COIT Cleaning and Restoration

I called 2 weeks ago to set up an appointment to get a free estimate for my tile and grout areas. Was told that, the estimator would leave me a message giving me an expected time for his arrival that afternoon. I raced home from work to find that I had no message from Coit, so I called them and was told that I was not on their schedule!
If they can’t handle setting up an appointment, why would I want to do business with them? So beware.

I had Coit come to clean some carpets in my home and take an area rug for cleaning. It has been nothing but a disappointment and a hassle.
Trying to get the appointment scheduled was a feat unto itself because they had to reschedule twice because they were overbooked. They finally came out and upsold me with all of the various options of stain guard and other special treatments.
The two guys that came didn’t want to take the rug with them because they felt they didn’t have room in their truck so they called another guy to come and pick it up. They saw the rug and knew what they were dealing with. After sitting around for another few hours the guy comes to pick up the rug. No surprise he couldn’t carry it himself. It is a large 8×10 shag rug. He wanted me to help him and lift it over my head which wasn’t going to be happening. They now needed to reschedule to have someone else come out and pick up the rug. The next day two guys came to pick up the rug. I made the mistake of paying for all of the work at the time the carpets were cleaned. Caveat Emptor. The day comes when we are getting our «cleaned» area rug back. They show up and bring the rug in and we unroll it and it doesn’t look any different than it did when it left and in fact I noticed that was debris in the rug. Some beads were clearly evident along with other miscellaneous debris. I proceed to vacuum the rug that was supposedly «cleaned.» After vacuuming and dumping the canister seven (7) times we are pretty much convinced they didn’t clean this rug. It doesn’t make sense. I immediately called them to talk to them about the unsatisfactory job they did on the rug and our suspicion that it wasn’t even cleaned. The customer service agent I spoke with, Cathy, was very nice and said that the area manager would call me back and make this right. When he didn’t call for four (4) days I called again. Danielle said that someone would call me back. After another 2 days I called again and was actually redirected to a Coit in another state because there was no one available at all. They also said that someone would call me back. I am still waiting by the phone for a call back…

OVERPRICED! Coit had two separate technicians come to our home – one for the air ducts and one for the other services we wanted. They refused to quote prices over the phone. We have a very small home, with eight air ducts. It cost $ 300 to have them cleaned. When the other technician arrived, it cost $ 370 to have the grout cleaned in two very small bathrooms, our one sofa cleaned, and the extremely small carpeted staircase cleaned (it only has ten narrow stairs going up to our attic). Each technician was only in the home for approximately 30 minutes. You are essentially guilt-​tripped into agreeing to the cost because they refuse to give you a price over the phone, and the technician is already ready to start when you are given the price. Also, the grout in the bathrooms looked the same to me. I thought at least they would be able to take out the red marker that the previous owner’s daughter had drawn in the grout lines, but it is still there. Needless to say, I won’t be using Coit again.

I called for a same day appointment and they were very accommodating for such a quick request. Chris who showed up was prompt, courteous and very professional. I would recommend them to friends and family after the hard work Chris put in. Most importantly they were on time! Today hard work and being timely are rare to find with service companies. Coit/​Chris showed that it’s still possible.

Let me make this clear to anyone who considers COIT Cleaners. DO NOT USE THEM! THEY HAVE NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS! On 02÷19÷15, COIT was called to move an appointment from February to March. After my first conversations with one person, Latino, who could not understand basic English regarding my need to schedule an intense carpet clearning, she started arguing with me about I would receive a call a day before the cleaning appointment letting me know when COIT would be arriving. I told Ms. Lation that «no» I needed to set the schedule for when COIT would be arriving in March. She then proceeded to argue with me about «who did you speak» to! I insisted on speaking to her supervisor, and does Ms. Attitude Latino do, HANGS UP THE PHONE ON A REPEAT CUSTOMER! I call back a second time, and I get someone else by the first name of «Denise» and this experience was not any better!
Ok COIT… you would think that customer service skills are important to maintaining repeat customers, ensuring that you meet and excede your customer’s expectations, but seriously train your reps on the phone etiques!!!

I was kind of scared after seeing all the negative reviews on this place. Our landlord recommended them and we booked a cleaning, though I was hesitant. Our carpets are pretty clean (no stains really) but the previous tenant, the landlord, lived there for 9 years and had little dogs — so the place smelled strongly of pet urine when we moved in.
The COIT guy showed up, was friendly and funny, assessed about a $ 200 tag for a full cleaning plus deodorizing, and got to work. The whole thing took about 25 minutes and our carpets are just about finished drying now. The smell (formerly very intense) is now gone and we’re happy with the results and the cost.
Maybe others have had bad experiences, but ours was really good!

