Came for the transmission fluid change. Was surprised by great customer service! Everyone was very nice, polite and trying to feel you welcome. They even called the dealership for me. The car was ready within couple hours. They didn’t charge for a quick follow up appointment and a little consultation. Definetely coming back for the next service!

Had a great experience. Leaving Auburn to head to Monterey for a long weekend. Breaks sounded horrible so I took it to Les Schwab and had a horrible experience for the second time. You can read that review for more detail. Made it to Monterey and found A1 on Unilocal.They worked me in to their schedule, were very friendly and informative. I don’t know much about auto stuff so I like it when they explain the problem and what they have to do. Price was fair according to my buddy who would know.
They did do the typical up sale and tried to get me to change some belt, but that’s just what mechanics do. I was actually going to take them up on it the next day but ran out of time.
I may make it a tradition to take my car there when I’m in town from now on.

Mohammed worked on 2 different cars of mine about 2 – 3 months ago. He was very helpful and I was impressed at how honest he was. He didn’t try to make any unnecessary repairs or run any scams. In fact, when I brought one of my cars in to get a check engine light diagnosed, he checked the code for free. This usually costs approx $ 40, but he stopped what he was doing when I got there and checked it for me as a courtesy. I tried to offer him money to pay for it but he refused my money. Wow! It’s a great feeling to know your mechanic is honest and cares. I wish I knew about his shop a long time ago.

Mo is fabulous! He’s helpful, friendly and available. My daughters car had a broken fuel line, he suggested we tow the car in for safety and he fixed it relatively quickly for a reasonable price. Now we are bringing all cars in for oil changes and other services. Mo puts all the car info on Carfax so we have a record of repairs and maintenance. We are very please we found A1 Precision Auto.

Mohammed was very informative and answered all of our questions. He did not try and up charge us on anything, he just fixed the problem at hand. Will definitely be bringing my car back!
***Update: It’s only been 12 days since I took my car here. I distinctly remember asking if I needed a wheel alignment & Mohammed told me I didn’t. Woke up this morning & took my little sister to school. I got stopped by a fireman on the way home who pulled up next to me and told me my right front tire was flat. Turns out the left front tire was getting really flat too. Took them out and showed a tire shop, asking them what could’ve happened and he said I needed an alignment. –_​_​_​_​_​– Really frustrated. Had to buy two new tires. All could’ve been avoided if they took the time to properly check. :(

I called this place to see if he could install some coilovers on my car. I asked him if he could do it and he said «oh yes yes we can.» I gave him the part numbers for my stuff and he said he would call me back. It’s been over a week now and haven’t heard a thing back from him. He could at least call and say he couldn’t do it. Bad customer service.

Wow, honestly I’m so surprised. Being a girl that doesn’t know anything about cars makes it hard to trust a mechanic. However, I came in at 8:30 for an oil change and to change my breaks. my car was ready by 8:50 Not only that but he checked my breaks too and told me I still had a few months to go before I needed to change them. Love that he was honest, efficient and thorough. Definitely coming back.

Honest, friendly, and nice. Hard to believe I’m talking about an auto repair shop, but I am. Have had two issues with my car recently, and Mohammad was pretty great about explaining the problems and taking care of them swiftly and professionally. You get the feeling they really care.
The estimate he gave me was wrong, though. It was about $ 100 off… in MY favor. Apparently the part was cheaper than anticipated.

The best mechanic shop on the peninsula by far. Amazing customer service fast, friendly and reliable. Very good at diagnostics without giving you a bunch of BS and changing parts that don’t need changing to find an issue. I take all my vehicles there. If your looking for an excellent mechanic who’s fair and honest (which is unheard of) then this is the place for you

Came in to have my front brake pads and rotors changed. Had the work done back home In LA a couple months ago, but must have been a botched job because my pads and rotors were roasted extremely fast. Came here on a whim, walk in. I was promptly helped by the owner who gave me a good price, and promptly begin working on my car. Seriously didn’t have to wait a minute. Which is rare to say around here. Not to mention his lobby is probably the cleanest one I’ve ever seen at a mechanics, and it’s so nice to be able to see al the work done on your car as they do it. I don’t trust many mechanics, but so far this place has my trust. Would recommend easily!

Super friendly and walked me through all the steps he was taking and shared all the technical aspects like a teacher would. 10⁄10 Will go again!

Long story short, I had to bring the Jeep back here because they did not fix the entire problem. Because of this, they fully charged our battery, kept it overnight, and ran some tests to try to diagnose any further problems free of charge.
They were unable to pinpoint our exact problem, but we marked the most likely source as some prior work that was done by another auto shop and is still under warranty. We will be contacting the other shop to fix the problem. Thank you A1 for all the support.

Was driving through Monterey (seaside) to San Francisco when my serpentine belt came apart. Turns out I needed to replace the harmonic balancer. Not an easy fix.
Called around on a Saturday. Found out shortly after that most auto shops weren’t open all but A1 luckily.
Called at 8:30 and Tofer said he could take it right in and immediately started working on it.
Nawar helped as well by continuously updating throughout the process.
Took longer than anticipated but every minute was worth it. Like I said it was not an easy fix.
They are honest about prices and want to get the job done right. At no point did I feel I was being mislead or taken advantage of.
I would highly recommend A1. They turned a big headache into a huge relief.
