Squire Barber Shop

I’ve been looking for a proper barbershop since I moved to Seattle about a year ago. I tried a few other «barbershops» but they were all either dressed up Supercuts or just a salon with bimbos and scissors. When I walked into Squires and heard The Misfits blasting, I knew that I had found it. Myles gave me a proper cut for a great price. I will definitely be returning.

Time taken on each cut, they’ll work with you for what you want. Prices are fair. It’s a friendly enough environment (maybe not kid friendly? Language and whatever), really nicely laid out, cool décor to keep you distracted. Barbers will chat it up if you want, or they’ll just cut your hair if you stay quiet. Point being if you at coming here for a great cut and shave, that’s what you’re getting.
I used to have super long hair. Went to Gene Juarez and whatever other salon my stylish female friends would point me towards. After getting it cut short I figured I’ll just go to some barber. Found these guys on Unilocal first, then checked out their Instagram, talked a bit on there, next thing you know I’ve got a hair cut from Rachel that I’m very happy with. This is the only place I’ll be going. Driving from Everett, but hell, it’s worth it.

David went out of his way to reach out to rectify the situation around getting an appointment booked. I totally appreciated the follow up and have updated my rating to reflect that.

Owner was v apologetic about the situation. I understand they are going through growing pains as lots of small businesses do. This update is to reflect the quality of work you can get at Squire, which is a fact.

David, the owner, has reached out to me. He offered me a deal to rectify the experience I had.

If you ever call them, they will probably pick it up. Why? because they stop cutting others’ hair to pick up. Haha. I think that was funny to see from the other side. My guy stopped like 2 – 3 times in 30 minutes. It’s not a big deal and I got a private note from the owner that they are implementing an automated system.
I think for $ 27 is worth the price (I would be hesitant if they increased to 30).
I had haircuts for less in other cities, but they were cheap 5-​minute buzz cut that they were always in a hurry and sort of careless (they also offer buzz cut for $ 13).
The barber that did the job on my hair was good and he took like ³⁰⁄₄₀ minutes for a thorough cut. He wasn’t rushing at all (that’s how haircuts were supposed to be). It wasn’t perfect, but it was pretty decent.
Anyway, these guys are new in town, but they like the old school stuff (like 50’s ads on the walls and Alice in Chains songs playing all day). I heard them joking about other customers that complained about the prices. I think that was kind of mean. I’m sure they think they are worth it, but that doesn’t justify. Whatever, maybe the barber was having a bad day.

Dan is the man! For the past six months, I’ve been trusting Acme Barbershop with my hair but I’ve always had issues with the way they cut my hair. I tried this place once after work and I couldn’t have been happier. The atmosphere is chill, Dan was super friendly, the haircut was amazing, and Squire charges $ 2 less than Acme! Will keep coming here.

Made an appointment before coming up. Squire was not far from where I was staying. I was looking pretty ratty and well, since I’m on vacation, might as well take advantage of it and my trip. SBS was highly rated on Unilocal so might as well go with the best.
I arrived just before my my time and Andrew was just getting settled. Asked what I wanted and just told him short and something hip and cool.
She: If you’re looking for something new, hip and cool… you’ve come to the right guy.
Great endorsement from who I believe was his girlfriend. Andrew took his time and we had a great conversation at the same time. The thing I liked the most was that he didn’t face me toward the mirror at all, so when he was done, voila… a new person was looking back at me.
I felt like a new man! So much so, on my way home, I got the flirty hello from the girl at DeLaurenti, and a flirty wink from the guy at the cash register… LOL! I feel any one of the barbers at SBS are great! The vibe is very chill and inviting. I felt sorry for the poor shmucks who were trying to get in before leaving town for Thanksgiving… should’ve made an appointment.

Squire is a no frills barbershop staffed by barbers who clearly take what they do seriously. The atmosphere has a classic old school vibe to it complete with vintage barber chairs. The whole experience from waiting to be seen to the mini vacuums for cleaning your neck is total comfort.
I have gotten two cuts by David to date and couldn’t be happier. I can’t imagine ever needing to go elsewhere in Seattle for a cut. He takes his time with my fade and just nails it. Super clean and sharp.
I’m happy to take the 30 minute bus ride into town passing multiple other shops along the way. Well worth the trip and the $ 27.

Big shout out to Myles Mcgehee and Squire Barbershop. I always feel like a million bucks after I’ve been there. Squire Barbershop and Myles Mcgeehee rock!

