Camden Legacy

Long story short, DO NOT LIVE HERE:
4 reasons why:
Parking: Rarely will you find a parking spot. Many times I have to park across the street at the Target parking lot and walk across. If I’m lucky I’ll find a spot on the opposite side of the complex.
Only one main entrance: So if it’s after office hours you can only enter the complex through the main gate. So if you work north east from this complex (which is unlikely since that is a canal and mostly an shrubs) expect to only enter through the main gate.
Maintenance: Our water is constantly being shut off. One time with 15 min warning. There was a time when the water was off overnight so we Weren’t able to shower before bed, brush our teeth, use the toilet, etc.
I’m assuming the problem with the water is going to be a constant problem due to the age of the complex.
Towing: Unknown to me, if you don’t update your registration on your tags immediately your car will be towed at your expense by their partners at quick towing.
Hidden fees: a couple months into our lease we started getting this mysterious 38 dollar fee included in our rent charge. We received a notice of the break down… Turns out it’s for water and trash; however, we were never informed of this charge upon signing our lease and why wasn’t it in effect the first couple of months?

Repairs made same day, large closets, nice size laundry room. big balconies. Just perfect, location, location they always say, and this is it

Parking is HORRIBLE, Sometimes I have to walk 10 minutes to get a spot if I’m lucky. But be warned they will tow your car within minutes of you parking in the wrong spot.
This place is a joke, do not move in here.
They give you only 48 hours to declare any problems with your apartment before you move in, and I don’t know about the rest of you but usually I am unpacking for those two days to notce things that are wrong.
The staff is terrible. They don’t care about anything at all like noise ordinances as really early in the morning they hire people with leaf blowers and chainsaws as early as 6am.
Go look somewhere else for an apartment these guys may seem fair priced, but there are way better apartments to move to.
I really hate this place and regret moving here

I have lived here for a little over a year and it is great. It is quiet and the grounds are kept clean. Maintenance is fast and gets the job done and the office staff is nice. The layout and high ceilings are what sold me plus a decent amount of natural light. Also, if you want to be close to Barrett Jackson and the WM Open you are in the rite place and only a $ 15 Über ride to spring training and $ 20ish to Old Town.
I don’t really have anything negative besides my AC unit was terrible this summer but they seemed to get it fixed (hopefully). The demographics of the area seem to be a little older. I will agree with other people that parking is terrible but every apartment complex seems to have that issue.
I recommend this place if you want a good value, location and a nice place to live.
Oh and the person who complained about lizards… You live in the desert…

Their website would not let us pay rent on the third (the deadline) but we thought it went through. They fined us and refused to refund. Then they sent a lawyer to our door with a notice about terminating our lease AFTER we paid in full! After being scared of a stranger at our footstep coldly handing us papers we called that day and were told to disregard. Then the following WEEK we get a USPS notification that we have to pick up something from the post office in Scottsdale. Having been very recently married my husband waited in line thinking maybe it was a gift from a loved one. After TWO HOURS of post office wait time it was ANOTHER notice threatening to terminate our lease. Again, their website was what would not accept payment. All over one day. One day late for THEIR fault and not only did a rude cruel lawyer serve us a letter but then two hours of our time wondering what arrived at the post office that couldn’t be delivered to our box only to be another threat to kick us out. We’ve lived here for years and this is how we were treated. DONT MOVE HERE!!! It doesn’t matter how long you lived here or how timely your payments are they don’t care and you cannot argue anything with them. It’s LITERALLY in their corporate policy to never refund a fine, the woman at the front office was so kind as to inform us of this. This is a horrible awful miserable company that exists to enforce fines, fees, and anything to mistreat people and get their money. Horrible place to live and horrible experience, I wish I could give zero stars. Don’t bother escalating a complaint, no one cares. If your considering moving here know that you’re alone and the company will NEVER AND I MEAN NEVER accept accountability. The customer is always wrong here.

