Anna and her team did a beautiful job on making my bridesmaids look gorgeous for our wedding day. I was really impressed with how responsive they were to my questions beforehand and Anna provided some great suggestions for the wedding day that I never would have thought of. Even when there were last minute changes to the schedule, Anna was on it and helped out so that it didn’t end up impacting the wedding timeline. I can’t thank the team enough for making my ladies feel and look beautiful for the special day!

Dropped into Faust to see if they had any thoughts on attractive styles for very thin, very fine hair. They were so knowledgeable and had such great ideas that I scheduled an appointment for the same week. Jennifer gave me a shampoo with Ivati and a deep conditioner that left my hair in better shape than it has been for over a year! She then gave me an orbi (?) haircut. The haircut allowed me to keep most of my length (a little past shoulder length), something that is seldom done with thin, fine hair. Even with my hair back in a ponytail, compliments are flying in. When my hair is down everyone is impressed. I keep touching it and looking in mirrors because Jennifer has done the impossible, I look like I have more hair than I actually do! I am back in love with my hair.
Jennifer was a pleasure to just hang out with. She is down to earth, fun to talk with and has over a decade of experience in the hair industry. She knows what she is doing but has more interests than appearance — so refreshing in someone with so much talent. Do you have thin, fine hair? Is your hair brittle? I recently received a cut from Paola after many years of performing my own trims on my very long hair. I self admittedly have a hard time trusting others with my hair but she put me at ease right away and I love my shorter cut. I now look forward to going to the salon for hair cuts!
I also received a facial and brow shape from Myriah. I very much appreciated her level of expertise and professionalism — plus she was so down to earth I immediately felt comfortable and relaxed speaking with her. The services were fantastic and my skin has never felt better. Anna is amazing!!! She is so down to earth and sweet as pie! Agreed to meet me last minute at 6 am to get me ready for my wedding, with one weeks notice. The morning of, she greeted me and calmed most of my nerves. (A few hours before my wedding was to take place… not easy) so thankful I found her! Makeup was flawless and easy on the eyes, very timeless. My hair was classy and just cute! The entire experience was unlike any other. Fell in love with Anna and her amazing service! Make this your one stop beauty shop! Well worth it!!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH Anna, Lisa and Nina for helping me love my hair again! I came in SO frustrated after a horrible experience at another salon and the ladies @ Faust were just as sweet as could be. They listened to my concerns about the inability to cover my gray and have it last for any length of time and suggested the Aveda Deep color line. I booked my appointment 2 days later and VOILA! I now have hair that FEELS AND LOOKS 10X better! Their prices are fair and the location is great. Recommending Faust to all my friends!

Faust Salon in Scotts Valley is by far THE BEST salon I have ever been to. There aren’t enough adulatory adjectives to adequately describe this business: wonderful, awesome, excellent, outstanding, fabulous, first-​class, top-​drawer, cream-​of-​the-​crop, and sans pareil !
I have been a client at Faust for 5 years and have loved every service I have had there. Anna is the type of manager we all wish we had in our working lives. She is an outstanding business person who understands how to keep both her clients and her employees happy. Anna runs the business end of the salon smartly and professionally. She is incredibly warm, friendly and fun with clients, caring and fair with her employees, completely involved with and deeply knowledgeable about every aspect of the salon. Anna is genuinely interested in getting to know her clients and remembers the details of their service preferences. She is well-​versed in her product lines and will happily recommend hair and skin care options but is never pushy. I have been very happy with the suggestions Anna has had for me over the years. Above all, Anna has created a very happy, warm, supportive, and positive atmosphere at the salon which fosters a sense of calm and well-​being in all who enter. I always feel happy and relaxed after a visit to Faust.
The primary two stylists who have worked on my hair, Brodie and Marissa, are excellent. I have always been pleased with my cut, color, and styling. They are both incredibly lovely people who are a joy to spend time with and who possess a natural sense of artistry, color, and style. They are always respectful of my preferences but also make excellent suggestions based on years of experience in knowing how to bring out the best in a client’s hair and overall look. I feel so lucky to have had these two wonderful hair stylists over the years.
Faust also offers facials, waxing, massage etc. all performed by wonderful highly professional people – go ahead and make an appointment today – you will leave feeling renewed, revitalized, and ready for anything!

I’ve written a review previously, but it has been 2 years now, and having just come from the salon, I wanted to write a more updated comment. Not that I have anything much to add, hey 5 stars is 5 stars. As I said before, I’ve been coming here since I moved back to the area from the east coast, and was worried about my hair still looking as good as it did on the super style conscious east coast (well, the non-​humid days on the east coast…).
I needn’t have worried. Anna and my girl Lisa, (and Nina, Marissa, Whitney, heck everyone here) is amazing. Color, cut, waxing, this salon has become my go-​to, one-​stop shop for most of my girly needs.
I love you guys!!!

I’ve been seeing Nina (the Scotts Valley Nina!!) for two years, and she is one of my favorite people. When I enter the salon, she greets me with such genuine kindness and happiness to see me… it’s delightful. She totally «gets» me, too, and knows how I function. She knows how I like the water temperature; she knows I prefer less crowded times so I can zen out. She remembers how I style my hair, and she’s an amazing communicator. You can tell she loves her job, and it shows. The way she hand-​details my hair is GREAT! Every cut, every highlight is perfect, and I always leave feeling my very best. She’s truly the best of Faust!

