I have. After years of growing out my skinny pathetic brows (thanks 90’s) I went to Vinita’s in Westwood. My brows were super full & luscious, they just needed a bit of shaping. The woman at Vinita’s BUTCHERED my brows! She threaded off my perfect arches & ruined all the time I spent growing them out. Who could I trust after this terrible experience? A friend recommended Kat.
I warned Kat that I did not want any threading or waxing, just to pluck & trim them. She was so sweet (not to mention gorgeous with perfect brows!) she happily agreed to my request. After she finished I took one look & knew Kat was my brow guru! My brows are full and shaped perfectly with bangin arches. After Kat did them I got so many compliments from my fellow brow-​obsessed friends.
Kat’s studio is super cute! It’s in a great location, parking is easy & free. Her prices are SO low! I’m so happy it won’t cost much to maintain, and I’ll never trust anyone else with my brows!
