Excellent customer service and beautiful presentation!!! I was looking for a small diamond cross necklace for a Christmas gift and I wasn’t sure they had what I wanted.
I was so impressed with my salesman, Avo and how much time he spent with me. He listened to what I wanted and did not push anything on me and still made me feel like a valued customer even with my small budget.
Avo found me a gorgeous cross necklace that was within my budget and my mom absolutely loved it! The necklace was presented in a beautiful box and bag that I didn’t expect to get.
I am so impressed with their level of customer service and the quality of their jewelry. Not to mention the look of the store which was definitely 5 stars.
I totally recommend Reader’s and will go back very soon to take a better look at their unique designer watches. Even though it’s a drive for me to Santa Monica, I don’t mind at all and think the selection and customer service was well worth it.

The craftsmanship that goes into the rings Eddie and his family make is beyond words. My husband bought my engagement ring there, and we got our bands from there as well. My husband also got a Christmas gift from there for me, and I could not be happier. Eddie listened to what we wanted and said he would even watch the market to see when the prices were down. His son also helped us on one other time and was funny and professional. The service and the products there are truly worth 5 stars.

Thanks to Eddie and his family we always have a great experience there. If you are close to Santa Monica drop in on them they are jewelers and make most of their own jewelry. The woman on the phone was just so rude! She was short with me, cut me off and made me fee cheap because I had a mix of fine jewelry and costume jewelry needing repair.
I asked if she could suggest any other places to try nearby. She stated she knew none. Come on! Being in the business for so many years you can’t list one place? Only after I mentioned that I found her on Unilocal did she change her poor attitude toward me. So sad!!! I felt like saying «Lady trust me I have plenty of diamonds too!!!»
I called Jacks jewelers who were friendly and take ALL jewelry repairs no problem! I will definitely take all my business there!

My fiancé and I bought our wedding bands here from Eddie, and he is a wonderful craftsman and a fun, caring person! The bands are all beautiful and he takes his time to make sure you get the one you want. He also cleaned my engagement ring and it looks better than it did on the day of the proposal! It really does. It is the experience you want when picking out wedding bands with your beloved.

0 stars for rude treatment little artistry. Asked to see a ring and was denied by old man. What a jerk. Jewelry lacked any real craftsmanship and store seemed like it should be a chain selling mainstream jewelry.

He guided me start-​to-​finish, checked in with my regularly, made the entire experience very personal, and crafted a beautiful ring for my girlfriend. My wife and I recently decided to re-​design our wedding rings as a 20 year anniversary present for ourselves. We had no idea how to get started other than searching for pictures of what we liked. My wife has been going to Readers for years to replace watch batteries and small jewelry repairs and has always received fair and friendly service so we decided to start our redesign process there. We love Eddie!!! My fiancé bought my ring from Readers and we go in every so often to say hi, to get my ring cleaned and most recently to look at wedding bands. All of the employees are welcoming Would definitely recommend them for engagement rings or just to purchase a gift for a loved one. They are knowledgeable, caring and most importantly fair. We will continue to do business with them!

I went in there to get my engagement ring resized. From the moment I walked in I was treated with nothing but kindness and great customer service. I wish I had more jewelry so I could have an excuse to go back to Reader’s! They were absolutely wonderful to work with.

Eddie is great! I had a round solitaire diamond ring to work with but i didn’t like the round shape on my finger so he was able to put pave diamonds around the diamond and square it up, it looks cushion cut now with the halo effect. They made such a beautiful ring, it turned out much better than I expected.
It’s family run and everyone is so nice.

My husband had a family ring remade to a beautiful necklace. We were worried about leaving it in the hands of someone else, but at Readers you needn’t be concerned! Not only is their service second to none, the craftsmanship is excellent.
The ring consisted of a princess cut centre stone with a halo and the transformation is just perfect!
The prices are a little high, but you get what you pay for, and what you pay for here is quality and reassurance.
Eddie even resized my husbands ring free of charge!