First and foremost, my apartment is great, including an attached garage, and my own laundry room. I was able to put my king size bed in the master bedroom, the kitchen has more cabinet than I can fill, flooring is ripe and ready to retire. I love it and the rent price is perfect. The staff is very nice and professional, maintenance is great too. If it was not for the following I would give it 5 stars.
BUT:
1 — Valet trash is now $ 35 per month, and we are at their service, we need to put our trash out by a certain time, in their own garbage can. I got fined several times $ 25 because I was a little off the schedule, and because I just put out the trash bag outside of their container. many times they did not collect my trash (and no you cannot fine them).
2 — Camden signed a new deal with COX for cable/​internet, under the old deal, I had upgraded to services that are now provided in the new deal (internet and more TV channels), well I am stuck in paying both, my upgrade to COX because it was a 2 year contract, and the mandatory COX subscription through Camden. Additionally i would prefer to use Century Link for TV because they have an offer that I prefer, but since I have to pay through Camden I am stuck. Camden should propose extra services, but not make them mandatory, it take freedom away, and cost more.
3 — Outrageous pet fees you get a cat (not sure for dogs) you have to pay $ 150 deposit, $ 300 fee (wonder why) AND $ 35/​month extra, so $ 720 first year, $ 420 afterwards, it costs more than the vet.
4 — There is no out mail box. Odd, you want to mail a letter you have to go… elsewhere. There is a courtesy open box in the office, but it is only when the office is open, and then, it is still not mailed, it is in a box in the office, what if they forget to mail it, if someone take the letter. The office is at the opposite side of the property from the mail boxes. Camden should arrange with Postal Services to have a collection box in the mail box area, or to have the mailman collect out mail left in each resident’s mail box.
5 — Visitors parking are very sparse, but they asked the city authorization to park on the street adjacent to the property (90^th place).
6 — They no longer accept packages for residents because lifestyle has changed and people receive too many packages. It is true, yet, when cars came along if managers back then would have adopted the same attitude, instead of adjusting and building parking spots, they would have asked their tenants to park somewhere else. Camden needs to adjust to residents demand and find a solution to adjust to their time.
Then again, after having reviewed many other apartments in the same area, my conclusion is that Camden Legacy offers the best you can get for the price, most comparable apartments I visited run $ 400 to $ 700 more than mine per month and are not necessary nicer, bigger or with more amenities.

Looked at a two bedroom with garage. Beautiful apartment. Kind of pricey but offering me a lower rent if I do a 15 month lease. Parking seems scarce. Seriously considering renting here.

Just moved here and we love it! Our apartment is really big! Self cleaning oven, big bathtubs, big bedrooms, pet friendly –bringing our Great Dane here soon. I really like it so far! Only downsides — parking is really bad! You only get one assigned spot and if you have two cars, you will need to park at least one in a visitor spot. Visitor spots are far and few in between! I usually find one because I work odd hours and by the time I come home at 1pm, I usually find a spot. But then I am fearful of going somewhere because I don’t want to have to park really far when I get back. You can rent an extra space for $ 25 I think. The landscapers are here a lot and a loud leaf blower usually wakes up my boyfriend every now and then. Really large laundry room. Balcony that faces the pool, which is open 24 hours.
We moved in and our apartment smelled really bad! Like a smoker or something. also our A/​C unit was leaking and the closet next to it smelled like mold/​cat piss — super gross! Luckily, management and maintenance were quick to address our concerns and fix the problems — they definitely redeemed themselves! Excited to live here for the next year!

Roaches, Roof Rats, Lizards, Horrible parking, linoleum floors peeling up, and a flood. That was all in our first and last 28 days. Any of those issues by themselves would be excusable, all of them combined reflect poorly on property management and their overall ability to manage.
The flood was terrible, we took on 2 inches of water from a monsoon. During the flooding, I took my dog outside only to run into a bystander who told me she lived in the exact same apartment which flooded 3 times on her, this made me question why I wasn’t informed of this before renting as to tell me I should have carried flood insurance. The complex did not reimburse me for hotel stay that night however they covered the pet fee for the hotel? There was also an elderly couple who has had their apartment flood 3 times who I witnessed storming out of the office screaming they would be calling their attorney. Renting the apartment to us and not disclosing it’s high propensity to flood is not only unethical, I would presume it’s illegal.
The next few days were hell, 6 apartments total have been gutted from the carpet up to 24″ of drywall. Camden offered us a whole bunch of options, none of which were suitable. Worse apartments for the same amount of money. When we tried to get a bigger apartment for a marginal discount ($ 100 less than asking per month) we were told they can’t do it.
This community is NOT luxury, it is mediocre living for luxury prices.
The only positive experience we had with Camden was their willingness to honor their 30 day guarantee and let us find a better complex to call home for the next 15 months.
Also have it be known, the girls in the office and the maintenance guys are awesome. I have every reason to believe they are not given the tools nor support from corporate to do the right things. They will never succeed at anything other than churning and burning residents.
PROCEED WITH CAUTION IF GETTING AN APARTMENT IN THE BACK OF THE PROPERTY BETWEEN THE SMALLER POOLS!!!
Oh and one more note… This place is so dark at night in the parking lot and right up to your front door. I’m 6’2″ 215lbs and the parking lot had me sketched out.

