I visited this casino/​conference center in the springtime, during the Maywheater/​Pacquiao fight to be exact. I am just now catching up on my reviews, so pardon my delay.
We arrived at the convention center/​casino in the evening hoping to catch the fight, eat some great food, have a few cocktails and maybe a tiny bit of gambling. The viewing room was full, but the cost to see the fight was pretty minimal, so I was disappointed. We opted for food.
We walked into several offerings in the casino looking for that perfect «casino meal» that we are used to from Vegas and Sacramento. Several of the restaurants looked less than appetizing, even the buffet, which I thought was odd. We finally settled on a sushi spot.
The casino is replete with smokers, as is any casino, and older people seemingly spending that retirement money and a few shady types as well. The usual casino crowd.
I thought there were minimal games, tables and so forth. The place was pretty dated and really not well organized. I might be Vegas spoiled, but I feel like any casino should be inviting and friendly. It makes you want to spend time and money, and since we could not see the fight, well, we needed to find something to do there.
I will say the management of the casino is on point if there is an issue to resolve. We did have a problem with one of the restaurants and they went out of their way to try and fix it, but we declined. We just did not want to stay at that particular spot, free food, room or whatever. We just wanted to leave. I do thank them for trying.

I want to write a follow-​up review to give stars to the management team. Today they exuded customer service in following up with my poor experience and refunding my spa experience as requested. I really appreciate the efforts and they’re commitment to their guests and look forward to giving the hotel another try.

My family and I travel here quite a bit. A few times a month. It is so relaxing and a perfect place to just get away from it all. The views here are absolutely breath taking! The resort is beautiful and the room are spacious. We have stayed in both king room and a double queen room. There is always more than enough room for my son to play. They are also extremely clean and smell fresh. The pool are is huge and really fun and relaxing. They have a really nice putting area, fire pit and even a spray fountain for the kids to run around in. The staff are amazing! They always go out of their way to make your stay wonderful and genuinely seem to care. You get a great sense of respect, which is rare these days. They actual hotel restaurant is fantastic. A bit slow at times but the food is super good and the price is and average of $ 15. They even have a 99 cent kids menu! The golf course is in excellent condition year round. It is our number two course in the state and we are avid players. Honestly there is really nothing to complain about. We love coming here! Its almost like a second home!

I would have to say, that my over all was Good. The DJ played a great mix of music. She kept the party going! There were Alot of activities for the kiddies to do! The pools, were on point and so were the guest. It was a party atmosphere, for the holiday weekend. They even put up a movie by the pool, for the kids… saw the adults out there too. Short walk to the casino… basically across the walk way… NOW…For the NOT so pleasant… The front desk person. was speaking to a guest. I was behind him. She was all (Amber) smiles in his face, when he turned around. She made a face at him. Idk why… it was a very quite conversation. I was up next, she put that fake smile on her face, real fast to me… I just LOOKED at her bitch ass… Im sure she did the same to me… behind my back… Prepaid, for my room. Called the hotel, in advance of check in. Are there any fees at check in… was told 2x’s…No. That’s a lie. They charge you the $ 20 resort fee. If you buy on groupon, it doesn’t include the tax and fees. My friend did the groupon. They charge you on the way out. Asked, if they hold funds… was told No… lie…they hold $ 50 on your card. I’ve traveled ALOT and been in ALOT of hotels. They don’t always charge a check in fee… WeKoPa does. They should disclose this, on your website. The food, is expensive and they auto tip in the total. Found this out late, cuz I was tipping them… smdh…The rooms are basic/​adequate. Try to get the mountain side. They do have late check out till 3pm. Make sure you call early, before they run out.
Btw If you do the special on Groupon for $ 89, that does not includes the taxes. They do give you a $ 10 slot play, but you can’t find the machines with frigging CROWNS on it to play it.

I have zero negative to say. Clean, spacious, smartly laid out. Seemed to have a bunch of locksmiths on convention there. One fellow, pretty sure he was a kiwi, was smuggling a sheep up to his room, not sure what that was about but to each his own.

Hotel is newly remodeled located near fort McDowell. Our conference was held here this weekend. From the catered BBQ to the rooms, overall excellent experience. The entire hotel has new carpet, the rooms are very clean and the burger at the restaurant downstairs was great.

While the staff here overall was very nice, especially the concierge — the spa service unprofessional. From young aged massage therapists with more sparkling eye makeup and lip gloss than is appropriate for a professional spa, to a therapist that inflamed the back of one of our party likely due to inexperience, the spa felt like it needs a step up in attention. Overall, while the golf is amazing, the service, especially at the spa, while well intended. is below par.

Nicely maintained golf course. However, it is tricked out so much that they are kidding themselves to expect a 4 and a half hour round or less. Between all the useless waste areas in the middle of fairways, long holes (yes, we played the tees rated for our indexes) and so many golfers playing it for the first time trying to figure out how to navigate it; you’ll have a Marshall show up letting you know you are 10 minutes behind pace. We played both courses and while we were loving the course conditions we were not impressed by the player assistants. Bags that were left overnight were soaking wet the next morning, bags the staff loaded on incorrect carts and needing moved were greeted grudgingly, requests to check for items left in carts needing retrieval were met with lack of interest. With the right staff, GPS in the carts like most high end courses, and an outside staff that was more interested in their customers, this course would rate five stars. As it is, the course gets two for its condition, no stars for the staff or carts.

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. We did not receive the room we paid for and was not granted a room credit. Items also went missing from our room and the hotel showed no interest in helping us retrieve them. On a more basic level, the front desk staff couldn’t even answer simple questions like: are there changing rooms at the pool, is there a walking trail nearby, and can we have plates for the empty kitchen in our suite? I will never return here or recommend it to anyone. Do yourself a favor and don’t visit WeKoPa. I typically only post positive reviews but my experience here was so bad that I had to share it.
