Specialties
The first half of the class is exploration through relaxation and movement exercises. The second half of the class explores performance of monologues and scene study, bringing the text to life through movement and repetition. Performance material can span Greek tragedy, Shakespeare, and contemporary works. Personal writings and audition copy are also encouraged. The performer creates relationship with the material and fellow performers, while also creating relationship with the audience. Actors, Dancers, Musicians, and other artists of performance welcome, Ages 12 to Adult.

Business Owner
Derek majored in Theatre at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He continued film and stage work in Chicago, and has been in the film and stage worlds in Southern California since 2000. Some of his stage work includes ‘Hamlet’ at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, ‘Equus’ at Morgan-Wixson Theatre, and ‘Catching the Butcher’ at Long Beach Playhouse. Training includes Laban Theory, Viewpoints, Stanislavski Method, and Shamanic Theatre Philosophy.
