History

Established in 1998.

Owned and operated by Co-​Proprietor Michael Klauber, an international wine merchant for more than 30 years.

Business Owner

Following studies at Cornell University, Michael Klauber was a wine buyer in 1977 at Arnaud’s restaurant in New Orleans, and was personally responsible for the wine program at my family’s resort (The Colony Beach Resort, a historic Longboat Key property) when they received the «Grand Award» in 1982. He’s had the privilege of serving as a wine judge for international competitions and currently serve as President and am a proud co-​founder of the Sarasota-​Manatee Originals, an organization boasting more than 50 independent restaurants throughout Sarasota and Manatee Counties. In late January 2014, he will co-​chair the 7^th Annual Forks & Corks Food & Wine Festival, a five-​day festival hosting dozens of international winemakers and owners. Previously, Michael founded and developed the Florida Winefest and Auction, resulting in the production of two of the country’s premier wine and food events in Sarasota.
