Comfort Inn & Suites

We choose this hotel to stay at as this location because it was recommended by a friend who is a fight attendant and I trust her judgment. The other party who was staying there said it was a dump. Far from it! It was lovely. The front desk personnel were great and very courteous to us. I had made this reservation online and paid for it upfront. We felt the rate was reasonable for the area. When we checked in, we were pleasantly surprised to see they had upgraded us to a lovely suite, being as we were getting married up in Seattle on this stay. We had a lovely and spacious suite with a full kitchen and living room. The king sized bed was very comfortable. We ate the provided breakfast only one of the days but it was okay. Your usual typical hotel provided breakfast, but it had lots of variety. All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. It is not in the heart of Seattle but just far enough North to be out of the hubbub and traffic of downtown Seattle. And you can take Aurora right into downtown without ever having to get on the freeway. There was lots of parking around the building and they have an enclosed parking area too. While no hotel is 100% perfect, All in all a good choice.

It started with my room smelling foul. My neighboring room was LOUD. Yelling on speaker phone. I let the staff know and also let the staff know the Internet would not connect. I left for dinner and came back. Now there were several people yelling in the room next door. The room had an adjoining door which I made sure was locked as these individuals did not sound like the most friendly people. I called the front desk who said they had no other rooms to switch me to and they’d talk to the neighboring room. Nothing ever happened. The people next door sounded angry with each other. I listened to the fighting and loud television for a couple more hours until around midnight I heard them having very loud sex and yelling. Called the front desk. Nothing. My sheets smelled strongly of bleach and by the morning I was itching all over. Spoke with staff upon check out who lectured me that the neighboring groom should have been respectful and that my itchiness was not related to their hotel room and that the strong bleach smell was company policy. What? By the end of the day I had red bumps and welts all over my body. I ended up with medications for tiny bumps and a rash. I called the hotel Saturday and Sunday and was told they could do nothing about it and had no manager on duty with whom to speak. Very disappointing and disturbing.
Do not stay here. I tossed it back and forth and finally decided on it due to distance from NSCC for a one day training. I would have been better off at a nicer hotel and with an hour commute, since I got about an hour or two of sleep once I stopped itching and the neighboring room (likely) passed out.

Finding a parking space was difficult. We were lucky to find one indoor but our car overlaped onto another lane. The man at the front desk was pleasant. Place is dated and needs updating. After getting off the elevator, we noticed a stale sweet smell, like the establishment sprayed the area to cover up a previous bad odor. Entering our room, it was worst. The smell was like an old kitchen restaurant when food was left out. We immediately left the room to leave the premises so we didn’t have to stay any longer than we had to. Before bedtime, I would put a scarf over my face so I wouldn’t have to subject the awful odor. We left early the next morning, without using the shower because we couldn’t stand being there.

We stayed just 1 night, and everything good! We found an Internet and AAA good deal !!! The bedroom was a king bed, and it had a kitchen, the bed was very very comfortable. The area has a very different stores and restaurants. We have plans to come back and stay there again !

I should not even give one star, a family friend is in town for the Rush concert and had a room at The Comfort Inn. At 3:00 am the family woke up to being bitten by bed bugs. Thet had to pack all of there belongings and find another room for the duration of there time in Washington state. The investigation has to be active. The biggest bug was. ½ inch to an inch. Do Not Stay at this hotel!

We checked in here back in December of 2012, and I wrote the following then, but somehow it stayed as a draft. Anyway, this is what I had to say that night, and I haven’t been back.
I’ve never demanded my money back from a hotel, but I did here! First of all the room they gave us stunk; it had a bad smell. When I pulled the sheets back I found small black particles… I don’t know what they were, but further inspection revealed many stands of black hair. I called the front desk and asked for the beds to be re-​made. My wife was down next to the lobby to look at the spa, when she went by the desk the desk manager handed her sheets and blankets so that WE could remake the beds! We had been in the room for less than a half hour but they still would not give us our money back for the one night stating it was past the 24 hour cancellation window. Thank goodness expedia was willing to take responsibilty for misrepresenting that this hotel had a pool when they did not and they fully refunded our money. Do not stay at this hotel!!!

