Tikkun Holistic Spa

I am super pissed. I just drove to my appointment and was 7 mins late and told that my appointment was going to be cut short. Then I was told that they could take me but with another therapist. I was so livid. Not to mention the staff was incompetent over the phone and rude in person. I know they deal with tough clients, but when u get a good one that is nice, drives from the valley, gives a 20% tip and refers your place to others you have some nerve. I mean I walked in and everyone at the front desk gave me a nasty look. Then I have to have the therapist I had an appointment with have a no so private convo with the receptionist/​scheduler in front of me passing me off to someone else. Haha ok Megan… Never going here again. Service has declined and only giving it two stars instead of 1 because it used to be good. Bye Tikkun

This is a really relaxing spa located right in Downtown Santa Monica. I love the steam room, sauna and Himalayan salt room. It’s the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate. The front desk staff are very friendly and accommodating.

Love this place. And the staff is so nice. I go there for a body scrub at least twice a month, I have a membership and it is so worth it. They provide lot’s of services like massages and hair.
Even V steam ! I never tried this. But I highly recommend this place.

I got the groupon for $ 19 for use of the spa & called before and let them know I wanted to schedule 2 services, one for me and my daughter, at the same time. I asked if we came right away and would be there for a few hours if I could schedule when we got there, as we hadn’t decided what service we wanted and was told it would be fine. When we got there, we couldn’t schedule something at the same time so instead we had to stay later than we wanted. Then we went to get our spa day started and as I was showering, the receptionist came in and said she couldn’t find my groupon (I thought this could’ve waited until we were done) but was told to come out when I could. Soaking wet, I wrapped up and went to the front desk where she searched and couldn’t find it. I told her I could log on to my account but I didn’t have reception & my cell was in the locker so asked to use the computer, after a little hesitation she let me and I found the groupon right away. This all took about 15 minutes of my spa time with my daughter. The spa is unbelievably TINY. All the rooms (himalayan, salt, ice) are so small you can only fit 2 people in them, which was awkward when other people came in and you basically had to sit balled up, not very relaxing. The ice room was not cold enough, the jacuzzi was not hot enough and the steam room was not in service that day (which is my favorite of all rooms). The locker room is very small too and with only 5 – 6 of us in it, was awkward & uncomfortable. The service we scheduled was a korean scrub, the most awkward of ALL this experience was having that same receptionist come back with different clothes on and apologize saying the therapist was not available and she would be doing my scrub (my daughter got a traditional korean lady). I felt a little weird but I asked her if she normally does them and she said yes so I guess she serves different roles. All in all, it was overpriced ($ 65 for a scrub, in Koreatown they are $ 30 – 40 and done by a traditional korean lady) and not a relaxing experience. It was cramped and we felt rushed. I won’t be going back even though I wanted to try the VSpa.

Tikkun is my little slice of heaven. OMG when i need some real self care and body tuning I go to Tikkun. the Himalayan salt room is my absolute best the staff is amazing you feel so relaxed when you walk into the spa itself before you have had any kind of services. I love the Hot tub and saunas as well and the entire holistic experience! thank you Tikkun see you soon!

Such a huge fan of the front desk people! They are so warm and pleasant!
I came here with my family just to use the facilities and didn’t book a massage appointment. Upon arrival, the front desk welcomed us and showed us around. The facility here is quite small and dainty but definitely quite comfortable.
Overall, the rooms are really small at the spa with only about a couple of people in each room, but we went at a time that it wasn’t busy. I can understand people who may have had to wait for awhile if the rooms are being used at its capacity.
The jacuzzi in the women’s room is very nice! I loved being able to relax and enjoy the warm water. Overall, this spa was a great experience and I would love to be back and book a massage or facial. I hear raving reviews on it.

Booked a massage and hydrafacial based on recommendations from the hotel I was staying at. 3 stars is an overall review of the spa, if I had gone just for the hydrafacial I would have given it 5 stars!
First the Pros:
The hydrafacial! ($ 225 for 60 minutes). I literally can not stop raving about the treatment!!! I am now hooked and have looked for places in my hometown where I can get this treatment. First off, it is so relaxing and calming. The treatment does not leave you with any irritation or redness, just amazing skin. 4 days later and my skin still feels smooth and soft, pores minimized. The hydrafacial treatment deserves 5 stars…
Now the Cons:
The space — It just has no «luxury» feel to it. Very basic and small. The clay room, salt room and infrared sauna is all nice but again very small. The change rooms are small and does not feel like a spa, more like a change room at a gym
Massage — I received a 30 minute massage (add on to my facial) and it was probably one of the worst massages I have ever received… I really wish I didn’t get it and just got the facial! Maybe I am used to getting really good massages? I was covered in oil, almost dripping when I got up… I asked her to concernttrate on my neck/​shoulders and she spent the majority of the time working on my lower back… I had to ask her to go easier on the pressure because it was painful. The list goes on for how bad the massage was…
Go in for the facial, use the infrared/​clay room but skip the massage.

