Grand Buffet

We come here a couple times a year as a group. So many other reviewers nailed it. Food is 3 stars, the dining area is 1 star. Floor carpeting smells terrible. The staff is inattentive. Each time I go I consider not tipping and only do so out of guilt.

If you value your stomach & your health, DO NOT eat here. Old food, smelly floor, dim light, etc. we had to stop eating from several bites & run to Sakura Buffet in Salina to finish up our dinner:(

Horrible food, Horrible service, My family took my mom here to eat since we were around the Area and my mom got a long piece of hair in her mouth from the food which is disgusting! definitely ruined are appetite. Better off going to another Buffet but try it out if you want bruh.

We were in town to go to the aquarium and things like that and it was getting late and we were trying to decide on food for dinner. Honestly, we should have gone to Wendy’s. Ugh. ICK!
First of all, there were pretty much NO cars in the parking lot. We should have turned around and not gone in. There was a group of people leaving as we were getting there and not another soul in the place, with the exception of one, maybe two people working. (That’s all we saw, anyway.) The waitress lady seated us and then ignored us. Seriously, ignored us until we had to ask for the check to pay.
$ 12 for an adult dinner and $ 6.15 for the kid. We spent WAY too much on food that wasn’t good. The place was dirty and the neighborhood a bit sketchy. Not sure about a place that has people just hanging around outside in the dark across the street.
The honey walnut like prawns were good — I liked them. My little boy liked the chow mein. My husband liked a couple things — sort of — and my mom liked none of it. We’re all hoping that we don’t end up fighting over a bathroom in the middle of the night, if you get what I mean. Not saying we’ll get food poisoning, but you never know.
Don’t go here. Don’t waste your money. I didn’t see any bugs, but the place is old, tired and dirty.

the place is a eye sore and dirty rest rooms and food was not good period. Never got refills on our drinks. Dont recommend.

I wish I would have believed the reviews posted on Unilocal.I have been to this restaurant about 2 years ago and it was pretty good. This restaurant must’ve changed owners because the food quality went down the toilet.
This restaurant smells sooo bad you can’t even eat. My daughter and I kept gagging every bite we had. We had to leave and go eat somewhere else. Before I ate I went to the restroom to wash my hands and felt my hands were dirtier after I came out of the restroom. Please believe me that the restaurant smells way worse than the restroom. As for the food it’s all disgusting and cold. ⁷⁄₁₁ convenience stores have better food.

If I could give it no stars I would. This is THE worse Chinese buffet I have ever been to. My sister wanted a Chinese buffet and in this area we have very limited choices… Just one, this one. I should have listened to my instincts. The food presentation was not appealing. It looked dry and old and what’s worse it was tasted old and dry. I knew it was wrong choice to eat when I asked for hot water and they served it in a plastic cup, the same kind they used for the soft drinks…
They had orange chicken, sweet and sour pork, hot and sour soup, egg drop soup, a variety of stir fried veggies, crab legs, mussels, stuffed crab, kimchee, sushi (what seemed to be canned tuna roll end into rice and seaweed), Korean type of sushi, salad (lettuce was turning brown) and you get the picture. Quite a few choices, but if the food is not good… why go out and eat. I’m sure you can whip up food in less time to drive here and cook a decent meal than any of these dishes. The only saving grace is that I enjoyed the buchi ball (a mochi rice covered in sesame seeds with red bean paste in the middle) and the chocolate jello. Will I be coming here again… I think not… Now I’m wondering if I should listen to the other Unilocalers and take pepto-​bismol. But then again I should I have listened to the reviews before I came., what can I say, I like to give places a chance…

I’m just putting up 5 stars hoping the person that’s reading this isn’t going to Eat here. Very poor customer service. Food wasn’t being refilled. Tables were sticky. There’s no sense of urgency for their customers. We paid 65 bucks for shit food and shit service.

The shrimp butter thing is my favorite and the chow me in and rice.
I’m not a picky person with restaurants, it wasn’t perfectly clean which is why I didn’t give it 5 stars.
PS my rice was roach free.

