Hampton Inn

I have stayed in a lot of Hampton Inns in my time. I found this one to be pretty good. All staff greeted you the second they saw you. They wanted to make sure all your needs were met. Our room was clean and serviced daily. Our bed was made a little weird, but nothing to complain about. We had a nice breakfast in the morning and cookies in the evening. The only thing that made me uncomfortable was the bridge next to this building. It is being repaired and sits very close to the building as you will see in my photo. Other than that all was good.

A good hotel in the Scranton Area
I spent two weeks in this hotel in September.
The service is very good. The staff in the lobby has always been very kind and they helped me with everything I needed. There is a complimentary breakfast included and it offers a good choice of everything.
The rooms are nice, enough spacious. The cleaning of the rooms could be better, but overall I had a nice time there.
The swimming pool and the Jacuzzi are very nice, clean and I really enjoyed them!
I recommend this place.

Very friendly welcoming staff. Coffee tea and cookies in the lobby. Complimentary breakfast. Only complaint was too soft bed.

We stood three guest deep waiting to check in about 10 pm while a coworker put her take-​out dinner order in by phone right in front of us. Fun
Then the key machine refused to work-​the poor roving doc behind us looked like he was going to keel over right in front of us – so we hustled the ‘manager’ into the elevator with a master key so we could all get in our rooms for a short nights sleep
Room
Nicely appointed with an in-​room fridge but UGH the bathroom really smelled strongly of mold. Sure enough this morning when I pulled the shower curtain back – big black streaks of black crud.
Eco-​friendly?
I think they must be experimenting with some Eco-​friendly products but honestly the paper coffee cup literally wilted with the heat/​weight of the hot beverage. Boo
I love the Hampton Inn product and am gaining on my Hilton Honors Gold status so I’m generally undaunted by the chain but disappointed in this property

This is not an original Hampton Inn. It was redone from some other hotel. The lobby is nice, the breakfast is excellent (meets the standard of a Hampton Inn). The woman who ran the breakfast was amazing! Her customer service was exceptional! We stayed there from 5÷22−25÷15. Our favorite family hotel chain is the Hampton Inn.
CONS:
The rooms did not meet our expectations.
This Hampton Inn had very hard mattresses
Double beds, instead of queen size beds
It was very noisy (we could hear every kid running up and down the hallways
until 2am, where are the parents?)
The rooms were small.
PROS:
The rooms were clean and well maintained
The staff was very friendly
The pool and jacuzzi were nice
The view was beautiful
The hotel is close to shopping.

Pool is nice. In room jacuzzi is nice. Coffee and cookies are nice. Lumpy old worn out mattress not so nice. The thing is so worn out we could only sleep backwards because the foot of the bed is not nearly as worn out as the head of the bed. We used three pillows to try and prop ourselves up and still managed to sink into the mattress. My back is killing me already. Buy some new mattresses please!!!
Edit. After struggling to fall asleep and finally passing out at midnight I woke up at three in the morning. The manager was nice enough to let us switch rooms and the second room thankfully has a better mattress.
Staff were all friendly and breakfast was lovely.

We stayed here last weekend because we went snow tubing at Montage. Great hotel, convenient to the highway and Montage Mountain. I loved that their pool was indoor, many Hampton Inns I’ve stayed in only had an outdoor pool.
Room was very clean. There were yummy cookies for free at the check in desk. There was a man working there (and I wish I’d gotten his name) who was sooo sweet and helpful the whole time. He gave my kids fresh hot chocolate chip cookies and milk, and later ended up bringing more towels to the pool area for everyone.
If we ever go back to Montage, we will definitely stay here again!

Great, affordable hotel. Very clean, good rooms, and plenty of amenities — pool, hot tub, treadmill, free weights, elliptical, and decent breakfast variety.

I was up in Scranton very late for work and needed a place to stay because of being 3 hours away from home. They held a room for me when I called and were so courteous over the phone and in person once I arrived.
The room was clean, the bed was VERY comfortable, the AC actually worked, the gym is open 6am-​midnight, and the continental breakfast was actually great as far as free food goes.
I left feeling well-​rested and energized. This isn’t a 5-​star resort. But for the price, and for northeast PA, it’s fantastic. Would DEFINITELY recommend for a place to stay.

