Open skate is good except the workers don’t stop crazy skaters. I’m a pretty good skater and I’ve been knocked over way too many times by reckless skaters. The other thing is having all these beginners w the little walkers they carry makes it hard to skate freely and you always have to ride around them and because they are beginners, they fall a lot. I think the little ones that are just beginning should have their own area.
The wrist guards smell bad.
The lockers are broken.
The open skating is from 630 – 9 on a Friday but it takes a half hour to get skates and then when you get a locker. If it’s broken, you have to go get more change or someone to fix the locker but that’s not easy Bc they aren’t exactly overstuffed.
The only cool things here are the prices and the laser skating.

I went here for the breakfast with Disney princesses! The first time I went was amazing but a lot has changed since then. This time around the princesses were not a good quality but the kids don’t know any different!
They constantly push their stupid neon flashing light toys and helium balloons the breakfast was not a good deal.
Never again.

It’s like a chuck e cheese with a skate rink, but a little bit of worse. None of the games work, tooooo much people, skates and wrist guards stink, the place itself stinks, slow service. Never coming back.

It’s great to still have a skating rink on Long Island, but this place could be organized a little better. I don’t remember as many spastic skaters when I was a kid as there are now. I know kids have to learn, but EVERYONE entering the rink should have skates on. There are too many people running to the middle, holding kids up, etc., etc. IMO, it makes for too many obstacles in the way of skaters.
AND…what is with the show off in the lame dinosaur costume, coming out to waste a half hour of skating time??? This aggravated the sh;+ out of me. I didn’t pay to watch a freakin’ dinosaur do the «Nae Nae». Get over yourself. I couldn’t figure out the purpose whatsoever. If it was to get the birthday party-​kids closer to the food area, the DJ could have just called them over. All skaters had to stand by the green half-​wall and watch an unknown character monopolize the skate floor.
The DJ needs a clearer mic. You can barely understand a word he says.

United Skates of America is a cute name but unfortunately they have a monopoly going as the only skating rink on Long Island that I know of. I love roller skating because it is fun exercise and it gets you sweating after only a few minutes. They do play good Top 40 music to get you grooving. I’ve always enjoyed coming here for fun with just one person such as my husband but today I went for a kid’s birthday party with my 7 year old daughter and I was a little disappointed. Since there aren’t grab bars to hold onto going around the perimeter, inexperienced skaters such as my daughter are accidents waiting to happen. They are obviously going to fall and you just have to hope that when they do, the fast experienced skaters don’t trip over them and cause a ten person pile up. They employee a bunch of teenage boys in referee shirts who approach the kids who fall to ask «Are you OK?» Well that’s great and wonderful but she would be OK if I could be skating next to her holding her hand. But parents of birthday party attendees have to pay full admission and skate rental if they want to skate with their kids. OK, no problem, I thought as I peeled off a $ 10 bill and handed it to the worker so I could rent skates to go around with my daughter. «It’s $ 16.» The worker sneered at me. I literally only had $ 15. I showed her my $ 15 which I was willing to give it all up to skate with my daughter, and I asked if she had any coupons since I had exactly $ 15 with me. «It’s $ 16.» She repeated firmly. I asked if my daughter could just get one of those training roller push it thingies and they said I’d have to pay $ 7, even though she was attending a birthday party of 7 year olds. At this point I was just beyond fed up with this greedy money sucking rink and I told our birthday party host that we were just going to leave.

I was super excited because I haven’t skated in years. The only issue is that it was crowded.

My sons school had a event there, very disappointed, to rent a roller walker for the little kid was more than a skate rental. almost EVERY game was broken .told the kid they had in charge, gave me back two tokens .lost another three dollars in broken machines. never again

So far I came here twice with my hubby for roller skating adult nights which they have every Monday. I would go every single Monday but I’m getting older and I can only suffer the night after skating and staying up a little later one time a month lol.
I love it here, the rink is always clean, they provide free wrist guards, the staff is always friendly and helpful and everyone who attends adult skate night always seems to have fun.
My only qualm is that the DJ tends to play a lot of R&B music which is my least favorite music genre, sometimes he throws on a little bit of rap. I don’t directly complain to him about the music though because it seems this music is what the regular crowd wants and I have fun skating anyway.

Came here with a group of friends. I love roller skating so I had a blast! Parking was no problem at all. It was a little unsettling at first being packed into the place — it was crowded getting in — and then wait on line for skate rental. It was like a big teenage hangout on Friday night. Then you need to find a locker (a big one if you have a bulky coat and bag to check), pop in 6 quarters, and get a key. (Don’t expect to access your locker again without paying 6 quarters to get into it.)
I’d like to go again on a grown folks night with another DJ or at least a different style of music. To be fair, the DJ did throw on some Duran Duran and funk, which sounded good! I haven’t been to any other roller rinks lately, so have no basis of comparison. I love roller skating, I’d just like to have a more adult-​centric experience.
Great exercise and calorie burn if you do the whole session! I didn’t stay for the whole thing, but it lasts about three hours I think.