Just had the most recent of many stays here and, as usual, was quite pleased. Depending on traffic, this hotel is a short drive from everywhere you need to be in Seattle. If you drive north on Aurora, you’re just a few blocks away from Shoreline — groceries, Walgreen’s, Shari’s, etc. This is helpful when you don’t want to pay Seattle premiums for simple, every day stuff you might need during your visit.
The staff is really friendly all hours of the day and night. Our car has never been tampered with during any of our stays and the parking is (at this moment) free. I always recommend asking before booking how much a hotel charges for parking — especially in Seattle. The room has always been clean.
The continental breakfast is all inclusive and free — make your own waffles, scrambled egg patties (ok…that one is a little weird, but protein is protein), sausage links, pastries, cereal, toasts and juices/​coffee/​tea. It’s all there. Better than most hotels in this price range.
I took half a star off because the location, while it’s always been safe to us, looks sketchy. It’s in a rougher part of Seattle, but we’ve never had any problems. Another half a star because the only working vending room (I must have ice… it’s a thing) was on the second floor. The vending room on the 3^rd and 4^th floors were closed (naturally, I tried every floor but the working one first LOL).

I stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks on a work related trip. On Wednesday before thanksgiving, I checked out of this hotel. I was in a hurry and left my make up bag. I didn’t even realize I left it until Wednesday evening when I was already home. I called the hotel and was told by Candice that it wasn’t in their lost and found drawer, she then hung up in my face without letting me say another word. So I called back and told her I need to report a theft at that hotel because my bag was left in my room and now it’s missing. Candice changed her tone very quickly saying that she needed to contact her housekeeping manager, Monica and they would call me back after thanksgiving. Friday, around 7pm, having not received a call back, I called the hotel and spoke with a man who had a very heavy accent and had didn’t even know what a toiletry bag was. So I asked to speak with his supervisor. The supervisor couldn’t help me and said he would leave another message for Monica. I was started to get really frustrated. On Saturday, I called again and spoke with another front desk agent and she said that she could see all my messages for Monica but my bag wasn’t there. She was also very abrupt. After my last call I decided to call Choice Hotels and file a complaint with Guest Relations. They told me the general manager had 72 hours to resolve my complaint. I called again Sunday because I just wanted to confirm with someone that my bag was there. Candice answered the phone after I called 3 times with no answer. And she was extremely rude. I’m not sensitive nor thin skinned, but she was INCREDIBLY rude. She would cut me off before I could finish my sentence, she told me that Monica’s family member had passed away and that «family is more important that your little bag» I didn’t even know what to say. Family is important but that has nothing to do with just trying to get someone to tell me if my toiletry bag was there. After arguing with here for 10 minutes or so she told me that she would call me back after she checked the housekeepers carts to see if it was put there. That was the first time this was even offered to me after calling 4 times in 4 days. But of course, NO ONE CALLED ME BACK. So on Monday I called again, and Candice answered the phone when I explained who I was and why I was calling and she sighed so heavily like I was an inconvenience and said, «no one called you? We don’t have it. «and hung up in my face. I never heard from the general manager. I’m just really disappointed in how this hotel handled my STOLEN property. I did call and file a police report, but don’t expect any results.

Read some bad reviews but decided to take a chance and was delightfully surprised. Front desk staff was polite, breakfast was well stocked! Always love make your own waffles! The room came with a kitchen which we didn’t need or want nor was it told to us there would be one in our room and it was included in the price! The parking was inside and out and was under surveillance. The bed was the very best part! More comfortable than my own bed at home!!! Was very reasonably priced and it’s not in the madness of downtown. We ended up staying 4 nights!

