We fix popular consumer electronics like computers, laptops, cell phones, smart phones, and tablets. Most local repair shops won’t take on water damage or other difficult repairs but at Zombie Techs we have all the tools and skills to overcome many of these obstacles and can provide our customers with a higher quality of repair than anyone else in the Northwest Suburbs. Zombie Techs is the fastest computer and cell phone repair team in the NorthWest Suburbs. We offer everyday low prices on computer and cell phone repairs that our competitors won’t touch. We are friendly, solution-​driven, and constantly educating ourselves on how to make technology more accessible to you. Zombie Techs is also a locally owned and operated small business with strong ties to the community of the Northwest Suburbs.

Zombie Techs was originally opened as Kamien Computers in 2010 when 90% of our business was in the Polish Community. We have changed our business name to Zombie Techs to meet the evolving demand for service. Our purpose is to create a single location whereby computer and cell phone users can have all of their service and product needs addressed in a friendly and easy way.

The business was started out of working at Geek Squad and realizing there was so many things they couldn’t do in-​store to help clients get their machinery working again. Landfills today are stuffed with electronics because not enough of them are making their way back to recycling facilities or they’re not practical to recycle. Moreover people are tossing out their computers and cell phones too quickly as new machinery becomes more powerful and affordable. I started Zombie Techs to give life back to broken computers, cell phones, and smartphones. Since 2010 we’ve repaired over 9000 electronics in the Northwest Suburbs. We hire the most talented technicians available who can repair technology that other companies consider beyond repair as they point you towards a new purchase. Our services are especially popular with Apple products given how expensive they are to replace versus how affordable we make repairs.

This place is great. Dropped by a few weeks ago with an iPhone whose screen kept popping off. We ended up needing a new screen altogether, and these guys assured me that the job would be done within half an hour (though we weren’t picking it up til the following day). They even stayed after closing to finish it up! On top of that, they were able to give us a good deal on a charging port replacement by bundling it with the screen repair. The two technicians here were professional, efficient, and provided excellent customer service all-​around. Much appreciated and keep up the good work Zombie Techs!

This place is garbage, I came into fix the screen on my iPhone and the screen cracked 3 days later in my pocket… I had a single key in my pocket with my phone… Cheap glass, cheap place. I hope they go out of business because when I came back in they told me tough luck.

This place is amazing.
I was having issues with a PC I built myself, and I honestly couldn’t figure out what I did wrong. My motherboard was shorting out constantly, they realized I forgot spacers between that and the PC, and I took it home. Then I realized Windows wouldn’t install, I had them look at it again, they figured out that I had shorted my motherboard completely. Not only did they not charge me for that, they held onto my PC until I could get the parts to fix it, and then hooked up my new motherboard for me. For 130 bucks total, I got my PC taken care of, and handled well, by great people.
This is the only place I will trust my PC.

My experience with Zombie tech started off a bit «scary» (pun intended!). They tried to repair my iPad screen but with Apple updating its iOS from 9.1 to not allow updates unless TouchID is linked to the processor, they couldn’t get it working after the screen repair. Not only were they very honest about it but they replaced my iPad Mini !! Totally unexpected and professional. I would go back to them again — however, be careful about replacing iPhones/​iPads with TouchID — check it out completely before going ahead. Good Job — Zombie Techs — you are not scary at all!

Brought in my daughter’s laptop when she was home for a long weekend from college. We just walked in — no appointment. The tech who came to the front desk powered it up, did some quick diagnosis, and quickly discerned the OS needed rebuilding/​reinstalling. I explained that my daughter needed to get back to college in a couple days and we needed it quickly. They complied, turned it around, were thorough, accurate in their quick diagnosis, and fixed everything fine.
Ironically, my daughter took the laptop to the tech people on her college campus — they had it for a week — and couldn’t figure it out.
So… we were both really impressed that these guys diagnosed it correctly in 5 minutes and turned it around overnight.