Ashley and Alex have been great since day one. The apartment is beautiful, and comfortable. Service response is almost immediate. I’m almost excited to go home since is so pleasant. Thank you Camden for such a great service!

Worst place ever, me and my girlfriend put down a deposit on a apartment to live here but quickly decided we didn’t want to live here anymore. Trying to get ahold of a real person rather a robot is like trying to win the lottery. Lauren was the person we were dealing with and she’s absolutely horrible and downright rude. Every time we went in to see her, she was never there, it was like she only worked only every 3^rd Wednesday of the month, she wasn’t very helpful.
Personally I believe this place charges way to much and doesn’t care about the community, they take your money and run. 35 for valet trash? Lol okay where is that money going? I’d rather throw that in the trash then have them take that money and pay their piece of shit employees like Lauren with it. This place tries to play that it’s a Audi when in reality it’s a Geo Metro with some graphics on it. Don’t waste your TIME or MONEY.

Love this cute little community. It has everything you can imagine from three beautiful sparkling pools with cabanas, to little green belts to walk, free ice cream and other frozen treats in the main office, movies to rent and friendly staff. I think the biggest take away is the timeliness of maintenance… they fix any issue you may have immediately. I lived in San Carlos for a year too, but maintenance was horrid… it took days even weeks to fix… that’s if they even remembered! My lease is up shortly and I’m hoping to renew if prices stay fair. I have two daughters so feel very safe in this neighborhood. I would recommend this complex to anyone! :)

Camden legacy is a wonderful community. I just moved in and am really enjoying. Living here. The amenities are top notch and the staff is very accommodating. I looked at many places before choosing Camden and I am happy to call this home

My new husband and I have lived here for about three months now and have loved it here at Camden. The mini bark park has saved us from our lab going bonkers in our apartment and the area has so much to do. The technology package is phenomenal and maintenance has been extremely helpful and quick. The only complaint we would have is the mandatory valet trash service and would love for the apartments to eventually replace their carpeting with hard flooring or for the clubhouse to offer a carpet cleaner/​rug doctor for residents to check out and rent. :) We would recommend this complex to others!

I’ve lived here for several months, and I must say, this place is great. I love the community events and they are very responsive to maintenance request.
The landscaping is always on point and their email notifications are always timely.

I’ve lived here for just over a year and have had a good experience. Recently renewed my lease. The staff is responsive and it’s generally a quiet community which is good for those who work early hours. Occasionally there will be free tacos.
Guest parking is limited, but you have the opportunity to reserve a second parking space for a small fee each month which is worth it if you enjoy entertaining.
The apartments themselves are great and well maintained. Very new appliances and nice floors, counters, etc… I have never had a woman back at my place who didn’t compliment it immediately. Maybe it’s the paint. Maybe I’m just good looking.
The location is also a plus as food, shopping, bars are all very close by. It’s convenient.
The only thing I don’t like is that you are charged for valet waste even if you don’t use it. Leaving trash out side your door just attracts flies and I would rather just carry it down myself. But still charged. Oh well, life goes on.
Overall, Camden is a nice place to live and I plan on continuing my stay here until my yacht is finished up and docked.

We have lived at Camden for 1 and a half years now. Some things are great while others could be better. I think the biggest downfall has been the upkeep of amenities since we extended our lease (for a hefty price). If I am paying a base rate of over $ 1200 for an older community where I face frank lyod wright and have to listen to the commotion, I hope basic amenities would be taken care of i.e. the gym had nothing sanatize, always garbage causing ants in the pool area, … otherwise community is quite and most are very friendly. Feels like a home development community not an apartment community and apartments are very spacious.

Seriously, super overpriced and a crummy layout. Soooo small for what you pay. Not to mention, there is NEVER open parking! Ever! Such a pain

Their Valet trash is absolutely ridiculous! You have no choice but to pay an additional $ 25 a month for the service. They don’t pick up your garbage on time and then you have to take it to the dumpster while still paying them $ 25 a month. If you put out your trash too early you get fined $ 25. (Sorry to those of you who work 2 jobs or have a life after of work) and don’t forget to put the trash bag in their labeled trash can or You will incur another $ 25 fee. Too many rules for trash it’s absurd.
