We are an after school math learning center dedicated to teaching math in a way that makes sense to kids. We offer math tutoring to kids from 2^nd — 12^th Grades. We also offer Private tutoring.

History

Established in 2002.

More than thirty-​five years ago, Larry Martinek was inspired to find a better way to teach children math. He clearly identified a common theme in mathematics instruction: a «serious disconnect between students’ basic skills training and the curriculum they are expected to master in the years to come.»

Over the next three decades, Larry painstakingly developed and assembled a blend of methods and materials that proved highly effective for students of all ages. Instead of relying on traditional rote memorization and repetitive exercises, Larry’s work focused on helping children build deep mathematical understanding – number sense – by honing their math instincts and getting them to think like Mathematicians.

The hallmark of the Mathnasium program has been the way it engages kids and gets them to know math. Today, the Mathnasium Method™ is providing children all over the world with the confidence, critical thinking skills, and mathematical ability to last a lifetime.

Meet the Business Owner

Anjali G.

Business Owner

Anjali holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science with major as Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics and Post Graduate diploma in Computer Science. She has worked with Fortune 500 organizations for over a decade on technology projects, helped create marketing strategy and managed global projects. Anjali is a certified and active member of Project Management professional of Chicagoland Chapter and also holds Black Belt certification in Lean Sigma. As she summarizes her learning’s: «Analytical skills developed by Math is THE KEY to success». Her appreciation to education and math in particular lured her to Mathnasium.

The best part about Mathnasium method is its ability to teach math in a way that makes sense to children. Anjali is excited about helping children learn a skill which will serve them in subjects beyond math. Beyond the campuses of high school and college.