My wife and I stayed there for three nights, and I don’t think we will make the same choice again.
The parking space was just too small, and we were only driving a mid size rental.
You need the room key card to make the elevator work, but you have to be very lucky to make it work just in a few tries.
The interior of the room we stayed in was very dated and dark. The room surprisingly had a mini kitchen which could come in handy but it definitely could use a better housekeeping job.
In the room we could clearly hear the next door watching TV, talking, and the upstairs walking. We got woken up by these noises several times every night.
Free breakfast, but not much else to mention about it.

Enjoying my stay here. Very nice staff, and very helpful. Elevator smelled a bit funny, but that is my only complaint. Besides the fact that I have to go downstairs to smoke. But hey… I’m a smoker. I have to become accustomed to the changing of the times. The room was clean, and smelled AMAZING. updated furniture, and television. Small bathroom, but who goes to a hotel to be in the bathroom for any extended period of time? Wish the hot tub was up and running. Will wait for that before I return, since that is what I look for in a hotel.

The hotel is on the main drag so you can avoid I-5’s traffic jams. It’s also just a short drive to a nice little walking trail — drive up to 145 street and turn left until it dead ends.
The bed is comfortable and the front desk is helpful. BUT, you must call them to reserve a microwave in the room. Otherwise there’s a small one in the lobby you can use. One excellent thing is that they have a small covered parking area along with the outside parking. There’s some grass outside by the sidewalk (for dogs). The dog rate is high $ 25 a night. The breakfast is the usual small breakfast set-​up. The eating area is VERY small, so you end up either taking it back to your room, or out in to the lobby waiting area that too gets filled up soon. Price wise, compared to the other Seattle hotels this is on the low end. I paid $ 119 for a kingsize for an summer stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Ewwww it smells funny here. And it’s kinda old. It just feels dirty. It should have been 40 buck a night, not over 100!

My husband, two children and I chose this hotel for the rate of a two bed room back in January. We sadly left Magnolia because the rent was going up where we lived and we could not find a place to live in time. We ended up living there for six months, unfortunately, but I will give them the credit for allowing us to stay. The workers there were very friendly. Some worked harder to satisfy your stay than others. Frustrating at times when certain workers did not understand my request or seemed not willing to really assist me. We ended up getting into a suite apartment that had a kitchen, living room, bathroom and bedroom. It cost more to live there than renting an apartment. It was like a morgage payment, but at least they were willing to adjust the price before it started to get busy. The manager Scott was friendly and helpful. The owner Michael, Korean man, did not have proper communication skills. If Scott was busy and if Michael was near the front desk, he never answered. Michaels office was in the back room of the front desk. In my view, if you are owner, you pick up whatever tasks someone else can’t do if they are busy.
Occasionally I would see Michael and he would be at times nice, but other times he really frustrated me. Explained: parking spaces are small. There is not much room. Well, Michael learned which cars my husand and I used. I was leaving with my family out one of the side doors. He never tried learning my name. He flags me down by running and saying «Heah, you can’t be parking like that. The weekends get busy and there is only one space for one of your cars. The other one on the street.» Has he forgotten who gives him the bacon? Not saying we should hog the spots, but to inconvenience us, like we are not guests. Terrible to be confronted in that way or at all. We had been their longest staying guests. His wife was sweet though. She offered me some popsicles. She should have been there running the show. She was Korean too. Then the second time was the last day. Check out time is at twelve and I asked Scott if I could be a little late. He said it was ok, but the owner was around later that morning and I guess could not accommodate that request because I received a phone call in our room asking why I had not left, coming from Scott, but he was not behind the call, because he allowed me time earlier. I had my two kids with me, which made it harder. I come down to the lobby with a hotel cart full of stuff. Michael was there. Did not say «Thank you for staying», but, «Are you finished?» I told him almost and that is when he blew up on me, saying that cleaning people need to deep clean the room and get the room ready for other guests or that I would be charged. I litterally peed my pants because of his rudeness, and in front of my kids and any other guests around. I was blown away and eventually told the manager privately how I felt.
Those people there work hard and all Michael looks at is his money. Everyone could accomplish more, if only Michael would give more and respect workers and guests. I trully was and still am discouraged and I throw away any good feeling I had of the place, other than some really helpful workers who cleaned, worked at the front desk and prepared breakfast and the manager Scott.

