I enjoy coming here to sundries including coffee, charcoal, beer and milk. The staff here are great. Moving to Seattle has left me feeling like what was before sorely missing was a true Bodega or deli. As Stendhal may profess yet on a mundane key, this deli figures beauty as the promise of happiness. But there are so many other reasons to support this local cornerstone. In another review for a café down the street, I took issue with overpriced artisanal food that the manager proudly brags about as being«from award winning bakeries.» Begging to differ from such over-valorization, I noted how there are better alternatives in Central. I was partly thinking of snacks and beer here because not only is it better in terms if economic value but also such a much needed community asset as cornerstone claims witness to the splendor of the neighborhood’s diversity as exemplified by an immigrant-ran business without the conceit of branding and defining the community according to market-minded credos of the«coffee community.» In terms of snacks, the food here offers an accessible alternative to the trite fancy donuts that go for a classy three dollars elsewhere. If you want to be part of the neighborhood community and support a multiethnic locale, please do visit.(If you want overpriced rents and overly instrumental«corporate social responsibility, try that other place!)

did you know i lived in london when i was a kid? well i did. my best friends name was Sandeep. His mom owned a little grocery store and she used to get super pissed at us when we would steal candy from her store. She would yell at Sandeep in this high pitched… voice…“SANDEEEEEEEP, SANDEEEEP.” That was my que to run away to my house and eat all of the candy that i had stolen from sandeep’s mom. Yesler grocery has great candy. but i don’t steal it anymore because I am an adult and I can afford it sometimes. they also have great beer and other variety of random things. Sandeep freeking loves this place.
