I work to connect with students and the material, and to identify the most important next step in mastering the skills for success. Beyond writing instruction I work with issues in gifted education, provide academic support, and offer content editing services to students and professionals.

I also provide individual and, upon request, small group instruction in several genres of creative writing.

History

Established in 2010.

14 years Teaching full-​time at The Evergreen School, and previously in High Schools was rewarding, but consuming. Seventy-​hour weeks were not unusual because students need a certain quality of feedback to make the best progress in their writing. I’m just not willing to short-​change my students. Now that I’m back in graduate school and finally writing my own books, I’m able to devote the highest quality of attention to my tutoring and editing clients. I miss the intensity of the classroom, but now it’s all about the writing. My students come from all over: Evergreen, SCDS, Pacific Crest Montesori, UW, Shorecrest HS, Ballard HS, and Lakeside –seven days per week.
