Wow!!! This place is amazing. Service is exceptional, attentive, thorough, very pleasant and polite. I was so impressed by our waiter. The food is incredible amd fresh. The geoduck butter is divine! The tempura was light, crisp and delicious. Ive never had a fresher tasting shrimp in my life. The soft shell crab was delicate and very tasty. The best Miso soup ive ever has. Everything was so good. For dessert we had strawberry mochi and green tea cheesecake. I hate green tea but this flavor cheesecake was incredible. We’ve been in search of good japanese in Seattle that isnt fusion. This is it and we cant wait to go back. Great price too.

This sushi place is very nice and clean. This was my first time here. The server sat us down pretty quickly and asked us if we need any beverages. The sushi is a bit pricey but if you’re willing to pay, it’s not a bad spot to eat. Presentation of the food was on point, and it was served in a timely manner. The mochiko chicken was descent, the sushi was good. The server was somewhat helpful at times. Overall, 7⁄10 not too bad but not great

Went here this week for some sushi. The restaurant wasn’t crowded at all but service was slow anyway. Miso soup apparently comes out after all the sushi is ready, the tea order had to be put in twice, and apparently sunomono means«bad service». Because we didn’t get sunomono, just bad service. I tipped about 7%, which was about 7% too much. I really just wanted to round up the total. Sushi quality wasn’t great, but much higher than how much attention was paid to our party. My recommendation is Maneki(which was closed that night). I know it’s a bit harsh, and perhaps they were having an off day.

The quality of sushi wasn’t the best. I tried the Fire Cracker Roll, DX Happy Roll, Soft Shell Crab, and Toro. Nothing really impressed me. The fish in the sushi was small compared to other places and the rolls really lacked flavor. The Fire Cracker Roll was advertised as being spicy, but I couldn’t taste any spice to it at all. It was pricey as well. We went here because there was a two hour wait at Maneki. I regret not waiting.

How have I not written a review for Fuji? That seems like madness. I’ve never come for dinner, but I frequent this place for their bento lunch. It’s $ 9.75(extra if you want to add sushi) and you get to pick 2 dishes from their side selection including various fish, katsu, tempura, dumplings, etc. It comes with miso soup, rice, salad, and a few pieces of California roll. It’s delicious and cheap for what you get, and it’s a lot of food. The sushi is quite good and I keep meaning to come back for dinner. The tables are meant for 2 or 4 people, so its not for huge groups, but right now I see a group of 5 where they pushed some tables together, so its not crazy tiny. Highly recommend this place!

I have not been to Tsukushinbo, unfortunately I will not be able to make comparisons. However, I think the quality is there at Fuji. I could smell the seaweed on the tuna rolls before they reached my mouth. The salmon sashimi was fatty and delicious. The tuna was also flavorful. The mackerel was not dull. The udon’ soup was not heavy but it was still delicious. Tempura was great. I would say it’s kinda pricey, but it’s for quality. Not to mention the restaurant looks sleek.

Surprisingly small dinner portions. One friend needed a box since she ate beforehand, but everyone else was still hungry after finishing entrees and appetizers(lol). My katsu udon was very ok, but the chicken was way overcooked. My friend had the agedashi tofu with mushroom sauce though and that was pretty bomb. Boyfriend’s chirashi bowl was half egg though(lol). With so many options nearby, we prob won’t be back.

I’ve been to Fuji Sushi many times in the past, but this is the first time I’m writing a review after going there. The restaurant and service was nice. The food looked great, but some items had flavor that was too strong. The miso soup was very salty. I usually order bento, but this time I ordered beef sukiyaki. It was good, but I might prefer a more subtle flavor with the broth. I feel that the experience depends a lot on the food that you order there.

I ordered Fuji bento(sushi, sashimi, tempura, salad, teriyaki chicken & salmon) and rice. I really liked the prompt service and quality of sashimi. But the flavor of teriyaki and miso soup were too strong for me. :(If I go there again, I’ll just order sashimi and sushi.

