I want to thank Monica, Derek Sy and the rest of the staff for helping with my Special Car. They are always nice and helpful. I don’t know what I would do without them. Thank you!!!

Honestly, I understand that everyone has their bad days but from the other reviews that I’ve read, it seems that we are all referring to one guy that works there that is just absolutely horrible.
I went in because I was having tire issues and for some reason one of my tires kept losing air. The woman there, Monica, was actually very kind and helpful and she tried to help as much as she could. On the other hand, I can say that I have never experienced such bad customer service until I came to this place and I’d like to think that I’m a really nice person and I understand when things go wrong and people have a bad day. No, one of the mechanics– I didn’t get the chance to catch his name– was a complete asshole the entire time I was there. Not just to me, but to other customers as well. I could hear him going back and forth throwing temper tantrums like a child, cussing and yelling something inaudible. Perhaps he was upset from a previous customer or something. No, he kept continuing to throw tantrums and honesty, he was so unprofessional it just amazed me. But he would complain constantly to Monica and I would hear him say things about customers that was absolutely rude. There was another customer who he just refused to help and said that it was too complicated to do and there’s nothing he could do. All of this happened during the time that I was waiting for them to check my car and see what was wrong with my tires.
Then the guy comes storming in saying that there’s nothing wrong with my tires and there’s no hole. That all my tires had just been below the psi that they were supposed to be at. That they were supposed to be at 40 psi. What, did you think I was trying to get free air or something? Anyway, my car is supposed to be at 35 psi and everything was fine til the light came on and the front tire was at 27 psi. The guy was just being rude the entire time and I kept trying to explain to him that that isn’t possible because I had two people tell me that my tire pressure kept going lower and lower the more air I put in it by myself. Then the guy tells Monica that he’ll put a hole in my tire because I kept insisting something was wrong. Really though??? The fact that I could hear Monica telling herself that she can’t wait to quit this job tells me that this asshole has been working here for a while and this isn’t a first.
Seriously. I don’t get angry easily and I wasn’t at first, but this guy was just a straight up asshole, and if it weren’t for the fact that this company is privately owned, I would call the cooperate company and get his ass fired. I just couldn’t believe how absolutely rude and vulgar this guy was. I don’t even think this guy could get fired because I think he has some relation to the owner of the company. Honestly, I hope he keeps up this bad attitude of his and continue his temper tantrums like a little kid because at this rate, they will lose customers and go out of business.
I’m sorry to everyone else that had to put up with that bullshit and especially to the 2 office ladies that have to receive the backlash because of his ass.
Please, do yourself a favor and do NOT go to this location. I thought I could just put this aside because everyone has their off days but this guy has had a monkey wrench stuck up his ass since the beginning of time.
Update: So, I ended up taking my car to Midas in Seaside and the service was WAY better. The guy ended up finding a nail in my tire that was barely visible. I was amused thinking about how that mechanic from Goodyear said there was nothing wrong with my tire. Not just him, but the guy in charge also checked it and said there was nothing wrong. Good job guys. I applaud you on not being able to do your job, and thank you to Midas for taking care of me.

I would NOT trust the place to do ANYTHING to ANY of my vehicles. I took my truck in, their so called «lead» mechanic who is ASE certified refused to work on it saying and I quote, «its too complicated to work on»
So I went home and changed my own brakes in 2 hrs in my driveway. Yes two bolts per caliper swap the pads and it was too complicated for their «trained» mechanic to work on. WHAT A JOKE! I called GoodYear Corporate… They informed me that this is a «Private» store and that type of service would never really happen at a corporate store.
It was good that I didn’t let their «lead» mechanic touch my truck. If I had he would have probably messed something up. As I was standing waiting for my truck to be done apparently this store based upon what I heard from phone calls coming in has a tendency to leave nails in customers tires as well.
Do yourself a favor… save your time money and go to a «real» store that has mechanics that can do the most simple of brake jobs.

These guys are awesome. Such great service and very solution driven. They want to help and they let you know it.

This place has the worst customer service. This Asian guy named Derek is the worst. He act like it hurts to do his job. There was this one guy that worked there named James then he went to PG, he is no longer here. If I have to come here I try my best to do something simple and not communicate too much. Customer service is key and this location sucks at it.

