No more dealing with having to find dirty, old cardboard boxes in dumpsters or paying a fortune for new ones! Using karmaboxx not only relieves stress out of your move but it’s also good for the environment.

Karmaboxxes are made from recycled materials and are reused hundreds of times. When replacement is needed, plastic totes use 39% less energy to recycle, represent 95% less solid waste, and result in 29% fewer Green House Gas emissions. Compare that to cardboard: cardboard represents 18% of landfill waste and methane produced by recycling cardboard results in 95% higher Green House Gas emissions.

History

Established in 2009.

Karmaboxx is the brainchild of two young brothers in Seattle who wanted to start a business and make a difference. Refusing to believe that business is about making money and nonprofits and government agencies exist to support our communities, karmaboxx was started with the fundamental belief that both objectives can be reached in one model. That is to say, we believe in a model where profits and purpose can coexist. We’ve spent as many late nights over coffee as we have late afternoons over beers, and this is what we’ve come up with.

At karmaboxx we are committed to donating a minimum of 2% of gross sales (more than twice what most companies donate to philanthropic causes) right back into our Seattle community. So whether you have used our service or not, we want you to tell us which charities we should support. Email us and cast your vote! Closed? It appears this business has closed. The website no longer accepts orders, emails to the «info@» email address go unanswered, and the phone number does not appear to work. We’ve used them for our last 3 moves so I’m not sure where they went wrong. What a shame.

After looking at multiple reusable plastic moving box companies, I decided to give Karmaboxx a chance. After many attempts to contact them and get information, I have officially given up. The phone number on the Unilocal page is wrong and the website phone is disconnected. Website links also lead to nowhere, in case anyone is thinking of trying to get an estimate. If you have to work this hard to give business, then it demonstrates that this company is not interested in customers.
I gave my business to Ezbinz which has been extremely responsive and has a Unilocal coupon promo right now. Initially, I was afraid that there weren’t any reviews but the owners have made up for those insecurities so far. Now to packing!

Karmaboxx made my move incredibly easy! They dropped off the boxes at my old place and picked them up as scheduled a week later. The man who picked up the boxes was extremely friendly and helpful. I will be spreading the word to all of my family and friends about this great company, and I will never be using cardboard boxes again!

Karmboxxs made our move go super smooth. The boxes were a good size and easy to load and unload. The only caution is not to load too many heavy items in one box. The garment boxes made moving our clothes a snap.
We had some overlap where we had both our old house and our new. We were able to load, unload, and reuse some of the boxes while getting read for the big moving day.
The movers liked the boxes since they are a consistent size and made their job easier, which means moving goes more quickly, which means it costs less.

I used Karmaboxx August 22 – 29 2013 to move our 2-​bedroom apartment. The crates were delivered on time, and picked up ahead of schedule per my request (and with just two days notice). The boxes were clean, though some labels from previous users were still present.
Rob, the delivery driver, was courteous, calling us when he was delayed by a couple hours picking up the boxes (traffic had been horrible that day).
My only concerns about this company are that 1) they don’t respond quickly to email or phone calls and 2) it appears they have no «office» staff — thus the slowish responses.
Rob mentioned that «he’s basically running the company», and running it by himself, as the delivery driver, is way too much to ask. And it shows when it comes to communication with their clients.
I like their Web site overall, but there’s no way to amend anything in your order online — you have to call and hope you get someone on the phone.
In the end, Karmaboxx performed as promised.
They just need to add at least a part-​time office person.

I have to agree with Mike B. — what a terrible company to try to do business with. I placed an order on July 14. A few days later, I realized that I needed to move the delivery and pickup date. I emailed; I left several messages on their voice mail and only once (3 days later), when I threatened to cancel my order if they didn’t say that they’d make a change to the delivery date, did I get an email reply. They said that they’d put the change in their delivery system. Then, I asked for a new receipt, showing that the change had been made. However, not a peep. Not a single reply to this simple, simple request.
In this day and age, I can’t imagine how a business can survive if they don’t communicate with their customers. That said, for the simple peace of mind, I’d recommend taking your business elsewhere.

Just used Karmaboxx. It was a pretty straightforward process. The drop-​off driver was friendly. The boxes were clean. Forgot our zip-​ties, but that was a pretty minor thing. One thing: order more than you think you’ll need – especially if you have kids. Those boxes fill up fast. Their bedroom to boxes metric leans toward the ascetic. (or maybe it’s just the Universe telling me I have too much cr*p). At any rate, they picked up our boxes on the specified pickup date. We stowed them in the garage until then. It proved especially convenient, as we moved into a house and therefore don’t have a big garbage/​recycling dumpster for getting rid of boxes that might be found in an apartment building or condo. Will definitely use Karmaboxx again.
They’re a relatively new company with a great concept, and I hope to see them refine their system, expand their service and thrive. The guy who picked up our boxes was their brand new COO. Because of a scheduling mix-​up, he was out picking up the slack by doing pickups himself with his Dooley. My overall impression was that they hired the right guy for the job, and I suspect Karmaboxx may become the new standard for moving. A company like Uhaul would be smart to buy them out and integrate the concept with their own business model.