When I set out to buy an engagement ring, I had very little experience buying jewelry. This led me to do a great deal of research. I tried to familiarize myself with the terminology and products before walking into the store. I went into Readers first (based on their excellent Unilocal rating). Avo walked me through all of the basics, and all of the things I had researched started making sense. Its hard to understand until you see it.
I had familiarized myself with the prices from jewelers like Kevin and Kay so I was a bit shocked when we started talking numbers. I headed over to the mall to see why the numbers were so much lower. I saw it immediately. I am so glad I started at Readers, because without Avo’s help, I wouldn’t have known what I was buying.
Engagement rings are expensive. You can find rings that look beautiful, for cheap prices, but that does not make them a good deal. I am so grateful for the education Avo gave me, and for the ring he created for me. The diamonds they sell in shopping malls are nowhere near the quality that Readers will source for you. Additionally, malls are not going to let you customize the ring. What you see is what you get, and it feels a lot less meaningful.
It’s been a couple months since she said yes, and I’ve experienced something that nobody warned me about. You spend a lot of time looking at the ring. Obviously the two of you are going to be spending even more time together; all the while you’ll be watching this expensive thing sparkle on her finger. If it hadn’t yet, it starts to sink in just how significant the object is, and you don’t get the opportunity to change it. So, with that said, I recommend stopping in and learning as much as you can about what you’re about to buy.
I tried visiting a few other local jewelers, but it just didn’t feel the same. Readers had already won me as a customer. Everyone at Readers was extremely helpful and friendly. They worked hard to earn my trust, and create the perfect ring. I couldn’t be happier with them.

My review is way over due. Eddie, Avo and everyone else are so wonderful, warm gracious AND true artisans. Eddie restyled and reset my Mom’s ring for my wife. Our marriage and my Mom’s passing happened within a week of each other and, until then I had never understood attachment to jewelry .
I am so grateful to the care they took in making it stay so beautiful, listening to my wife’s ideas, transforming the ring while still maintaining it’s integrity and ultimately, making an exquisite piece of work and my wife and I very happy.
It’s always wonderful to see them. I am not the most frequent nor most prolific jewelry shopper but we are always treated so well. Eddie remembers and has a great eye too, «No that’s not your wife’s style. Maybe you want to look at this ?» (Of course he’s right. What can I say? I am a clueless man. THANK YOU EDDIE!!!)

While on a short trip to Santa Monica my sister and I walked by this store and saw a lovely turquoise ring in the window. On a lark we decided to go in and take a look.
Well, everything in that store was appealing. We were immediately greeted by Evelyn who was gracious and a pleasure to talk with. She showed me the ring, which I loved, and told me that it was designed by Eddie who was also in the store. After some discussion we found out they are married. Loved them both. We had a great chat about other things we have in common and felt like we were really meant to walk by the store when we did and walk in to meet Eddie and Evelyn. I bought the ring and I feel like I made two new friends. I’ve never felt so comfortable in a jewelry store and I am sorry that we are so many hundreds of miles away.

Here’s how it went down.
Much to my relief, my fiancé and I decided to design her engagement ring together. Over breakfast one morning, we turned to Unilocal and were impressed with Readers’ 5-​star rating.
As soon as we walked in, we knew we’d found the right place. Their 5^th Generation is not just a slogan — we had the pleasure of meeting nearly everyone in the family.
Avo is truly an artist. He personally designs a lot of the rings in the store and because of his craftsmanship, he can help you visualize exactly what you want — and then bring it to life. Just like he did for us.
We knew we wanted a more nontraditional ring that used morganite as the centerpiece. Instead of using a buyer, Avo went to the jewelry district himself to find a stone that met his exacting standards. Bling!
Then the designing began. It’s great because Avo has an amazing vision for the pieces he designs. We met several times to discuss the details of the ring and the coolest part was the wax model he created so we could «try on» the ring before the real one came to life.
When I saw the real thing, I was stunned. As a dude, I don’t get excited about jewelry, but the ring he created for my now fiancé was amazing. Breathtaking. Spectacular. Stunning. OMG-​inducing. You get the idea.
Then I picked the ring up after a crazy 2-​week turnaround, flew to Cape Cod and popped the question.
It’s impossible for us to be happier with the engagement ring he designed and we can’t wait to see what he creates for my wedding wedding band.
Throughout the whole experience, it never felt like we were customers. It felt like we were long time friends of the family.
Avo for President!