A perfectly fine hotel, I have no complaints! For $ 75/​night around Christmas, I think this is a pretty good deal! Free parking (though the lot is awkward), free relaible wifi, and free hot breakfast! The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, everything in the bathroom worked fine. I’d be happy to stay here again.
It’s a bit far from downtown, so you’ll probably need a car if you stay here. But it’s fairly close to some of the other fun neighborhoods, like Ballard and Wallingford.

Clean, free parking, free WiFi, cheap. Good service, clean linens and towels, all the basic amenities provided. Thirty minutes away from downtown Seattle.

A couple of friends and I made the trip up to Seattle to see the A’s finish the regular season. Usually I’d stay with my sister but with two extra people, I figured it would be easier for everyone if we just got a hotel.
We also were going to pick up a rental car, so that coupled with the fact that the city was extra pricey that weekend as far as hotels go, had me looking for something outside of Seattle.
I found this hotel online and it was $ 210 total after taxes for a 2 night weekend stay. Plus there was free parking, so it seemed like it would be a good fit for what we were doing.
It’s nearly two miles away from I-​5 and about 15 minutes driving from the hotel to downtown Seattle, if you aren’t driving during weekday commute hours of course.
Our stay here was good. It was clean and our room had two queen sized beds and a pull out couch. According to my friend who slept on it for two nights, it was as uncomfortable as the one from Seinfeld. But then again, are any of those things good? Beats sleeping on the floor or sharing with another dude.
So to recap: Not too far from the city. Free parking. Clean but not fancy. Inexpensive.
It’s unlikely that I’ll ever need to stay in a Seattle-​area hotel again since my sister lives there, but should this situation arise again, I would stay here.

Why are the walls paper thin? Why is the parking lot so small you can’t even get out of your car, let alone even fit in the parking lot with a standard, small sized vehicle? Lol. I stayed in a room and it was so loud in the other room, and I’m sure they were being as quiet as possible. It’s ridiculous. I came here during memorial day weekend… about $ 100 for the night? or was it $ 120? Something like that… ehhh. Not that great of a weekend to come here… but it was needed. The clerk was sweet, helpful and very nice. He was helpful to the utmost extent and was very resourceful.
This 4 story hotel is like a crappy motel… it definitely defines Aurora… haha. The room was clean as much as possible, but it wasn’t dirty, the bed was a nice queen (I believe) that was comfortable. It’s nothing fancy schmancy, but it was decent. I prefer Sea-​Tac hotels for better rooming and details. 100% no smoking but you can smoke whatever you wanted (including MJ, according to the clerk, LOL) outside. I think there was free wi-​fi… but you get what you pay for… ehhh. Their workout room isn’t a workout room lol. No clean water except for one filtered in the workout room… and 1 vending machine room that is creepily on the 2^nd floor lol. Elevators are old and décor is old too. Mehh. Thanks though for good service.

Standard lower end business class place. The rooms are large but need updating. The clerk who checked us in late at night was very friendly and helpful.

We were pleasantly surprised to see the rather large kitchenette. That was nice. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. The free breakfast was actually pretty good. Egg patties, sausage, waffles, bagels, cereal, fruit, juice, coffee and more. The staff was very nice, very helpful and did their jobs well.
Our big complaint was the paper-​thin walls and the creaky ceiling. When anyone walked above us it was really loud and the people talking next door sounded like they were in our room. So when they got up at 6:00 AM, it woke us up too. They put the TV on and it sounded like it was on in our room. And, yes, the water pressure was low but not bad. We didn’t experience any of the bad things others reported. If it wasn’t for the thin walls, we would’ve rated it higher.
