THISPLACESUCKS! Rude employees. Yelling at each other like idiots. Long lines at the check out. The store closes at 10pm. If you walk in at 9:40pm, the employees will give you dirty looks as you walk in the front door and then hound you about their closing time. Leave me alone before I put you to work. The blonde«manager» lady was in front of me at the gas station the other night spun out of her mind, rambling on the attendant about a bunch of missing money from her store and a suspected employee… She was talking a million miles an hour… Tweakin out.

Good food and product selection but there is never enough checkers. There is always a wait. Today only two checkers and at least 5 deep in line. They did not have any more checkers available. I have seen people walk in, saw the line and left. I feel so badly for the checkers as they have to handle the complaints. Where is the manager or assistant manager???

Great store but you need to watch when checking out. Most of the time my items don’t ring up at the correct price. Doesn’t have the same feel as when they first opened. The larger selection of products is great. They always need more checkstands open. The produce isn’t the same quality as before. Sometimes you go in and they have an empty meat section.

Nice remodel, but for the pass months been rushed out. Disappointed with the customer service. The employees were not always this way. No greeting, not even a hello. I have to put my own groceries in my bag and cart.

Newly renovated bigger is better. They expanded smart n final and took part of Staples. Opens early and closes later than Costco at comparable prices. Bought seedless watermelon that were juicy from here. They now have more alcoholic beverages and meat selection. Their check out counters are cute it is babes after streets in Seaside except for one… «Lighthouse» unless there is a street by that name that im unaware of.

Hi, I shopped at store #455 today and was extremely disappointed in the entire experience. To start with when I got there there were NO shopping carts anywhere to be found inside or outside of the store. I asked a cashier Kayla where all the carts were and she rudely said«out front» and did not offer to help me in any way whatsoever. Finally after searching the parking lot I found a shopping cart and proceeded inside. The store was in shambles due to it being under construction. I even met a fellow shopper in an aisle and she says to me «I don’t think they thought their construction process through properly.» As I reached the checkout line I asked the checkout clerk Kayla if the store carried any Clorox toiler disposable toilet cleaners, her response to me was«I don’t know». She didn’t bother to ask a manager or another employee if they indeed did carry them. I would like to mention this employee Kayla, hardly spoke English. Her accent was so heavy I could barely understand a word she said. Not to mention she spoke extremely low which only made it that much harder to understand her. When I proceeded to run my credit card it declined due to the fact that I had just shopped right next door at Staples. Apparently doing this causes a red flag with my companies credit card company and they declined the transaction. Kayla was extremely rude about this and caused me quite some embarrassment as though I was trying to use a stolen credit card or something. Because I could barely understand a word she said and because of her blatant rudeness a fellow shopper had to explain to me why my companies credit card had been declined due to fraud protection. In the end I offered to just use a different card so I could just get out of the store already. As I was leaving the store the front doors were closed shut. As Kayla opened them up for me she did the strangest thing, she shouted extremely loudly that I had«bumped her foot» with my cart. The strange part was I was nowhere near her or her foot. Even though I knew I had not bumped her I apologized and got out of the store as fast as I could. I was more than eager to be out of that store. This was the worst shopping trip I have ever experienced. I now no longer wish to take my companies or my personal shopping there. I sincerely hope this was just a fluke experience and things at this store do not happen like this all the time.

Went there for a turkey. I was told if I spent $ 25.00 I would only pay .53 per pound. So I pulled 30.00 or so worth of grocery. I had to ask the cashier to get me a turkey form the back because they only had small ones. He too told me about the great deal I would get. Brought me out a perfect turkey. Went to pay, was charged full price. I told the cashier a mistake was made. Turns out it had to be a frozen turkey. Fine, I told them the size I needed, in the meantime they had to refund my purchase and start over, after all that turns out they did not have the size I needed. I was there almost an hour, and instead of being gracious and letting me get the original turkey for the sale price, they said oh well, what do you want to do? I left, with nothing. Poor customer service. It was their mistake, they should have honored it.

We have shopped at this store for years, and will continue to… however, will stick to non– perishables only. After my last bag of potatoes were green enough to be a St. Patrick’s day joke, I thought back over some other unfortunate purchases. Milk that turned several days prior to expiration, bag of baby shrimp that were so freezer burned they were tossed, frozen pot stickers that were blackish(must have sat out, spoiled and were refrozen). We live far enough away to make returning stuff not worth it, and when you tell the manager, they don’t care, act like you are trying to con them.

The store is great. BUT… I called them to ask for a specific item. I was put on hold for a long time. Finally my phone got transferred to another person and that person said that the item is in the store. I asked him again if he was 100% sure.(Because it is a rare product to find in a regular store) He answered with a very arrogant way«Yes, I am sure, I purchased the items, so I know we have it» Guess what!!! It is a wrong item!!! Went there for NOTHING!!! Thanks for being a jerk! nice customer service!

They are now selling fresh produce at the front of the store, very interesting. The prices are right. Check them out.

Finally getting used to the new layout and all the new employees. Some of them have really helped me out and sometimes turn their right cheek when they see me climbing the shelves to grab something or a case of napkins 10 feet above my head. The staff is very patient even though their customer are not. How do I know? I’m in here at least 3 times a week and I see some crazies in line and the staff just suck it up and smile. I just smile at them and wink.

I have never been into Smart & Final prior to a few days ago. Wow! I am blown away. They have so much miscellaneous stuff. I love cleaning and I love cleaning product and this place was a treasure trove of industrial grade and industrial only cleaning products. Do you know that they make Windex with vinegar? it takes just a few swipes to clean your windows and mirrors with this stuff. I didn’t have much time, but I will be back to peruse the aisles. Don’t be tricked by their Sriacha though. It was not the same as the brand with the green lid.

Way cheaper than Safeway, and it’s even cheaper than Costco. I’ve been building a database of prices of all three stores and S&F is consistently cheaper than either. As an example, S&F has Better than Bouillanaise that is about $ 1.30 cheaper than Costco for a lb. of it, and almost $ 6 cheaper than Safeway.

Chefs review, the house brand is a pretty reliable product. I especially like the pancake mix! Store is clean and I can always find what I need. Staff friendly, Taylor is the nicest manager/cashier. Love this store. Pretty much like a smaller costco.
