Broadcast Coffee Roasters

Nice little neighborhood café… Went in there the other day for a latte which was absolutely fantastic, and a little snack… Didn’t care for their snack selection much and what I chose was a chocolate chip cookie which was overly salty! Everyone in there was a bit friendly and the atmosphere was nice.

Broadcast offers a better selection than most coffee shops with great beans and a decent selection of food options, although recent upgrades left me not at all regretting that I missed my chance to contribute to the crowdfunding effort. They make an excellent borgia and the vanilla latte helped me to find an answer to my long-​standing question of, «What the hell does anyone see in vanilla lattes?»
The small staff is incredibly personal. Plan for a few extra minutes if you’re stopping by before work; this spot is always hopping (and with good reason), and they can only sling out beverages so fast. The tradeoff is that you’ll get to start your day of with a welcome and a beverage that are both served warm.

It’s nice to have good coffee in the Central District, and I’ll probably come back here once in a while. But the Wi-​Fi connection is slow and choppy — one day it just didn’t work at all. Maybe I’m a spoiled brat, but to me it’s like having heat during the winter — it’s a basic expectation. Anyway, the vibe and music are nice, the baristas are great, and the cookies are tasty. Just don’t hold your breath if you need to get online work done.

I’m about to move to this neighborhood and wanted to check out my coffee shop options. Happily, Broadcast Coffee is a winner!
Employees seem very friendly towards folks who just want to buy a cup of coffee and hang out for a few hours. On that note, they’re friendly, non-​pretentious hipsters. You know, the good kind of hipsters, the ones you want to be friends with because they’ll bring good stuff to your potluck and crack cool jokes.
The internet is fast and mostly reliable. It was down when I first started trying to use it, but an employee was quick to reset it and it was back and working for the rest of the time I was there.
Great loose-​leaf selection and the staff behind the counter was knowledgeable about which one wouldn’t be too flowery. They also gave me a few refills of hot water on the house.
I knocked off a star because damn was it cold in there. Either they don’t have heat, or they keep it turned low on purpose, but I never got warm enough to take off my coat and scarf.

I had passed by Broadcast Coffee a number of times since arriving in Seattle, and finally decided to stop in when I found myself passing it yet again just when I was really wanting some coffee.
I was extremely impressed by a number of things during my short visit:
— Though the person at the counter was busy making a drink for someone else, she automatically acknowledged me when I walked up to the counter.
— When another customer attempted to walk in front of me, the employee very politely informed that customer that I was next to be helped.
— They have Mighty-O’s donuts and vegan GF treats from Flying Apron!
— They offer hemp milk as a milk alternative and also have vegan pumpkin spice lattes!
— They have agave nectar and other sweetener options available.
— My drink was AMAZING, some of the best coffee I’ve had since being in Seattle.
— There is a very good amount of seating including a large community table in the middle that has the biggest powerstrip I have ever seen for people who need to plug in.
— There are power outlets located near almost every seat.
— A microwave is available to heat up grab and go items.
— Bike parking is available directly in front of the shop.
Basically I couldn’t find any cons with this place and really loved the superior customer service, delicious tasting coffee, and the great work atmosphere. I hope to stop in again before I leave Seattle.

Was staying near this café, had a coffee to perk my day (it certainly did). They roast their own beans to ensure quality, and to tasting before it hits the store! kinda dig that.
Awesome and friendly staff, like the coziness of the place too.

I’m from out of town and a place where I have access to very good coffee. I know good coffee but drink it as I get it — so not a snob. I was intrigued by the variety of reviews so wanted to check this place out. Got there about 8am on a Saturday, three other customers. Got a smile as soon as I got through the door from one of the two women working there and a second one from the other at the counter. Ordered «just a cup of coffee» and was pleasantly surprised by the taste black and with cream. Had a «good morning» muffin, small, cold and just okay. Total was less than $ 5. A refill of my coffee mug was 82 cents (really). The place was spartan, clean aesthetic, somewhat chilly in feel but okay. A guy came in at one point for coffee and a roll and sang along with the pleasant music for a bit. I liked that.
When I read the one and two star reviews I feel sorry for those people. They must need a lot, feel the world owes them a lot and generally be unpleasant people.

Pretentious but I guess that is what I should have expected coming in here honestly.
I am not a huge «Seattle» person but I was in the area for a photo shoot and this was close.
Full of hipsters, not shocking. Small menu, attitude and the coffee was not great. It had a very nutty taste to it which I am not a fan of. I ordered a lemon bread too and got no lemon taste from it at all.
I don’t think either person working even said one word to me.
I wouldn’t be back at all. I would drive further away and get less tude’ and better coffee. Sucks because I like supporting small business’ but not when you act like that. Your customers are your livelihood.