I love the facility, Pam and Nikki, and my zen time at Tikkun.
The clay room is great for detoxing and the pink Himalayan salt room is perfect for relaxation.
Be adventurous and try the V-​steam. Your body and soul will thank you for visiting Tikkun.

I was gifted a massage with Jesse, and it was hands down the best massage I’ve ever had. He is very intuitive and knew exactly what I needed work on. The rest of the facility was great and the staff was all extremely helpful. I’ll definitely be back!

If you have been to other Korean spas, you’ll know why I’m giving it a 2 stars. This place is so small and suffocating. Their brochure and website made it sound so wonderful but I was sorely disappointed. Yes, the urban location has limited space, but frankly, I felt the company was trying to do too much in a confined space.
For example, their acclaimed salt room and clay room could only fit two people lying down. There is barely any space for a third person to step in. In between the rooms, I had to wait for others to get out. When you want to relax and go about your way, waiting is not something you want to do. And their Ice room wasn’t exactly an ice room… it’s basically an AC blowing out cold air. There were only three shower stalls and one women’s bathroom.
I’d rather drive down to Ktown or Torrance to enjoy the luxurious all-​day spa experience.

It’s been a couple months since I started getting facials from Maxine here and I wanted to update. I love what she does. My skin always feels so amazingly clean, soft and bright when I leave. I also love how relaxing and soothing the environment she creates is.
I’ve still not tried the facilities here but I still mean to at some point. Until then, I save my pennies to see Maxine every other week. She is worth it!

My boyfriend and I had a fabulous time. I originally got the groupon which was $ 19 each for a day pass giving you access to the Himalayan salt room, clay room, ice room (all co-​ed). But through the female changing room there’s access to a sauna steam room and jacuzzi. It IS clothing optional in those areas so if that isn’t your thing then you may be a little put out. I don’t personally care myself (nothing I haven’t seen before or don’t have myself).
Favorite room — Himalayan Salt Room
Least favorite room — Ice room. Needs some serious work.
However I cannot rave enough about the massages (we got a couples 60 minute Swedish massage). With the groupon we also got 20% off their services. Seriously Nemanja was an absolute God with his hands. I actually completely crashed out part way through the massage (as did my boyfriend) who had the lady Geinny I believe her name was. I hadn’t felt so alive since a massage and I will definitely be coming back for another.
Such a lovely well spent 3 hours.

I really enjoyed this spa!
All the amenities are great and you can enjoy them to your liking freely. They give you day pass access when you purchase any spa service or if you want a day of relaxing but do not want a service you can just purchase a day pass which they offer on groupon for $ 19. (If you prefer to purchase directly from the spa just mention groupon and they will honor the $ 19 day pass deal.)
I got a Vsteam for the first time. The Vsteam was very relaxing and therapeutic. The Vsteam is 30mins long but it takes about 3−5mins for it to warm up while your time is counting down. I would suggest the session be 35mins so that there is warm up time rather than paying for 30mins and only really getting 25−27mins.
I’ll definitely be going back!

Ok. The good– clean, modern, exceptionally nice staff. Loved the mat in the clay room, very comfortable! Was even given a tour which usually is unheard of of Korean spas but this really isn’t truly a Korean spa…
The bad– Jacuzzi is not really warm, ice room is nothing more than a air conditioner in a enclosed room (lounge area is actually colder and more refreshing), parking (not even validated).
Where is the Jade room? I think I missed it or it’s no longer there or not accessable unless treatment is purchased (V steam, scrub, etc.)?
Back to parking– I parked at the library and paid $ 5 for the day. It was just a little walk and got to walk past a coffee place I want to see while going to the spa. If you park at the spa it’s $ 14 a day. Just review the city of Santa Monica website for parking prices and suggestions.
I would suggest to use this as a «spa» only if you are there for a haircut. While I was there there were good amounts people coming in for haircuts. How nice would it be to relax in jacuzzi and sauna before getting your haircut or dyed?
Use the Groupon when they have the 20% off special and see it for yourself.