I had the worst experience at Good Year in Seaside ever.
I had called this place two days in advance to schedule to come in and have all four tires replaced. The woman on the phone assured me that they had all four tires on hold for me.
First of all when I arrived when it opened, as instructed, the man at the desk appeared to be inconvenienced that he even had to acknowledge I was there. He asked me what I wanted and I explained the phone call two days prior and that I needed a complete replacement.
He didn’t engage in conversation at all. He silently shuffled notes on his desk and squinted at a scribbled note. He then told me the note said I had 3 tires to replace and not four but before I could say anything he demanded my car keys in an irritated tone of voice. Didn’t explain anything and walked out to check my car. I’ve never purchase tires before so even being in the building is totally out of my element. So I had no idea what he was doing and followed him out. «I’m just checking your mileage.» He explained in an annoyed tone.
I shrugged and went inside and stood at the desk. He came back inside and prepared my paperwork without a word. He gave the quote to me to sign and I pointed out that the price is $ 20 more then what the woman on the phone quoted for me. He gave a very mumbled explanation while simultaneously dialing up someone on his phone. I didn’t complain about the price any further because it didn’t matter and he didn’t seem interested in talking about it anyways.
While he was on the phone he waved his hand at me to sit down in the waiting area as if I was a small child annoying a parent on the phone.
45 minutes I sat there and I watched two gentlemen walk in and received the best customer service. This guy was all over these men and eager to help. Not me. I felt like I was being treated differently because I’m a young woman.
After waiting he came up to me and explained that the fourth tire isn’t available yet and suggested they put an old tire back on so I could leave and come back. I asked how long it would take for the tire to arrive and he told me an hour. I told him not to put the old tire back on because by the time I got home it would be time to leave again. So I left my car there and walked a couple of blocks down to get some breakfast.
30 minutes later I missed a call and I listened to a message from them saying my car was finished. When I went back into the building the current customer at the desk was having an argument with the other employee. I waited 20 minutes and had to listen to this other customers complaints and eventually I was finally checked out. No conversation. No explanation of the tire warranty. Didn’t ask me if I needed anything else and didn’t even bother to apologize for the delay. NOTHING! I was so put off at how no one would engage me in conversation at all.
I signed my papers and left but not without letting them know my expectations where not met.
I won’t be returning to this place again. I’ve never been treated so poorly at a place where I felt compelled to write a review. This wasn’t about the fourth tire not being available. Crap happens and I understood. It’s the complete lack of human courtesy that I am extremely upset about.
I left Good Year on Seaside feeling like a piece of crap. Thanks Good Year.
Later that evening the manager called and offered me a free oil change and brake inspection.
I went in today to get the free oil change and brake inspection that they offered. The original guy that I dealt with yesterday was right there at the desk. The manager came out and finished up another customer and while I waited for that he offered to help. I ignored him and after a while he remembered who I was and went into the back room where I heard him tell his mechanic friends «Hey that lady is here from yesterday»
I read on my previous paper work that they had already performed a brake inspection but neglected to tell me they did .or anything about it.
As I waited for my car to be fixed up a different mechanic came out to the waiting room and asked me if I knew how to pop the hood. I told him I’ve never opened it before so I have no idea.
The guy smirks, goes back to the other mechanics and loudly shouts «SHE’S NEVER OPENED HER HOOD!» and all the guys broke into a laughter.
I haven’t had this car for even a year. I’ve never had any problems where I needed to pop the hood so I don’t understand why it was so funny to them.
After that the manager came back with all sorts of shit they found that needs to be fixed. Air filter, windshield wipers, and new brakes, all with an estimate of $ 800+. I declined to have that taken care of and when I finished waiting for my car I heard the mechanic loudly complain that I’m getting two brake inspections for the price of one.
I took my quote and left feeling more like crap then when I left yesterday.
These people are terrible and I will never go there again.

I’ve been here twice for all new tires and alignment. Twice for oil changes and once for a tire repair. All have been great experiences. I need a decent deal on tires. I do my research. I compare prices. Both times i found this place to be the better deal. They are kind and courteous. They don’t make me feel duped (auto mechanics/​tire places etc often make women feel out of their element) and they always complete the work within the given time frame. STOKED! Emily helped me today and she was great. Knowledgeable and efficient. I also like that i have lifetime rotation and tire repair. I needed it last time, and they fixed my punctured tire in 20 min – FREE (comes with tire purchase). I will continue to come here for tires and oil changes. Thanks!

Arrived as soon as it opened to have a tire patched on wife’s Honda Odessy. They were courteous and attentive and had me back on the road on 30 minutes. I they were a little more expensive than some of the other shops but I don’t mind paying a little extra for service like this.

I’ve brought my car here for many years to get anything from an oil change to a full maintenance and I’ve not ever been disappointed. The staff are friendly, efficient and reasonably priced. That’s all anyone can ask for from a local business.

Stopped here for a simple tire repair. Before anyone even looked at my vehicle they started in with the hard sell for a new set of tires. When I let them know I wasn’t buying tires that day they refused to repair the tire with a nail in it (the reason I was there in the first place).
I didn’t argue. I left, got my tire repaired elsewhere.
Staff here was arrogant & only interested in the upsell. I’ve found another shop in the area that understands that good customer service =/​= padding the bill & squeezing every penny out of your wallet possible.

