Style Encore

Stopped in for the first time and I think this is a great little find. I had only 30 min to shop and wish I had much more. I needed shorts so hit that first and scored 2 pair — White House Black Market $ 15 and NY Company $ 6. I also picked up a Rachel Roy dress $ 8 new with Nordstrom tags, Banana Republic top $ 9, new with tags and another Nordstrom brand top $ 9. I disagree they’re aimed for the senior crowd because I saw many fun, fashionable items. I just wish I had more time to look around. I didn’t look at the jeans, dresses, or short sleeve tops, as well as any shoes or accessories. I guess I’ll just have to come back!

I was really excited to finally get to this store, but unfortunately was very disappointed.
I have to agree with a previous review that says if you’re over the age of 60 this store is for you. Definitely not high end, designer clothes. Mostly target brand and just nothing stylish. I am a huge clothes mentor fan and will stick with that store, will not be returning here.
On the plus side the store was very nice, clean, organized, etc…
And the sales staff was very friendly, I was super impressed with the staff!
That’s where the three stars come in play.

I had a good experience here! Lots of great brands and not just target brands! yes there are some mixed in but I saw more brand names then anything. I bought a pair of brand new glitter TOMS for $ 16 tags still attached! like new Coach wedges for $ 20! A whole rack of maxi dresses (my summer fav) a lot of the clearance stuff the day I went was 70%! a lot of items actually still had the tags on them and were brand new! I walked out with a giant bag of stuff and spent about $ 70.
I did get some help from an older lady that day and she was wonderful. She chatted with me throughout and took an interest in what I was looking for. She seemed very genuine and offered to start a fitting room for me several times. She was great!
Now onto the reason I didn’t give a full 5 stars. Number one they don’t have carts or anything to carry around your finds in. This kinda sucks especially at a store like this where you kind of have to dig around for the good stuff. I literally was holding on to an armful of clothes, two maxi dresses, and two pairs of shoes. I would have stayed longer and possibly bought more if I had somewhere to put my stuff even a bag would have helped but nope nothing. On several occasions the staff even the nice older lady saw me struggling to carry everything while looking and no one offered to help me out. They could have at least asked me if they could set my things at the counter, nope nothing. There loss I would have bought more had they helped a girl out with a bag!
My second reason for the lost star is the women working at the register. Not friendly at all I think if she cracked a smile her face would have shattered. Sadly I think she is also the manager possibly owner a bit older and was training and explaining to another younger girl how to purchase items properly. I would think with your two biggest competitors literally next door and down the street you would spend a little more time working on customer service and talking with your customers. I said to her numerous times that this was my first time in the store and I found some great things and she just said yeah. and was more concerned with talking to the person she was trying to train. Took her forever to ring my stuff up too since her focus was on training and what was going on next to her. If they worked on the cart/​bag situation and customers service at the register this would be a 5 star store for sure!

Poor selection of clothes unless your over the age of 60! The prices aren’t even marked that much lower than the original! Staff is very snotty and rude, I walked out after being bullied for my attire! Disgusting clothes and disgusting staff

Not great customer service. Everyone I know who has brought clothes in and been «passed» on. Yet they want to give coupons to shop there. If you put on your website the brands you are accepting and people bring in those brands it’s kind of misleading. And I understand style and condition are also looked at, but we are not bringing in garbage. Just doesn’t seem like the best place to sell your things. Wouldn’t give my business to a place like this. Plenty of other high end second hand stores.

I had a great experience here and the staff was great.

A little bit of a let down. I have been following other Style Encore stores on Instagram building up my excitement for the local grand opening. Kate Spade, Banana Republic, J Crew.
Unfortunately, there was more Mossimo, (Target brand) Forever 21, and Express at this location than any other brand.
The target group is ages 25 – 34 but I do not think that falls in line with 2^nd hand big box clothing lines.
I am hoping they become more selective with purchasing new inventory.
3 stars for a very attentive staff.

Style Encore is the Goldilocks fable come true for selling my gently used clothing and accessories. Plato’s Closet is too young, Clothes Mentor is too mature, Style Encore is just about right.
Right now, this conveniently located (right off of I90 and Roselle) shop is just accepting items, but soon they’ll be open for sales as well. I completely blew up my closet and brought in a *ton* of clothing, from designer jeans, to dresses, to business-​type work clothing that I simply just don’t really wear anymore. From what they purchased, it looks like they’re skewing towards the 25 – 45 working woman with a nice variety of accessories and handbags, too. And while I’m pleased with the process and the cash in hand, I’m still a bit surprised by a few things that came home with me (i.e. things they didn’t want to purchase) — a 2012 Halston Heritage cocktail dress, an almost new pair of AG jeans, and a BCBG day dress.
The staff is always friendly and careful with everything I’ve brought in. Be aware that they can’t keep any of your items overnight, so be prepared to wait or come back the same day to pick up your items/​cash.