TL;DR: The boxes are good, the company is terrible.
I wouldn’t recommend Karmaboxx at all. While the boxes showed up a little late to our apartment, they were great for moving. Plastic bins totally beat cardboard in terms of durability, ease of use, and environmental friendliness.
However, you can get that from other companies as well. Karmaboxx’s phone number goes to a full voice mail box which they don’t check. If you encounter a problem, you’re screwed. I took the morning off of work to wait for the scheduled pick up between 9:00 and 12:00 and the driver never showed up. Karmaboxx couldn’t be reached. Luckily the driver called us (at the wrong number) and we arranged a pick up for the next day, which he was also sadly late to.
Since there is no customer service, and since moving can be incredibly stressful, please use a service that makes itself available to customers and has its shit together. Otherwise you’ll be hanging on to tons of boxes in your apartment much longer than you’d like.

I would do karmaboxx again. Really easy to pack, and they are very strong. You can stack them pretty high so it allows you to organize while moving. The company was great. It is was worth the money. We even had an offer of free boxes from a friend and I am still glad I spent the money.

No-​brainer to use Karmaboxx for your next move, we just did and here’s why you should too:
1. Paid for itself — came in 2 hours under movers’ time estimate.
2. Saved ourselves time packing, so much easier than cardboard boxes. Plus they’re heavy duty, but still very stackable (all the way to the roof of the truck) so you don’t have to worry about contents getting crushed. Our movers couldn’t believe everything fit in one load.
3. Friendly, local employees. Dropoff and pickup of boxes was easy and efficient.

Karmaboxx is rad! I’m glad to see an affordable, greener option out there for moving.
I ordered a bunch of these for my company as some of us were moving to another floor. Unfortunately they were having some trouble with the website and I was charged several times since I kept trying to place an order (my fault I didn’t stop after the first time and check on it). I am not docking them a star for this because poop happens, and they refunded me the extra charges.
The boxes stack easily and we were able to borrow a few rolly cart things (the technical term, of course) to make moving them around easier.
Adam is a nice fella and dropped off/​picked up the boxes on time. We will definitely use Karmaboxx should we need to move again (I shudder at the thought).

Everything that everyone else said.
It’s easy to get free cardboard boxes, and once you’ve done this, you’ll quickly realize that paying for Karmaboxxes is far more practical for packing/​loading/​unloading and protecting your goods. We moved 7 months ago using the cardboard box method and it was far more complicated and resulted in some broken things. This time around, we did it in a 1⁄3 of the time and everything was moved without an issue.
All of our friends that helped us move said they would be using Karmaboxxes the next time they more. Not to mention, Adam was incredibly helpful in making this move as simple as possible. Thanks!

What a great service. I’m glad Eliminate Chaos suggested we use them. Yes, I was a little skeptical at first and thought it’d make more sense to get cardboard at U-​Haul, but it really was convenient to have these rugged, stackable plastic boxes delivered to our apartment and picked up from our new house. I would certainly consider using these again the next time we move, which hopefully won’t be for a while, and I would certainly recommend these to any of my friends who are planning a move themselves.

OK, even though it has all been said in the previous 27 five-​star reviews, I’ll still add my commentary. This service is priceless if only for the fact that it got my husband to…[wait for it]…ADMIT THAT I AM RIGHT!
Even though at first he thought that the $ 200 we spent wasn’t warranted («Do you know how many free boxes I can get at work?!») When time came for him and his buddies to load up the trucks, he realized what an advantage it was to have heavy-​duty, stackable, and uniformly-​sized containers! Tetris is a helluvalot easier to win when all the shapes are squares.
In addition to the geometric and structural advantages, the service is downright awesome. Teddy, the hard-​working delivery guy, was gracious, calling me on the day of drop off and pickup with ETAs that were pretty spot-​on despite the unpredictability of summer Seattle traffic.
All the other virtues (and there are many) are extolled below. I can’t recommend Karmaboxx enough to you and yours. Although moving is a hateful experience, this company can preserve some precious sanity for you at the time you will need it the most!

This was an awesome experience. They showed up when they said they would, and it really took some of the pressure off of an already stressful situation. I had a three bedroom house with a basement. I used their package deal for a 2 bedroom house + the ‘medium’ combo pack. When they dropped off the boxes I thought I had gotten way too much, but it turned out we were about 4 boxes short. TRUST their packages! If I had gone with 3 bedrooms, it would have been perfect.
I definitely recommend using these guys.

these blue boxes saved my move. my roommate was working on his English PhD so we had a lot of books … too many for any sane household. Due to the sheer insanity of the books, I was dreading our recent move from Queen Anne to Eastlake. Lucky for me I saw the living social deal for Karmabox and signed on.
The boxes are like the amazon fresh grocery boxes — they are hard plastic, super sturdy, close without tape, require no assemble and stack really well (both when empty and full). Our movers couldn’t stop commenting on how cool they were, so you know they appreciate them too. Even better was that after we got unpacked faster than expected, we called up the guys at Karmabox to see about changing our pick-​up day, and they came the next morning to get the boxes out of our hair.
The guys delivering the boxes are super friendly. the company seems to have a great ethic, and the boxes make packing and unpacking as painless as possible. I will never move without these again.

Karmaboxx is a great moving company to work with! The eco-​friendly boxes were dropped off at my door, and when I was finished they were picked up.
When you’re moving, the last thing you want to worry about is finding boxes, lugging them around and then assembling them. This moving company eliminated all of that.
Karmaboxx is good old-​fashioned customer service with a modern commitment to the environment and 2% of their proceeds going to local charities! Can’t beat that!