So I was unhappy with a recent visit here and was contacted by the manager Karen. she offered to rectify the situation by offering us free tickets to a meet and greet the characters brunch on November 30. We greatly appreciated the offer and accepted her invitation. Unfortunately this conversation took place two or three weeks prior to the event and I was told that the tickets would be sent in the mail ASAP. Well November 30 came and went and I never received any complementary tickets nor a phone call nor an email in anyway. So much for rectifying the situation. Karen P and all of United States of America will never see this family ever again because of the poor service poor management and overall lack of respect for anything

Had my 2 year old sons birthday party here. Easy to find, parking ok, reservations were a snap. Large rink. Host was friendly and attentive. Music was ok. They also had a game arcade. Kids seemed to enjoy themselves
Only reason i’m only giving 3 stars is because to me the whole atmosphere just felt chaotic. They have like 10 birthday parties going on at the same time. Kids are everywhere !! running, skating, screaming all over the place. I know its a kid place but i just felt frustrated trying to get my party members together, then to get everyones skates. Where there is no line, just a big crowd moving towards the front. Then you have to put on wrist guards and knee guards which was a little cumbersome doing this with the littler kids.
Then my other issue was that the party felt rushed. As by the time all the kids had their skates on, the dj was calling for the birthday boy to come to dj booth when he only finished putting on his skates 5 mins prior. Then finally skating then another announcement for birthday boy to go spin some wheel of fortune thing. Ok, then they brought out food and cake, we ate. Kids were given tokens. Then next thing i know party is over and some big guy is shouting for everyone to clear out as the hosts rushingly start cleaning off the tables.
It just felt like a blur of noise. I was glad to be leaving.
Overall kids seemed to enjoy it. Adults not so much. Maybe would come back for adult night and see if atmosphere would be better.
Oh another thing, a kid in my party took his jacket off and left it party table and it was stolen. They told us to search in lost and found but it was not there.

Came here for a friends birthday on Monday night, Adult night. The price was very reasonable. $ 11 admission and $ 5 for skate rental. They had skates and blades available for rent and the music was great!
I came with a friend who does not know how to skate and the last time we tried at Hot Skates, he felt uncomfortable to learn because everyone was going so fast, it was overcrowded, and the referees didn’t allow any stopping. United Skates wasn’t too crowded and the skaters were dancing, making trains, and moving at a slower pace. No whistles blown from the refs so he actually felt comfortable, and learned how to skate!
Staff was helpful, but not too friendly. I hope they have better attitudes in the day time for the kids. The rink floor was a little rugged and cracked around the turns. I didn’t fall so I guess it’s cool.

This review is for Adult night which is only on Mondays. The rollerblading center is open until midnight. I decided to go check it out. It was $ 15.00 for admission & skates. You can use their lockers for $ 1.50. Only open your lockers if you are leaving, or else prepare to pay again to close it. The actual platform you rollerblade on is a decent size. It’s not huge but plenty of space for a crowd. The skates are only whole numbers sizes, and they run big. The skates were kinda of smelly too, but I asked for a new pair. After a few laps around, I was starving. I went over to the café around 10:45 ish pm and it was closed. That’s probably the only reason this place doesn’t get 5 stars. Other than that it was a great time.

So upon hearing about Breakfast with frozen characters I immediately called united skates of American and purchased tickets. I received my tickets all in the mail and the best part the seating was arranged by family talk about being organized. On the day of the event staff was super friendly, kind and helpful. The entire event was just awesome my daughter got to take pictures with all characters and not to mention there was enough breakfast stands to accommodate everyone. Food was great bacon, scramble eggs, pancakes, cereal etc. can’t wait for the next event.

My neice had a birthday party here. It was great, no complaints. It’s a little pricey for adults to skate but if you have a toddler you can walk on the floor with them so I didn’t have to rent the skates for myself. Also, the rail for the kids to hold on to is like $ 5 or $ 8. I can’t remember now but I thought it was pricey. Pizza, Wings, Soda and Cake were included in the package. I think a souvenier for each kid too. I wouldn’t mind coming again.

I haven’t been here since I was a kid. I used to have birthday parties here all the time and remember having a blast. On a whim we decided to go on adult night, Monday night. I loved the variety of ages that I saw at this place. It ranged from young adults to people that were old enough to be my grandparents! I also loved people watching. Not just watching people fall, which ended up being my fate once or twice, but some of the people that came to Adult Night were SO talented. Some people had their own choreography and routines. I was just amazed to see people skate on a whole other level. Btw if you attempt to do their fancy tricks, be warned, their skates are much more flexible and designed differently than the ones you can rent out. They brought theirs from home. Overall it was a lot of fun. Great for dates!

I love to skate so I was super excited when I was invited here. The place is very spacious. Including the rink. In the middle of the rink is an area to practice your moves on and seating/​carpet area.
Adult nite is on Mondays which is when I went. 8:30p to 12:30a. Dj played a good mix of house, and old school r & b music.
Staff and fellow skaters were all very friendly. Overall a good fun night. I would recommend it as a date night or for a group of friends.

I love this place. It’s so kid friendly & if you don’t know how to skate they have the little things for you to hold on to and skate.

Jeez. They have quite the operation here. Nicely kept skating ring, with smooth floors. Loud (almost too loud music can be heard everywhere. And the DM frequently interacts with the crowd, for trivia games or for the black light skate song.
Arcade is just okay. Most of the machines seem broken so it could use an update.
Plenty of benches for the non skaters like me, though they are pretty relaxed about walking into the rings with the kiddos.
Seems they have many sessions a day– early morning is best for the cheap skates!

Oh my gosh, United Skates of America. I believe every kid in elementary school had their party here if not once… then several times. I remember there being a period where I bought my own rollerblades because I was being invited to so many parties here!
It’s very kid-​friendly and it’s one of those places where you will spend tons of money for the cheesiest/​cheapest prize that you can probably buy in a store for about $ 10. They have those arcade games with tickets that you can cash in for giant stuffed animals, plastic rings and glowsticks. If it’s your birthday, you get to spin the big wheel (or at least they used to do this) and get EXTRA tickets. And they gave us processed pizza and soda. Aka the best thing ever as a kid.
The skating rink was a lot of fun. They played classic music and more current ones as well. The staff was great there and mostly consisted of underpaid/​min wage teens. If this still exists when I have kids… I definitely want to bring them here.