I had a great experience with COIT today. I had heard of their 40% all services sale and since our dog has totally wrecked our bedroom carpet, we were in dire need of deep, DEEP cleaning. I booked the job two weeks earlier and was assured I’d get the cleaners to come in the morning (as I requested), and they’d call the day prior with a more finite time frame.
Yesterday afternoon I got a call that the cleaner would be here between 0830 – 0930 hrs today.
This morning, the carpet cleaner was early; as I was outside with my kid at 8:20 am, the COIT truck was already waiting there! I told the guy to come on in. (Wish I remembered his name).
Long story short: the guy did a great job. He deep steam cleaned the bedroom carpet and hallway, and I also got the bedroom deodorized (dang, my dog! Don’t ask). No price surprises, it cost what the lady on the phone had estimated (which I had confirmed with the cleaner before he worked his magic). I thought the price was very reasonable (at least, with the 40% off). We are very happy with the results and the service.

These guys didn’t even show up between the time frame they said they would be here for our «consult.» No call or anything afterwards!

We paid over $ 200.00 with their 40% «special» and it was the worse job. After asking what the normal drying time was I was told 1 day but it took 3 days to dry because the guy soaked our carpets and then tried to over compensate with the machine to get the excess water out of the carpets which caused us to have them re-​stretched. When we called to complain we were told that we must have «cheap» carpets which is NOT the case. After several calls a guy arrived to access the situation then we were told that the carpet had been installed incorrectly. We have had the carpets cleaned before by other companies and have never had a problem, they have dried in one day and we have never had to have them re-​stretched at OUR expense. Will never use this company again, they do not take responsibility for any of their actions, it’s always the customers fault. Have spoken to several other customers of this company who have had similar complaints…

Recently had carpets cleaned since we were moving out of our apartment. We were very impressed with the professionalism of our cleaning specialist, Josh. He did a very thorough job. He was personable, friendly, professional and put us at ease. He did an in-​home estimate and cleaned our carpets right afterwards. We also appreciated that he called ahead to let us know he would be there within the hour. Coit also allows you to reserve carpet cleaning online. Overall we had a great experience with Coit.

These people could really use some lessons in communications. Firstly I call to cancel my first appointment to reschedule for today only to have one person show up and another one call… now today when I’m sitting in waiting NO ONE SHOWS. You lost our business Coit! Next time try caring about the customer instead of making it sound like it’s our fault.

We had a leather couch that had seen years of wear and a sick cat that had spoiled several of the cushions. We called Coit and CJ came out to help. He was extremely professional, inspected the stains and gave me his honest opinion. CJ did a FANTASTIC job. He was thorough, efficient and very helpful. I would most definately recommend Coit for your cleaning needs.

COIT called me a few monts later (just so happened to be when i was moving out of my apartment) and offered me 45%, i figured i would give them another try. They were actually on time this time! what a pleasant surprise! The price was right for the carpets, $ 150 for the couch cleaning was a little silly i thought since the full apartment was only $ 120 to clean the floors. I was happy with the result so i felt compelled to update my review. Thanks guys you’re A-​OK

I just wanted to write a quick review to show my appreciation for the quality of service that I received when using COIT to clean my carpets. I decided to go to COIT of Seattle, because a friend recommended me, and I have never made a better decision in my life. Whenever you move out of an apartment, priority number one is to get as much of your deposit back as is humanly possible. Needless to say, there were some issues with the carpet that were causing me to fear that I would lose the deposit entirely. COIT came in, and without blinking an eye, they removed wine stains, pet stains, and dirt from heavy traffic areas (and at an affordable price too!) I received my whole deposit back as a result! I really appreciate the hard work they put in, as well as the effort they made to make the process as painless as possible for me. Thanks COIT!

Yeah. They never even cleaned our carpets because the guy diidn’t have a long enough hose. He muttered some excuse then left. Also after a $ 200 quote for our 700 sq foot living room. I never heard from Coit after that either. I guess they don’t want our money.

Bait and Switch!
Estimator told us they would clean under the beds. Therefore we hired them. When the guy came to clean the carpeting, he said they could NOT clean under the beds (plus he REEKED of smoke). Also put some gashes in the wall. Better Business Bureau tried to get a response from the company and they didn’t reply. Sent me a $ 100 gift card — so when do they think I’ll need them cleaned again? DON’T HIRE THEM.

What a waste of money! (reviewing Coit in Tacoma, WA)
The first day Coit was supposed to show up was a no show. The next day the guy came almost an hour later than he was scheduled. When started setting up I left him alone to work. I figured he would be busy for at least an hour. Instead, when I returned about 20 minutes later, he was putting his supplies away! I checked his work before he left and complained about one area that didn’t come clean. He made some excuse about how he had used the strongest stuff he had. This was the same area that another company had no problem getting clean.
Find an independent company with one or two people. They will do a much better job because their livelihood depends on it.

So after paying Hundreds of $$ I would think that my carpets would look great. Nope. They look bad. They didn’t even look much better right away much less now that its been a month. No stains were removed any my carpet doesn’t look any whiter. It looks over all adarker shade than it did before, almost like soap was left on and attracted more dirt. I’m very dissapointed.
When I called coit to tell them and ask for maybe a re-​do I had to leave a message and have yet to hear a reply. Any good advise on a better carpet cleaner let me know!