Wanted to charge $ 600 for back brakes on an 05 Chevy Silverado! Come oooon budy! Ridiculous! Instead of making a reasonable fee for brakes you made nothing because you wanted to make 600.
Got on the phone and found rear brakes for my truck at Peninsula tire for $ 230. Just sayin…

I’m panning these guys hard — My 20 y/​o college daughter needed an oil change on her 2009 Pontiac G3 and went to this location. They fleeced her and she walked out with an $ 85.00 bill. We’ve run that car on Kendall 5W-​30 Premium Synthetic Blend Motor Oil since we bought it new — an oil change with our home mechanics using that very oil runs around $ 39.95. She had her last service record with her, was told that the oil was all wrong, it needed full synthetic oil to avoid engine wear, anything less than that could void warranties, blah, blah, blah. In essence, they pushed the up-​sell on a young lady who didn’t understand the game. They also told her that her windshield wipers needed replacing (funny because in Aug. 2013 I replaced them myself with Rain-​X blades before she left for school (NOT rocket science) so that went on the bill for good measure. Taking advantage of a young woman’s naivety and pushing an up-​sell on her is pretty sucky. Me getting stuck with a bill that high for a simple oil change is sucky x two. Color me vexed :/

I needed a tire rotation and being fairly new to the peninsula don’t yet have all my bearings set for car repair and tire maintenance. Goodyear popped out at me while driving down Fremont so I pulled in.
I was pleasantly surprised by the experience.
In addition to my tire rotation ($ 20) the franchise owner personally inspected the undercarriage at my request and tightened a couple of loose nuts that hold down the drivers seat. He pointed out to me a crack in the floorboard caused by another mechanic. Good find!
I got some very good advice on my squeaky brakes with no up-​sell attempts in the process. Mr. Sy pointed me back to the mechanic in the Valley who did the brake job with pointers on how to get the other shop to make it right.
Another point, Jiffy Lube charges $ 82 for a full service synthetic oil change. Seaside Tire & Service Goodyear charges $ 69 and only $ 10 more for tire rotation if combined.
I think I found my new tire and general auto maintenance shop.

Super fast service, friendly receptionist, great price!

Needed just the front two on my son’s ’98 Volvo. First went to Costco and got the ‘we’ll need to replace all 4 tires’ bit and then the ‘only the Salinas store has the cheaper tire’ line, so I left. Drove by this Goodyear store and thought that I would give it a try. Told them I wanted the cheapest tire and only the front. Sure sir, no problem. Friendly, efficient (even though Mom was teaching her daughters how to enter stuff in the computer), and they could get right on it. I expected to be there for a bit but from write up to keys back in my hand was less than 40 minutes. Costco quote on tire disposal over $ 70 for 4; Goodyear disposal fee for 2 = $ 9.50 total. This location should be in your mix when considering tire replacement.

Great place! Don’t need an appointment for an oil change! And it’s reasonably priced.

The service here was AWESOME. I was concerned about my oil change taking a long time, especially after the over 2 hour wait I had to wait the last 3 visits at the Seaside Midas (wrote a review). Well, the guys as Goodyear told be it will probably only be 30 minutes and no longer than 45 minutes, after 20 minutes the said my car was finished! They were polite, super fast (fastest oil change I’ve ever got), and they didn’t pester me to buy something extra. They pointed out some issues with my vehicle I already knew about, but that also tells me they weren’t trying to cheat me. I will be returning for an oil change and possibly one of the existing issues with me vehicle. Thanks Goodyear!

Due for a set of new tires and an oil change, I made some phone calls and garnered some quotes. I decided to go with Goodyear Seaside because James, the GY Manager, gave me a fair out-​the-​door quote, said he would order my tires pronto and I liked his professionalism, earnestness and directness over the phone.
The only thing that he tacked on was a $ 20 charge to inject nitrogen in my new tires for a smoother road experience, better fuel efficiency and longer tire life. Also, he noticed a crack in my coolant and replaced it for a mere $ 10! He honored a coupon for $ 10 off any standard oil change that was mailed to me and made sure I knew that with the purchase of my new set of 4 tires, I would receive a years worth of free tire rotations, inspections and minor repairs.
No fuss, in-​and-​out, service. No endless list of dubious repairs — just honest, quality service. I will, no doubt, be coming back here for my future autocare needs. My new tires feel smooth and safe.

I decided to start going to Goodyear when the Dodge dealership closed, and the neighboring dealerships charged an arm and a leg for an oil change.
Goodyear in Seaside is where I will always go when I have maintenance or issues with my vehicle, and I recommend it everyone. Now my family takes all their vehicles to Goodyear in Seaside. Let me tell you why.
Unlike a lot of mechanics, who will try to sell you something you don’t need or do a procedure your car is not ready for, the staff at Goodyear is trustworthy and honest about your car needs.
For example, I told my brother to take his Chevy in when the engine light came on, and to talk to James Zachary (the General Manager). Instead of hooking my brothers truck up the diagnostic machine and charging him for this, that, and the other, James told him to take it into the dealership because it was still under warranty and would be checked and repaired for free. Now that his warranty is up, James and Derek and the rest of the crew at Goodyear take excellent care of his truck and keep our whole family on the road.