A coffee shop built exactly how it should be:
Great beans, talented crew, unpretentious atmosphere, WiFi.
I use this place for reading, writing, and rhetoric. And to deepen the addiction, while my life into oblivion, and neglect my family.

Man, I feel the need to broadcast my recent experiences at this cool little joint. I’ve been three times in the last month and a half and each time my iced mocha has been delicious. They’ve got some good beans brewing up in there along with just the right mixture of chocolate, ice and milk. I’m pretty picky about espresso/​coffee and this place makes me happy…

I’m always on the hunt for a nice work/​social café. This one’s got it! Good coffee, the matcha late is fun when I’m looking to treat myself. I always like the music and volume level. The crowd is friendly with a neighborhood feel.

This a good spot for studying and working as well as having a nice cup of coffee. I was thrilled to find this place in the Central District. There is plenty of seating and a broad mix of customers from the hipster crowd to parents with their toddlers. The baristas are very friendly and helpful. I spilled my espresso before I was able to drink it and the barista made me another one. That in itself made me want to keep coming back.

I keep going back here because I live in the area, and each time I leave remembering why I can’t seem to like the place. Coffee is ok, baristas are usually nice aside from the short haired gal whom seems so annoyed serving anyone aside from her friends. The look on her face makes me feel like I just ran over her cat or something…

I want to like it here but never really dig the coffee. It’s usually quite bitter, and the pastries are not good. (However, it is hard to find good pastries in the area.)
The location is great and convenient, their WiFi is handy (if, as sometimes it goes, it isn’t working, ask the barista to reset it); windows and occasional outdoor seating are lovely. Salads are good if you catch em before they sell out!
A good neighborhood spot, I go here because it’s convenient and cozy, but am not really a fan of their coffee nor breakfast options.
Still giving them four stars though, because I appreciate that they are working hard to offer the CD a nice, hospitable venue. :)

They’ve got delicious, inexpensive coffee and espresso beverages. It smells like a fresh pot of roasted coffee every time I walk in. It’s also spacious with numerous outlets for guests looking to get stuff done on their laptops. Very convenient coffee spot for me and any nearby residents to grab a drink, study and/​or chill!

Used to live off yesler and loved coming to this place on Sunday’s. Reasonably priced and GREAT coffee. Trumps most other coffee places I’ve been to. Their chocolate is hand made and delicious. I recommend getting their mocha. It’s pretty dang good. I’ll be a forever customer.

One of my favorite coffee shops in the area.
Lots of choices for milk, super kind baristas, and space to move about. Molly’s sandwiches (like the Hangry Vegan, which I can’t help but order every time), and a super delicious Caramello. It’s a simple place… nothing too frou frou about it. I walk quite a long while to get my coffee from here… I even hike up and down some hills, with my toddler strapped to me, and my older toddler in a stroller. I like to think of it as a workout, but really, I just love the coffee.

I think the baristas are friendly. The place is clean. I can’t speak to the hipster-​ness of it, but it’s a nice place to chill out and work or pretend to work or read or even drink coffee. There is a power strip under the center large table, but they are scarcer around the sides.
I like the location. I like things.

At least it isn’t Starbucks.
I generally get a lukewarm (slacker college kid 101) reception and ho hum unremarkable cuppa. It’s less hip than Stumptown, less pretentious than Victrola, less interesting than Vita. But it’s like they’re trying too hard to be less so, so anyway it’s awkward. Basically, they’re like the fifth wheel of hipster coffee shops. Maybe I’m wrong. Whatever.
Now that I think about it, I had a shot in the dark that is worth remarking; it was pretty gruelling. It had a a really fruity top note that always reminds me of a diaper bin. Like Yuban and coffeemate in a church basement somewhere. Chalk that up to the variety and roast of the bean. Can’t blame the barista on that one.
I will say that the location, overseeing the park in the big picture windows is pleasant, even on a stormy morning. There is art on the walls and the latest installation caught my eye. Go check it out.
Or don’t. Whatever, man.

Ok, I have spent many mornings here now. After they get to know you the staff is really friendly. Great place to go if you need food, great coffee and a place to work remotely.
Oh BTW great place to people watch, full of hispters, homeless looking freelancers and bikers.