Very nice and clean day spa in Santa Monica and right near the 3^rd st promenade and beach. I had two meetings separated by 6 hours so I decided to treat myself. I was greeted by a very nice staff (super Yesenia!). I got a 1 hour jade stone massage with Vera who was very nice! Very clean place as well!
As an avid spa patron, the only thing I would say could have been better was the heat in the dry and steam rooms (maybe I’m just used to the psycho style heat in Korean spas in downtown). It is a smaller place so you may have a bit of a wait to use some of the co-​ed spots.
Overall great service and great staff. Will definitely be back again!

Small small small… Everything is small and cramped. The cold room was a joke lol it was like just sitting in a little white box with little cool breeze every now and then because the a/​c was barley blowing…
I believe if everything was going to be that small and cramped at least work right… I enjoyed the JUCUZZI until they allowed this lady to get in nude with discolored discharge leaking from her vajay… If thats was part of the vajayjay treatment they can keep it… It looked like a VD! I wouldn’t know about the vajay treatment because they claim they where over booked or some nonsense I thought that’s what my reservation was for?
The sauna the sauna the sauna… Im the sauna a nude woman sat on the bench without any tile underneath so I’m thinking sweaty poop juice… Don’t get me wrong nothing wrong with being nude but… That can’t be sanitary. .
I was extremly shocked when my friends and I started talking in a normal low tone to the staff some one (staff) shouted from the middle section so loud and rude lower your voice as if we were children. It was very shocking because when we were approaching the spa area I could hear others chatting but, no one told them to tone it down… Really no one wanted to hear how Jake left Carli for her best friend Brittany then Brittany tried to stab Carli… Well maybe we did it was interesting but hey they should have been told as well…
One rest room/​one toilet … I had to wait for 4 ppl ahead of me…
This place needs to work extremely hard to improve customer service… It was like six ppl that looked like teens the front counter chatting before we walked in we all looked fab they all paused stared us down before saying how can we help you duh what do you think… I guess us paid customers interrupted the party… They just need to be more professional… I good attitude helps.

Tikkun is a great place for relaxation and renewal! My partner and I got deep tissue massages in the couples room, it was wonderful!
Everything is so clean and the staff is really friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to go back!

I got a facial from Mickley Shawzin the other day and it was completely amazing! I was told she was wonderful from friends and they were telling the truth. I felt totally relaxed while she worked on me and then had some great advice for the further care of my face.
I am a guy so the usual care is a splash of water and off we go. But she was very informative and I would recommend her highly!!!

Got introduced to this place during Spa Week. Woohoo, $ 50 50-​minute massages are the way to go! I’ve had some pretty strong massages from here, but the only name I can remember is Vera who gave an excellent massage. However, if you go here more than once, they should have a record for you and you can ask them to refer back to it if you liked your previous massager.
Tikkun also has some pretty nice rooms for you to absorb the various benefits – a clay room, ice room, etc. They fit 2 – 3 people so there may be times you would be waiting for a spot to open up in a room you want. Note that they give you a clothing set (shirt and shorts and sandals) to wear when using those rooms (which are used by both genders). If you don’t want to wait, you can enjoy (at least in the women’s section) the hot tub, dry sauna, or steam room. The clothing set is not worn here (I usually bring a swim suit).
They’re right in Santa Monica, which means various parking options. I usually park in the structure across the street for the mall, which gives me the excuse to browse some stores after a great time at Tikkun!

Go here for a treatment — facial, massage, body scrub — and then enjoy the extras: the hot tub, dry sauna, steam room, and various different infrared rooms (charcoal, clay, and himalayan salt). I don’t feel as though the «extras» are worth $ 40 for a trip on it’s own. I’d rather pay $ 50 – 60 for a treatment and then get the extras on the side.
My friend got a microdermabrasion and looked fabulous after. I got a swedish massage and felt great, but the next day I didn’t feel as though my issues (glutes, hamstrings) received any real quantifiable therapy. For that I probably should visit a therapeutic masseuse rather than a spa based one.
They offer a few membership services (e.g., $ 75/​mo for 1 body scrub plus 2 extra spa visits…) Worth it, I think.
Oh – and it’s clothing optional in the same-​gender areas, if you’re into that sort of thing.
Overall, I’d go back and I’d bring friends who visit from out of town. It’s a little undeservedly shi-​shi, though.
