Something 2 Dance 2 MUST be the best DJ company out there. It would seriously be difficult to think of anything they need to improve upon. Our initial consultation with Tamara was incredible: she was friendly, enthusiastic and highly informative. She came up with a schedule and showed my daughter and her fiancé’ how to work with uploading song requests on the website. We met with our DJ Ron a couple weeks before the wedding and had every confidence that the night would go perfectly. He was the perfect combination of professionalism and fun. He emcee’d the whole evening and kept people dancing and engaged. We would highly recommend them to anyone!

We had Larry from Something to Dance to for our wedding in June. To say he was good would be a major understatement. Not only did he play all of the music my guests wanted to dance to, but he organized the whole event. Without him, we would have been running around with no clue what was going on. I appreciate all of the work he put in to make the wedding a complete success, I have never danced so much in my life!

Something 2 Dance 2 and their DJ Lorry were absolutely outstanding. Tamara helped us get organized early on with the questionnaire (which helped us structure what we needed to do too) and stayed in touch throughout our 18+ month engagement. We worked with Jay for our lighting and fabric décor and my wife assures me it was a stress-​free addition to our DJ contract.
Best of all, our DJ exceeded every expectation. We had Lorry, who was friendly and organized in our meeting. He helped coordinate all the aspects of the big day – from the pre-​ceremony logistics to finishing the tear down. Lorry entertained the guests with Bag-​O (Bags, Cornhole, whatever you call it regionally) in order to give us an opportunity to eat our dinner. From the moment the music started, the dance floor was packed and our guests raved about the song selection. He mixed in our must-​haves and avoided the few songs we blacklisted (I’m sure my fraternity brothers tried valiantly to persuade him otherwise too). After the last song, we literally had to clear everyone off the dance floor and out of the building because no one had left. Several people told me that Lorry was the best DJ they’d ever seen at a wedding. We could not have been more satisfied with Lorry or S2D2 overall.
S2D2 gives you great value for your money (more affordable than other DJs we considered too), excellent service, and fantastic people. If you are looking for a DJ and you haven’t considered them, stop reading these words and call Tamara and Jay right now. Seriously, right now.

We hired S2D2 as our DJ for our June 2014 wedding after seeing them at another family member’s wedding. Working with S2D2 (and Tamara in their office) was excellent from our very first contact through to the end of our wedding reception. Their online planning tool was a great way for us to keep our music selections and our details straight.
Our DJ Marc ran our reception perfectly from start to finish. He kept everything moving throughout the night and made sure the dance floor was rockin’! We could not have been more thrilled with S2D2 and would recommend them highly!

Something 2 Dance 2 is amazing! From day 1 they have been efficient and organized beyond our wildest dreams! They maintain amazing communication with clients and their online system is so convenient. Everyone we dealt with was so accommodating and flexible. We had Andrew as our wedding DJ and our day literally would not have worked without him. He listened to everything we as the bride and groom wanted and wasn’t pressured by the millions of requests from everyone else! He was everything! He was our leader, our comedian, our server (he refilled me drink twice! Too nice!), our clock, our mediator and the best DJ ever! We couldn’t have done it without him. Our dance floor was packed the whole night! He read the crowd so well and played such great music! This is such a wonderful well run company that really knows how to care for their clients. We highly recommend them to anyone and everyone!

Something 2 Dance 2 Rocks! They deliver more than what you pay for and provide the best celebration/​party of your marriage. Their online planning tool is great to use because it is easy and very helpful. DJ Mike did a very very good job for our wedding. My husband and I plus all 250 guest were super pleased and it showed with the amount of people on the dance floor the whole night. He kept the party going just like we wanted. Highly recommend these guys!

