H&R Block

Don’t go here! They told me that I won the door prize of filing my taxes for free, yet still charged me over $ 300. When I received my taxes & saw that the fee wasn’t waved, I immediately spoke with them and was told they’d fix the issue & reimburse me the money. I never received a refund, even after speaking with the manager of this location, that also promised me a refund, it NEVER happened! So I started going into the office, the manager was never there, they’d give me some run around & a corporate number to call, in which the issue still wasn’t resolved. I just gave up & never used h&r block again.

Went here to ask some questions about how to re file my taxes from 2013, and the lady I talked to had absolutely no idea how to do it. I would think someone who works at a tax filing company would know how to find a solution to that. Although she was very nice, I just wanted to leave.

Can’t say anybody enjoys taxes but this year I decided to file with H&R Block and had a great first experience. Was able to make a next day appointment (right before the deadline) and the person who answered the phone (David) was quite friendly and helpful.
The office space is modest but clean and pleasant, easy parking in the parking lot. Address says Lake City but the entrance is actually on the backside of the building. Appointment started right on time and my tax professional (Aijay) was patient with all my noob tax questions. Also got a refund when I thought I was going to have to owe taxes, so that was a nice surprise.
Wifi here is pretty slow, so try to have everything printed out or pulled up in a browser window before you get there. Other than that, no complaints. Everyone I saw or overheard seemed nice and professional, and fees seemed reasonable, so I will probably be back again next year :)