Been meaning to write this forever. I’ve been coming to Faust for about 3 years and they are just fantastic! I started coming here when I lived in Felton, but even after moving to San Jose a year and a half ago I still wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else.
I see Marissa for all my hair needs– cut, style, color, treatments, etc, and she rocks all of it. She has always been able to figure out and do exactly what I wanted. She’s also a very enjoyable person to know — friendly, fun, caring. We talk about movies, books, life, you name it.
Anna, the owner, is also completely wonderful. She makes me feel so welcome and taken care of every time I’m here. I also enjoy the many and varied conversations we have.
I highly recommend Faust! They are great people, knowledgeable and skilled, and they really look after you here.

I went here for a massage while traveling from out of town. I normally go to female massage therapists, so when I saw I had a male one I didn’t know what to expect. Max was incredible! It was the best massage I have ever had and I have had many! I would recommend him to anyone looking for an indulgent and stress relieving massage! Thanks Max!

Let me just say… WOW. I came to this place as a referral. I have had a stylist for years that I love do my hair. And in a pinch for a wedding and my stylist was sick I came here. I was welcomed instantly with happy faces and friendly staff. Walking in. My hair was 3 different colors (oops. My own fault) and I wanted to go to my natural brown/​blonde hair. Paola and Anna took fabulous care of me and I walked out looking like a million bucks! I would recommend this place to anyone … They are wonderful!
Getting hair done by someone you don’t know can be scary as I have had many bad experiences. This place rocks and will take good care of you. Great product was used on my hair and for the treatment you get. It’s worth every penny.

My hair stylist went M.I.A. but I’m glad she did because I got to meet Paola. She’s an awsome hair stylist and light years better than my old one. She gave me great tips on how to manage my hair. I will definitely be going back to see Paola and I would highly recommend her.

I love my makeup trial for my wedding. It’s been hours already and my skin doesn’t look oily or shiny. Anna listened to me and didn’t overpower my face but accentuated my features and just made me look like me on my best day!

After reading some awesome reviews I decided to get a haircut here. I called in and got an appointment with Paola within a half an hour of calling, so I was stoked.
The staff was very courteous and I felt hopeful. I came armed with photos and was pretty specific about what I wanted.
Paola was very sweet and gave an awesome head massage with shampoo but halfway through the cut let me know her son was waiting at his school with no one to pick him up and that the school was calling. I let her know I understood and that I would wait if she needed to make a phone call and make arrangements for him. She seemed very rushed, and then she let me know her daughter needed to be picked up as well at three. Uumm… I can empathize with having to work and juggling kids but I also felt like I was paying on the higher end for a cut and that I was rushed and my cut came out looking unfinished. I am bummed with the haircut and the lack of professionalism. I definitely don’t feel like I got a $ 65 haircut. Maybe I caught her on a bad day, I’m sure she’s awesome when she’s focused on her client but it was not that day for me! My search for the perfect stylist continues…

Anna at Faust in Scotts Valley is a true artist. After an unsuccessful bridal makeup trial with another salon, a friend recommended I go see Anna. I have a very fair complexion and strawberry blond hair so I was looking for someone who could create a glamorous look without making me appear painted or mannequin-​like. I was having an outdoor boho wedding and wasn’t going for the «Mac look.» Anna sat down with me and listened carefully to what I wanted. She reassured me that she could alter anything I wanted if it wasn’t to my taste. She gave me individual false lashes (which stayed on throughout my honeymoon!), a dewey complexion with foundation and perfectly applied lipstick. Beautiful! And the makeup lasted throughout my entire wedding day!
I was so impressed with this salon that I have gone back for more eyelashes, a fab blow out and next up a facial with Susan. Every time I feel pampered and like it’s a «high end» experience. So refreshing for Santa Cruz! The only thing I wish was different is the name. There are a few other Fausts in Santa Cruz area and this one should not be compared to them. Five stars for Faust in Scotts Valley!

I wanted to like this salon since it is so close to my home. However, I don’t think I could recommend this salon to anyone.
The young lady that cut and colored my hair was nice but I had to have her re-​color my hair. It still looked awful after the re-​color.
I received a facial and I really like the way it turned out. She was the saving grace for this salon.
The young lady that was working the cashier station was very difficult to work with. She rang me up for product I did not buy. If I had not looked at my receipt carefully I would not have noticed. When I went back in the salon to speak with her about it she was very rude. She did not know how to reverse the charges so I had to stand there for over 30 minutes while someone helped her. She continued to take customers leaving me standing there waiting on her to assist me.

I’m really bummed about not loving this salon. It is close to my work. The stylist I used is super nice and did a great job on my hair but both times I have left I felt like I paid more than I ever had before and I’ve been to Salon’s all over the Bay Area. Because the last salon I frequented was in Pleasanton, I asked a few of my friends that work on «the other side of the hill» and they confirmed that those prices are not close to what I would pay in even Palo Alto.
First time I got a new color, a few foils on the top, and a hair cut for $ 220 plus they talked me into buying $ 100 of product. Kind of the normal new salon stuff…
The second time I was charged $ 120 for a full color root touch up,. No foils, no hair cut.
I’m going to another salon next time. I love the color but I’m sure that I can find similar service for a more reasonable price.

Faust is amazing!
I was hesitant to come since it’s a chain (there’s a Faust salon in Capitola and Santa Cruz), but I’m so glad I took a chance.
This Faust has incredible talent!
Marissa bleaches my hair and she is able to get it pale enough to tone white!
Before coming here I had heard «Your hair is just too dark» and other words of discouragement. I cannot stress enough how incredible it is that Marissa can take my hair to this level, I’ve been to numerous salons in Santa Cruz since coming to college and I have always wanted my hair this light; unfortunately most salons weren’t able to take me there thus I ended up with random hair colors.
Come here if you want a bleach job done right!
Additionally, Anna recently did my make up for my graduation photos and it looks great! She really does an excellent job and I’m so glad I decided to go to her instead of trying to do it myself since the photos will be a lasting memory.