I had just spent a month researching diamonds until I found the perfect one online and bought it. The next step was to find the perfect setting and I went to a ton of stores downtown, all which looked like the same cheap old mass produced lameness, nothing special at all. Even the designs were the same at most of the stores downtown. I stumbled upon Readers one day and notice their designs being completely different than the stuff I’d been used to seeing when shopping around. In the end I settled with my own design that was inspired by one of theirs with a few key changes that I thought my soon to be fiancé would prefer.
Avo was a pleasure to work with in regards to the design of the ring. I always felt comfortable talking to him and he gave me great advice when I wasn’t sure on a specific aspect of the ring design. He was on time in delivering renders and getting back to me with good communication. The renders weren’t exactly what I wanted and Avo was up front in telling me this before I even saw them, but he knew exactly what I wanted and it came out perfect. I’m ultra picky on something that my other half is expected to wear for the rest of her life, so I wanted it to be exceptional. Picking the diamond took a month of research and shopping around. Designing the ring took another month, and in the end I have something truly beautiful and unique to my own.
We’ll definitely be picking up our wedding bands here in the near future!

In 1987 I lost my grandmother, whom I adored. She left me her engagement ring, which my grandfather presented to her in the 30s. Over the past 25 years this tiny little ring sat in my jewelry box — until I recently became engaged, and my fiancée and I chose to have the diamond put into another setting.
I checked Unilocal,and saw such terrific reviews that I had to at least give the shop a try.
Well — what’s been said here is all accurate.
We walked into the shop and Avo showed me a variety of settings that my diamonds could go into. After much review, he mentioned that the original setting was quite lovely, and asked if I had ever worn this ring — which I had not.
He then suggested that I have the ring restored — and wear it as my grandmother did all those years. And then after wearing it, if I wanted to still replace the setting, at least I’d have seen the ring on my hand in her memory.
Wow.
Now, certainly, a new setting would have run us much more in price — so Avo did not try to upsell or even sell us on anything. He took the time to get to know me, embraced my emotional connection to my grandmother — and I absolutely took his great advice.
Well, I picked my ring up on Saturday — and when they opened the box for me to see it, I was certain it was the wrong ring — it was SPECTACULAR! The ring that sat for 25 years no longer exists — in it’s place is the ring — as it must have looked to my grandmother, when my grandfather got on his knee in Brooklyn and proposed to her.
I am overwhelmed with joy and emotion, and have never felt so moved about a ring — and moreover — about a shop — than my experience at Readers Fine Jewelers has left me.

We first found Readers during our search for a jeweler to do a face-​lift on my family-​heirloom engagement ring. The white gold had gone completely yellow, it needed to be brought down about 3 sizes and we needed the two side stones to be replaced. It’s a very intricate and fragile ring with quite a history in my husband’s family, making it absolutely irreplaceable. Needless to say, we were very nervous about having the work done.
On our first visit, Eddie met with us personally and assured us that he would be able to keep all the band’s details intact while resizing and gave recommendations for the side stones. We felt we could really trust him and he gave us a great price which sealed the deal.
When the ring was finished it completely exceeded all of our expectations! None of the details on the band were lost, the sizing and the side stones were perfect and the whole ring was shining like it was brand new. After that, we couldn’t fathom going anywhere else for our wedding bands. Eddie and his son designed a custom band to fit with my engagement ring and we found the perfect ring for my husband. They were happy to hold onto our rings in their safe until the week before our wedding and they re-​polished and cleaned my engagement ring for free before the big day.
Since then we have been back for multiple cleanings and re-​platings. Eddie and his son always remember us by name and go above and beyond to give great service.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Readers Fine Jewelers to any of my friends or family. I have never felt more welcome or received better service at a business and they have the skills and quality products to match.
