Experience Makes the Difference.

For eight years and counting, parents and students have hired me because I have the demonstrated ability to connect with students. Whether you need an A in calculus or chemistry, or just really hope to get a C in Algebra, I’ve tutored students in the same situation before, probably at the same school, so I have a vast reservoir of experience to draw upon in tailoring an approach for each student. And now, for the bragging…

I don’t have a PhD.

And that’s a good thing! Don’t get me wrong, I know the subjects I tutor inside and out. I have a BS from Stanford. But there are an awful lot of math and science tutors out there who think that if they have an advanced degree in math or physics, that makes them a good tutor; instead, it just makes them such a specialist that they can’t bring it down to a beginner’s level!

History

Established in 2003.

I love helping students get through classes they’re having trouble with, whether a high school student who is grinding to get that C up to a B for their transcript, or an SMC student trying to switch careers or transfer. I make math fun-​ish!

I live in Santa Monica, but my phone is 323 because I used to live in Hollywood and didn’t want to change my number since so many clients had it.

I’m married and live in Santa Monica with my wife and two young kids.

I’m originally from the Midwest, then attended Stanford University, graduating with a BS in mechanical engineering. Most people don’t believe me when I tell them this, but I really did pick Stanford because of the windsurfing on San Francisco Bay!
