Scissor shack gives a quality cut. I am definitely happy with the speed and quality of my fade, my barber understood and accomplished what I requested. At a solid price of $ 14 there simply are no complains about the cut itself. Scissor shack does not appear to be the cleanest however and that is honestly where I find this place not to be 5 out of 5. Hair from the previous customer was not only on spread out all over the ground around my chair… it was also covering her equipment. And I mean statically covering the entirety of the trimmers. Kind of offputting. Station was also messy and covered with multiple people’s hair. Sanitation is a concern, whether or not they barbacide/sanitize their equipment –especially their scissors — kind of makes me nervous to return. But man I got a good hair cut, and it is very conveniently located. so I will probably continue to give them my business.

Worst haircut ever! This is a completely no frills salon. I hesitate to even call it a salon, there are no sinks, all cuts are done dry with no after cut styling. You leave looking ridiculous. It may be cheap but it’s not worth the months of stupid hair you will have to endure after leaving this place.

I was constantly searching on Unilocal for a barber that I could trust with the hairstyle I wanted. I previously had a disconnected undercut and needed a trim on top and a bit shorter fade on the sides. Kathy did exactly as I asked after I showed her a few pictures to help her understand. Only $ 14! This barbershop is now my go to.

Not bad for getting a military fade haircut. The lady who cut my hair was pleasant with the conversation and took her time and pointed out things about my hair and scalp that I wouldn’t normally notice, as it effects how fade’s symmetric appearance. That being said, haircuts are $ 8.50 on base and $ 14 here and the haircut only lasts a week or two. The one good thing I will note is that their hours are great — they were open till 7pm on a holiday. So, this will be my place if I’m in a crunch the next morning and need to look fresh.

Set the stage– Untrimmed/cut beard and hair for 2 months. Kelly happily accepted the challenge and continuously discussed progress to confirm what I wanted. What a barber– Results were perfect! Kelly is a very nice conversationalist and has great humor. I felt like I had been there many times, when in fact this was my first visit. Shop atmosphere was warm as each customer chatted with their styilist. Yes– I have picked Kelly and Scissor Shack as my new fulltime haircut and beard specialist!

I’m not normally one to give a review if I haven’t been to a place before but this place was rude on the phone. I’m new to the area and I called in regards to eyebrow waxing. I call and whoever picks up(she gave no name or no introductory to even reassure I called the right place) just answers, «yeah?» I ask about the eyebrow waxing and she’s just cold. So I say thank you and she says nothing back. And hangs up. Definitely not coming here.

I found this place on Unilocal and decided to try. I was lucky to get Kim to do my haircut. She did it so nice and easy and I am perfectly happy with my simple and neat bob. Thank you, Kim! Next time I need a haircut, I know where to go.

Don’t let the name fool you, they are not afraid to also pull out the clippers here. I travel for work so I try barbers all over the place and I usually just end up missing my home barber shop more, but Kathy at the scissor shack changed that today. She did a great job of putting my high fade and pompadour back together after it was massacred by another«barber» in the same town a few weeks earlier. Thank you Kathy. The only thing missing and the reason they didn’t get the 5th star is they don’t do the straight razor shave on the back of the neck. Other than that fantastic.

After reading the reviews here, I went ahead and made an appointment so that I wouldn’t have to wait. I went in, was seen right away– I LOVED the lady who cut my hair. i didn’t catch her name, but she was so nice. Anyway, I got a lot of hair cut off– six inches, and I couldn’t be happier. I woke up the next morning, took my hair down from the bun it was in, and it looked better than it had when she first cut it. I literally had to do nothing to my hair for it to look awesome. I will definitely be going back. Also, had my eyebrows waxed while I was there, and it was about a thousand times less painful than usual, as well. Altogether a wonderful experience, for half the price of most places. Very happy. :)

Nice barbershop. Good haircut at a reasonable price. Don’t have anything against foreign women, but it seems rude speaking Viatnamese to coworkers in front of customers.

I think I’ve gotten a haircut from every stylist in this place and they’ve all been good. As a guy, my haircut isn’t difficult, but they do a consistently good job. Buzz buzz, chop chop and I’m on my way.

Went in to get my eyebrows waxed. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch the name of the woman who did mine but she was great. It gets busy so make sure to make an appointment. I would definitely recommend this place!

This was my first time here. Kathy did a great job. Military hair cuts get screwed up all the time. She did a great job. I recommend you call ahead to ensure a minimal wait time. I called ahead and got right in. Some folks showed up while I was there and had to wait a while or she made them appointments for later in the day.

My worst haircut ever! My hair was destroyed by Kim. My hair was long and she hacked it all off! She didn’t know what the hell she was doing, I told her what I wanted(square with layers) and I also showed her three pictures of the haircut. I ended up with an ugly uneven stateboard haircut. The right side was 4inches shorter than the left side. She’s the worst hairstylist. She didn’t listen and then she blamed me for her ruining my hair! Horrible customer service and this place is a dump!

I came here because of recommendations from my friends and family. My split ends were driving me crazy and I couldn’t wait for an appointment with my usual hair stylist so I decided to give scissor shack a try. The ladies there are so friendly and Kim gave me the exact cut that I wanted! I know it can be scary trusting new places with your hair, but definitely give them a chance! They’re awesome!

Was in dire need of a haircut, as my ‘do’ had been royally screwed up by a chain hair cuttery type place, so i was really hoping for a good experience, checked on Unilocal and found this place. I booked an appointment over the phone, showed up about 15 minutes early to browse magazines, and was in the chair precisely at my scheduled time. I showed Phung(my stylist) the do I had in mind, and she smiled, said«oh yes, I can do,» and started snipping away. She was sweet and chatty, but not excessively so(which I like). In about 30 minutes, I had EXACTLY what I wanted. Short, slightly punky razor bob. She did GREAT! Decided to go ahead and have my mangy eyebrows done as well, and she tidied them up perfectly. The price? Fabulous. $ 28 for a wax and cut. I tipped heavily, and you should too. Absolutely going back again and again…

They do a really good job on men’s haircuts. It’s always surprisingly busy the place gets on a regular weekday. I highly recommend this place!

Got my eyebrows done here and I thought they were okay until I noticed the burning feeling wasn’t going away. I’ve gotten my eyebrows waxed plenty of times before at Benefit and never once have I had my skin ripped off my eyebrows. I’m in so much pain right now I can’t believe this would happen…