First took my 5 year old HP laptop to the «other» well-​known geeks after their phone techs told me they could repair the screen (dead pixels across the screen ½ wide). Got to the store and they flat out said, we don’t fix laptops that are more than a couple years old. I told them that I would not have bothered making the trip if their phone techs had told me otherwise (they also knew make/​model/​age). I realize now, that to placate me, they agreed to send it to repair for $ 35 min diagnostic fee and said it would take 3 weeks. The laptop was returned 7 days later with nothing done «parts no longer avb for equipment that old — could try getting from HP myself and having it installed elsewhere». Total waste of time and hardly a subtle ploy to sell me a new laptop. The Zombie Techs had it repaired perfectly w/​in a week and for a very reasonable price. Oddly, the unit would not fire up when I went to pick it up – they kept it another day after learning that the motherboard failed. I fully planned to play for the additional repair but they said that since it happed while in their possession, there was no charge. He said «we don’t work like some car repair shops trying to hit you up for extra charges». Everything been working fine since. I highly recommend them!

Not a favorable experience. Had my 5c in today to repair the cracked screen. I called ahead. They said it would take 30 mins. I got there and they said there were other customers ahead of me and it’ll be over an hour. Ok. Fine. They quoted me a price and I left my phone. Nearly 1.5hrs later my son (asked them to call him) got the call to get my phone. Ever since I got it, the touch screen has been sluggish and now there is a dark spot in the lower right hand corner. I’ve lost calls, hung up on ppl and there is a strange speaker rattling in the ear piece. I called and they asked me to come back in so they can fix it, again. This time it’ll only be 30 minutes. I think I just want my money back and I’ll go to another place.
This post was originally written 2 days after I got the new screen. I had inadvertently delayed the posting by not hitting the continue button (3 weeks later). Then mistakenly I hit update giving this place 2 negative reviews. Guess what? They deserve it. Phone is passed their odd 28 day warranty and I sound muffled when I’m on the speaker phone and I’m still having screen issues. I’m glad Unilocal removed my other post (brought to their attention by the «community» aka the techs) so I can refresh this one. Try the guys in Barrington, their reviews are better, a bit pricier but I’m sure they won’t flag you’re reviews.

These guys know their stuff. Prices are fair. I would try doing some of these repairs myself, but because the cost of components, and the fact that they guarantee their work, I am willing to pay the marginal difference. Just had an iPhone 6 display replaced and it only took an hour between drop off and pickup.

I had my iPhone 5S fixed here today. My phone was cracked completely and I wasn’t able to use it. I walked in during my lunch hour and had it fixed within 30min. My phone looks and works like new. I recommend zombie techs to anyone that needs iPhone repair.

This happened several months ago. I think it was around July 2014?

Glass cracked and they had the best price. I got what I paid for. I think I paid $ 120
1. They didn’t have it ready when they said they would.
2. glue wasn’t dry and kept oozing out.
3. they said it would stop and it didn’t
4. they asked me to bring it back so they could fix it. They put in a new glass? Don’t know why but ok?
5. STILL oozing glue. Gave it back to them to put under the UV light. STILL OOZING.
6. they said give it a couple of weeks. I did and it was STILL oozing.
7. They cracked the internal frame and it cost me extra to fix at the next place.
8. SO FRUSTRATED that I gave up and didn’t like my phone and was careless and cracked it again AND broke the lcd.
9. Took it to another place and he was GREAT (see my post). He used to troubleshoot mainframes. He said that they «probably» didn’t use a mold to hold the phone face down so the glue doesn’t go into the body. Tried to clean the glue but it was EVERYWHERE and now my camera takes fuzzy pics.
10. The buttons on the bottom of the phone wasn’t lighting up and he put in a spare for free. 210 for the glass and lcd and another 30+ for the internal frame. Cost me 270 to repair but was worth it.

The «So Called Manager» Rocky doesn’t even know what the customer service is all about. Very Arrogant, so unprofessional and totally Non sense … I was ready to give my laptop for repair to them but it was this guy Rocky’s unprofessional attitude that I decided not to give my laptop to them. A Complete waste of time

The customer service was really bad!
When I called the store and asked for a quote to repair my phone they said something else and when I went to the store it was 50 dollars more. And on top of that they said that they could not have quoted a lower price than that. I will never go to these people again. They wasted my lunch hour.

The wifey recently dropped our laptop so we brought it over here for them to take a look at it. We explained what happened and they took it around back to their work station to have a look at it. They explained that it was a hard drive problem and that they could replace it. I don’t recall the price for parts and labor so I might not be of help for others looking for insight.
In general they were helpful and knowledgeable. For this specific scenario I figured I could replace on my own for cheaper. I’ve never brought my laptop to a place for repair but if I desperately needed to I would come here again.