Something 2 Dance 2 is a professional DJ company. From start to finish, we had an excellent experience. We initially met with Jay to check out service and we knew it was the right fit when he took the time to get to know us and our story to match us up with a DJ that would be the right fit for us and our event. Plus, we had the security of knowing that there were other DJ’s that could fill in should there be a last minute emergency.
Lorry was the DJ for our wedding and he was EXCELLENT! Lorry is a true master of ceremonies. From start to finish, he make sure to set a timeline for our event and ensure the evening went smooth. We met with Lorry a couple of weeks before our wedding to go over all of our music choices and he actually suggested Vitamin String Quartet (VSQ) for pre-​ceremony music. We loved this and otherwise would have never have come across this group! Lorry was easy to work with and we just felt at ease which is so important in those final weeks leading up to the wedding. The last thing you want to worry about is if your DJ’s music choices are going to be compatible with what you and your guests like. Or worse, one of our friends had a private DJ (no company) that no showed for their wedding! We felt confident with Lorry and S2D2 and knew we were in good hands.
We did not have a wedding coordinator and we also had Lorry attend our rehearsal. He kept our rehearsal fun, got to know our wedding party and made sure we were prepared for the wedding day. AWESOME that S2D2 offers rehearsal coordinator services with your DJ too!
One of the things we liked best about working with S2D2 is their online planning tools. It helped us organize and remember all of the things we needed to include in our wedding. Cake cutting song, music for the bridal party to enter the reception to, music for the bride/​groom to enter the reception to, etc. Until you start planning, you just don’t realize how much music you need to select for your wedding day! Everything you do needs a song. The online tools walk you through the planning process step by step and save your song selections. There are also tons of song suggestions that you can click on for the ceremony, reception, first dance, cake cutting… helps you narrow it down if you just aren’t sure off the top of your head what the ideal song is to cut cake to!
We would highly recommend Something 2 Dance 2! We also used their sister company, Elegant Event Lighting. Impressed with both services!

I loved working with Something 2 Dance 2 for our wedding! Their online tools help you feel prepared well in advance, and the fact that they do a meeting ahead of time is also wonderful, and something I know not all companies do. Mike was our DJ, and he practice over and over to ensure that our names would be announced correctly which was important to me. Their online tools also helped because they offered suggestions, and also helped me think of all the different moments where I would need a song.
I felt their price was very reasonable, especially for all of the planning time ahead. The DJ even provided us with a timeline of the evening in advance, and checked in throughout the night which I loved (things like– your dance with your dad is in 5 minutes, I’m going to make sure he is ready to go too). I highly recommend them for any event!

Something 2 Dance 2 was so great! Everything I read on the Knot was true! Their wedding planning tools were extremely helpful and the planning meeting really put my mind at ease. Our DJ was Mike and he kept the music flowing and the party going. Our dance floor was packed all night long with all of our guests from age 6 to 60. He knew how to read the crowd and played everything we asked for and more!

We loved working with Jay Sims at S2D2 for our wedding reception! His company does a great job of matching up the right DJ for each event, and he happened to be ours. The online planning tools were incredibly helpful — it helps you to consider every facet of the event. It was a hike for us to drive from Hyde Park all the way to Schaumburg for our in-​person meeting with Jay, but was totally worth the time and effort. He put us at ease, really got to know us, and never acted as though a request was out of the realm of possibility. Jay gets full credit for coming up with the «Karaōke For A Kiss» idea — we wanted to avoid the «traditional» glass-​clinking stuff, and this suited our personalities (and our guests) much better! During the night, Jay stayed in the background making everything happen. He was exactly what we were looking for in a DJ, played all the songs we asked for, and assessed the crowd perfectly. Three cheers for S2D2!

We hired Something 2 Dance 2 for our wedding in April.
They were great to work with from the very start. Our DJ was Andrew and he was awesome! He laid out the agenda nicely for us, even though we were late to our own reception. Always asking us if were doing ok and if we need anything.
The only thing I didn’t like was he didn’t get to a lot of the songs we wanted on our list and played some that were definitely not on there. I understand he couldn’t play ALL of them, but we missed a few that both my husband and I really wanted to hear at our wedding.

I really wish their Ceremony price was in our budget… but it just wasn’t. :(We didn’t chose this company, but would defintely recommend their services to anyone because we did love the attention to detail they provide and they have fantastic reviews on Wedding Websites.
Tamara and her crew really do create a unique and fun atmosphere for your wedding. They literally act as your wedding coordinator and DJ so the couple is not worrying about anything.
I really hope we can enjoy this company at a wedding we attend!!!