First off, almost every person in Scranton seemed to be as nice as they come, and the team at the Hampton Inn were no exception. I was up for the Steamtown Marathon, and they did an amazing job making the runners feel comfortable. They do have breakfast in the morning, but because the runners had to leave before breakfast was out they made breakfast bags and left them out for us, and even put handwritten notes in each bag to wish us luck.
The hotel was clean, and the pool was nice although it we seemed to be the only ones using it. The gym has good quality equipment although it is small, but again, I seemed to be the only one using it.
The only thing that would have made the stay better was if their were fridges in the room. Going out to eat and not being able to take food with you, or not having a place to keep a bottle of water cold is disappointing, but that’s not a very good complaint.
If I run this race again I would certainly stay at this Hampton Inn.

Stayed here for two lovely nights, the staff was awesome and the check in/​check out process was super simple and fast. The hotel was fairly modern looking and very clean in all areas. The pool was large and open until 12pm, after 10pm it was pretty free of kids, which is nice.
Wireless was fast and free, breakfast was also fast and free.

This place is great! Room is immaculate staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool/​hottub/​gym area were clean and very well maintained by a very friendly staffer named Joe. Front desk clerk Lori was helpful and very nice.

Disappointed in the channel line up not well upgraded still has under window HVAC system without a wall thermostat. Very noisy can hear the people in the next room going to the bathroom. Just not on par with modern Hampton Inns

My family and I recently stayed here for my cousins wedding. We had a horrible stay. The first two rooms they gave us had a broken bed, our room was never cleaned, towels were never replaced, beds were never made and the rooms are extremely humid. I’d stay elsewhere!

The hotel is very clean. Liked their breakfast. All rooms are supposed to be nonsmoking, but it did smell as if someone smoked in the room.

Great place to stay for $ 120-​something a night! Clean room, flat screen TV, minimal room décor compared to some Hamptons that I’ve stayed in. We didn’t have a reservation and were able to walk in around 10pm and get a room with no problem. Continental breakfast was great with plenty of options.

The front desk was the definately the nicest and most helpful I’ve had in a while, and I travel for a living! Anything you need they can help and they do it with a smile! Rooms are ok, they have an indoor pool and small gym. Local is secluded by another hotel and a restaurant. They have a free breakfast that has all the trimmings, and fresh fruit for people like me with celiacs. My only wish is that hotels start carrying Gluten Free Chex cereal.

This place was clean but not so cheap. We paid $ 115 for the night, which I think is pricey considering we were just at Motel 6 and Comfort Suites in similar areas and paid less and the rooms were just as nice.
They did have the «free’ hot breakfast though. And it was sausage patties not the bacon thins.

I stayed at this Hampton weekly for several months while running a construction project nearby.
The hotel is just off I-​81 and right by Montage Mountain and the Scranton Yankees Stadium.
The hotel rooms were always very clean and well kept and the staff was extremely friendly. The breakfast was fairly standard but the quality was ok.
All together it was a good hotel experience and I’d definitely make sure to stay there if I was in the area again.

We vacationed for two weeks in the Hudson River Valley and spent our last night at Scranton’s Hampton Inn At Montage, because it was near the Scranton airport, where we had to board a flight at six AM. (Why Scranton rather than Albany or NYC, both near the Hudson? Because you can rent a car for $ 200 less a week in PA than you can in NY and, as we were staying in Poughkeepsie, NY, we added only an hour to our commute and avoided NY’s North-​South toll roads.)
We stayed at a Hampton Inn in Poughkeepsie, too, and, although Scranton’s standard room cost more than our suite in Poughkeepsie — presumably because it’s near the Montage Mountain ski resort — Scranton nevertheless suffered by comparison. (Skiers, beware: we could see the nearby ski runs on the «mountain.» It’s a hill. On the east coast, they make mountains out of them.)
This is an older property and we were greeted on check-​in by an older woman who was unfriendly, mistake-​prone and defensive. When asked to recommend a restaurant, she did, but later denied that she had recommended it, claiming that she had only mentioned it. She corrected our rate for the AAA discount, but we had to have it corrected again — by a helpful night clerk — at four AM the following morning.
The elevator stank of some powerful cleaning solution and the hallway rugs wanted replacement. However, the standard room was clean and comfortable, and it featured two sinks as well as two bed lamps. Lighting was adequate; mirrors were plentiful. The TV was an old tube job of modest size.