Go here when its neighbor Tsukushinbo is full. While Tsukushinbo is the speakeasy sushi joint of Seattle, Fuji Sushi is a much more upscale and classy. Its interior is sleek, modern, with dimmed lighting. For larger parties, they even have a private tatami room that is enclosed by sliding doors. The go-to order is the Fuji Bento, featuring sushi, sashimi, tempura, chicken & salmon teriyaki. The works. For about $ 19, it’s an excellent value for the huge portions you get. Here are some notable thoughts on the actual food: –The miso soup featured a generous portion of fried tofu. –Sushi and sashimi — The fish was largely fresh and delicious. The quality of the salmon is excellent here. Very flavorful with very little fishiness. The tuna sashimi on the other hand was very fibrous. It would have been better served as a tuna roll or sushi. The cut wasn’t worthy enough to be stand-alone sashimi. The California roll was excellent, something that I rarely say about California rolls. The sushi/rice ratio was perfect; Fuji Sushi seems to use less rice per piece of fish than other Japanese restaurants around the area, which is a welcome factor. –Chicken teriyaki — well flavored, but it was rather dry on the inside. –Salmon teriyaki — the best part of the meal. The salmon was well sauced and came apart easily with a fork in flakes. It was moist and delicious. The skin was crispy and peeled off in one piece. We were served by a chirpy, upbeat waitress and the food was brought out promptly. Despite a few inconsistencies, Fuji Sushi is an overall excellent Japanese restaurant in International District. Strong 3 to a Light 4

This is one of the very few Japanese places I’ve ever been to that offers Dinner Bento Boxes!!! I was so happy to see that on the menu so of course, I got a Bento Box for dinner. Prices are very fair and they come with California Rolls. You can choose two sides, so I chose Teriyaki Salmon and Chicken Katsu. The Box is very well-portioned and well balanced. Service was great too!

Seated quickly and received food fast as well. Waitress forgot to give us silverware, but remedied the situation. Food was good but nothing to tell the neighbors about.

Came here like most people, because Maneki and Tsukushinbo were full and it was the closest place within walking distance. The intimate setting was great although not quiet, you have to rely on your neighbors to keep an inside voice and we weren’t lucky there. The service and staff were attentive and great. Here’s where it fell short. The food. Ordered two appetizers, one did not come out until the end of the meal and it was overcooked. This can be overlooked, it’s just appetizers. The sushi. Ordered two of the sushi special which included 7 combination nigiri and a tuna roll. The nigiri may have been some of the worst I’ve had in a very long time. Think conveyer belt quality. There is less people and more seats in this Restaraunt in comparison to Maneki for a reason. Needless to say it was a let down for me but if you’re just looking to get full and not have an experience or eat quality, well-made food, this is your place.

Overall one the best Japanese restaurants in the International District. The customer service here is great, the food is always spot on, and the atmosphere is always very friendly. The location is close to the stadiums, Chinatown, and pioneer square so it’s convenient for any trip down in the area if you’re craving rest Japanese food! The bento box special is the best deal around and you always leave feeling so stuffed and even have leftovers for the next day. I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re in town for the night or want great Japanese food!

Good sushi joint doing all the classics well. They serve dinner combos btw of bentos that are of excellent quality and value. Sashimi was aged perfectly and served at good, room temp. Service was good and the beer cold. Good place for a sit down sushi dinner with family. Four stars.

This is my Option B or C when I’m with a group, because the heavy-hitters like Maneki and Tsukushinbo are overcrowded with long waits, and this is an authentic Japanese restaurant within walking distance. The food is very good, we all enjoyed sharing the chicken karaage(juicy, flavorful dark meat) and I wolfed down the $ 19 chirashi bowl which filled me up but was not quite as good as Musashi’s. I’m curious to try their $ 5.50(!) chawan mushi next time. The décor is clean and kept, modern, but dullishly flat. There’s nothing really exciting about this place. I appreciated the front hostess who ended up taking our order because our waitress was too busy. In the end I hope that she got our table’s tip because she even had to get our chopsticks and napkins which our assigned server neglected to come back and check on.

We went in on a Friday around 8:30, and the place wasn’t too packed which worked out for us since we were starving. The waiter was aware of this and quickly brought out the simple things — edamame and miso soup — to hold us over until our meals(mix of sashimi and rolls). The miso soup was very salty. Good thing it came with the meal! The rolls and sashimi itself were yummy and the portions were average. Overall the place is a good spot!

I was looking for a good Japanese restaurant. Based on the recommendations of friends I took a chance and could not be happier. The location is rather small, but is perfect for the number of staff they have. Luckily I came as a party of two and was seated right away. Larger groups may take a little longer due to the adjustment of tables based on group size(not too sure if calling ahead will make a difference). If you’re a hungry person like me I would suggest the Curry Katsu. I also had the Tempura Udon and a Spicy Tuna roll. My partner in food got a few pieces of Fatty Tuna Sushi and the Katsu Don. Food tasted great and was rather affordable. If you want good Japanese style food go here!
