Description

Specialties

Fancy features handmade custom sterling, gold, platinum and palladium jewelry. We make custom pieces to order, using 100% recycled precious metals and repurposed/ethically sourced diamonds and colored gemstones. In addition the storefront represents a curated collection of artists and designers. Unique handmade pieces with a visible sense of style and humor.

History

Established in 2002.

Located in the historic Moore Hotel and Theater building; Fancy began as an outlet for Sally Brock to produce her custom line of jewelry, and share her love of the handmade with the independent art community. Then in 2004, she talked her pal Kristen Rask into opening up next door with Schmancy specializing in artist made toys. Fancy, Schmancy. Next a spot came available up the street, and Pants was born. Then Fancy and Pants moved in together– called Fancy Pants; Schmancy moved into Fancy’s old spot and Nancy opened in the old Schmancy spot. Sally decided to lose her Pants in 2008, and re-designed a much fancier Fancy with the help of local designer Erich Ginder. Fancy is fancier than ever, Shmancy is extra Schmancy these days, and there’s a terrific new Moore Coffee shop in the old Nancy venue. And that’s the legend of Fancy Schmancy Nancy Pants on 2nd Avenue.