This is my first review ever I had to write one for this place please save you money and go somewhere else the buffet deserves to be shut down everything is cold and has no taste. It’s very dirty be careful going here

Food posiening!!! Avoid this place so dirty and tasteless. I’m surprised this place is not closed yet

I found this establishment to be clean enough, but very untidy. I was the only customer in the restaurant and yet I was completely ignored from the time my drink arrived until I had to go alert a staff member that I was leaving. One of them was on the phone for the duration of my visit.
The food I had was OK, but I did ignore several of the items as they were dried out and appeared untouched.
All in all, the staff were nice, but inattentive. I wouldn’t come back, even if it were free.

This place is old and falling apart. Smells like wet dog, rugs are very dirty, I would not use the bathroom. The food was over cooked and very grease. Their people skills need a lot of work. They do not have a gold or silver food heath seal from Monterey County. I would advise people not to eat there unless you want to get sick.

OMFG! What the hell was I thinking… This place was unkempt, dirty, smelly and the service was mostly inattentive even for a buffet. Don’t let the «Grand» in the name fool you, the selection of entrees is minimal at best. The food itself not even passable for the poor quality that we have pretty much learned to accept as Chinese food on the West Coast.
On the positive side I did not get get sick after eating here, but my advice is:
Do not eat here period.

I can’t believe this place hasn’t been shut down. The food doesn’t look appetizing at all and the produce looks like it was picked out the garbage. I only had iced tea while the parents ate. Even that tasted dirty.
I’ve been here a few times before and it was ok. Never again! Don’t even get me started on the carpet.

Disgusting, smelly and questionable room-​temperature food. As others have stated, the very thought of this place makes we want to vomit and I can’t understand why the health department has not closed them down. Even the ice in their drinks tastes bad/​dirty.
Great place to go if you need to lose weight because you will likely lose the contents of your stomach an hour after you eat.
Tip: Stay near a bathroom for 24-​hours after visiting this place.

This establishment is old and tired as evidenced by the décor, food, plate ware. My partner had been many years ago, so we thought we’d try again.
Although there were many Asians, the food was pretty lame. BIG problem, none of the buffet dishes are labeled, so it was a lot of ‘guessing’ by past experience.
Food very average, though I did like the chocolate pudding and the fact that sushi was also available.
I would say, Beware of an establishment that serves, Asian, American and Japanese food. There are so many far better restaurants for Chinese food.

Absolute worst place to eat!!! I wanted to walk out and shouldve walked out with my party of 6 adults 2 children.
Walked in and smack… an off putting smell is lingering in the air… a few seconds later, greeted by a young kid, no older than 15 I assumed. He lead us to a few tables which were sticky. Yuck.
The buffet line was ghastly… I do not think they have given this a deep clean since it opened. Foods all looked questionable, most tasted questionable… I have to admit, most my part did not fill their bellies. I know I left hungry, after eating a few things and sitting in the grossness of it all, i was too disgusted.
My breakdown: white rice — disgusting. it looked old, mushy, and was actually very leftover cold to the touch. White rice is a basic staple… if this is messed up, the whole place is probably in the shitter (and it was.)
Desserts are left on an open dirty counter. Ice creams are self serve/​scoop and store in a deep freezer. I had to flag down someone from the kitchen for a clean scooper only to discover that it was a moot point because the freezer doors are covered in a disgusting mold.
The owner (?) walked around with blue rubber gloves on –clearing tables of unfinished food, taking money from customers, serving food from the kitchen, and even scratching her back etc… all the while she kept those damned gloves on! *BARF
On top of that, when she presented the check, my sister questioned her about the charge, owner non-​chalantly said — oh its because you guys order drinks. Impossible because she had clearly marked the drinks seperately on the check and even with that addition plus tax, there was an excessive charge. Questioned again, the owner again repeated it was just the drink charge. The third time, she finally and rather quietly revealed… «oh I add gratuity»… now much, we asked? She said 15%. Thats when the numbers on our check lined up. I hate when people try to take advantage of others especially when its over on my family.
Anways, this place is FILTHY, DIRTY, UNHYGIENIC… They need to be inspected asap. I’m sure they will fail.
*Barf, I still am bothered that I allowed myself and family to eat here… grooosss!

Warning, for your health. do not go here. Food on buffet looks and tastes questionable and was mostly cold and or room temperature. None of the food on the buffet is labeled, but figured maybe that’s normal in this area.
Also… when we entered, we got seated by some like 9 year old kid and asked what we wanted to drink. Our end bill was 32 $ for 2 adult buffets and 2 sodas.
