Established in 2007.

Headquartered in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, the company is locally owned, locally run and deeply connected to the local community. Third generation builder Kirk Gronvold launched Blue Water Design Build in 2007 after working in a family-​owned construction company since he was old enough to swing a hammer.



Built on Tradition

At Blue Water Design Build, our roots reach back more than 50 years when Kirk’s grandfather came to Seattle from Norway. He brought with him the skill and experience of master craftsmen from his own country and began building homes.