This is a no nonsense barber. They cut hair, and they do it well. They moved into this new location which was a great decision. Looks great with the decorations and vintage barber collectibles.
I usualky see Andrew, and he’s great. Recommend that you ask for him.

Are you waiting for the barber of your dreams to blow your fucking mind? Look no further as this shop is packed with some serious talent. Scroll back up and call the number to book an appointment with Andrew. He will change your life — even if you have a few strands of hair that stick up like Homer Simpson. He will turn that shit into a Pablo Picasso masterpiece. Seriously I went from living in the streets and not being able to get a job because of my hair. After meeting Andrew, I’m now the CEO of multiple corporations which has even put me on the Illuminati’s radar. I’ll probably run for the presidency in 2020 as long as Andrew is around to keep my hair looking good.

This place is hands down, the best barber shop I’ve ever been to. I’ve been to several others in my hometown, but these guys know what they are doing.
I had Dan, and he was incredible. I showed him a picture of one of their Instagram posts, and he was able to replicate it with ease. Great attention to detail, and very personable. Showed me the right way to style my hair, and gave me product recommendations as well (didn’t try to sell me anything in the store, just recommended good products).
If you’re looking for a clean, professional haircut, this place is it. Make sure you book an appointment though! They are crazy busy, so it’s best to make an appointment. I booked one for 6pm and Dan took me 20 minutes early, which was awesome.

What an awesome barber shop! I am in the process of getting out of the military as an Army officer and needed something to prepare me for business school. I needed a pro and Rachel, who I believe is the newest addition, gave me exactly what I needed and more. Thanks for a great cut and experience. I’ve definitely found my barber!

If you’re looking to get a haircut by professionals then Squire is the ONLY place you should go. These guys know men’s hair. There’s a reason this place is considered the best in Seattle.
I’ve been going to Dan for about 6 months. He’s always keeping up with the «next look». Always professional, always on time, takes the time to explain to you the best cut for your head shape, and help you figure out what product/​shampoo/​conditioner, if any, to use.
Don’t be scared off by a $ 20.00 haircut. I get my hair cut once every 3 weeks. Truthfully, I could easily go twice that and still look clean cut. That is how clean the cuts here are.
I searched for about 3 months at different shops before Dan cut my hair. Now he’s the only one that will cut my hair. Go to Squire. Ask for Dan. Leave happy.

You can see the attention to detail in every snip! Staff is great, price is great, shop is great. Lots of classic barber themed items on display. A modern run business.

Also parking is easy as there are multiple garages nearby with low rates.

I can’t say enough about how rad this shop is. My son and I visited for a father’s day cut and we’re both thrilled. The shop is spotless, has a nice comfortable waiting area (big couches, plasma tv…) and the staff are great. I have really hard to cut hair (super fine and pin straight, with unpredictable cowlicks) but Andrew handled it with (what seemed like) ease. I got a nice tidy little part style with a tight fade and it looks perfect. My son had some crazy idea for himself (involving steps or some other nonsense) but as soon as he saw my hair finished, his tune changed and he asked for the same cut I got. Also had my eyebrows groomed and a hot shave on my neck line. I’d say «you can’t beat them for the price» but I think it’s more accurate to say this is hands down the best barber shop in Seattle.

Been going here since I moved in 2010 — always a stellar haircut from Bryan. The owner Dave is a great guy and his team all does excellent work. If you want a particular barber, make an appt, because they are always busy. The new location, across the street from NiteLite, is right around the corner from the old one. It’s spacious, good music and comfortable couches while you wait. HIGHLY RECOMMEND you try this place out!
Also, check out reviews from their old place since Unilocal didn’t want to move them with their listing! Only the location changed not the staff!

Just left the shop and I was complemented TWICE on the new cut before I had even made it to the car. I called to make an appointment as it was my first time through the shop. Less than 48 hours later I’m beaming from ear to ear with this sh@! eating grin, all thanks to Myles.
I was anxious to cut my long curly hair, as the last haircut was a disaster. Being almost 6 months since then I was well overdue. Myles not only took the time to listen to what I wanted and reiterate, but also the time to explain what his plan of attack was. I could tell he was busy, yet he made the most of the usual chit chat and didn’t forget my name… It definitely added a personal touch, unlike other chain barber shops.
The shop is very aesthetically pleasing with an eclectic mix of stylings to set a hip, yet relaxed atmosphere. Squire just exudes great vibes all around, from the friendly (insanely talented) barbers, to the wavy music and décor… Not to mention a cut for under $ 30 downtown.
