Michael F Tomberg, MD

Dr. Tomberg was highly recommended by a lot of my co-​workers when I was looking for a PCP some 5 – 6 years ago. I wasn’t so sure about going with him since I’ve never had a male PCP before, much less one who would also basically be my OB/​GYN. For his popularity, I was surprised to get an appointment with him quickly and easily. I’m glad I listed to the recommendations. Dr. Tomberg is an awesome doctor. He’s very nice, very patient, and very comfortable to have as a PCP. I’ve never been happier with any other doctor I’ve had, and I’m quite at a loss as to what to do when he leaves the Polyclinic. I’m tempted to follow him to his clinic out at Bainbridge… but, keeping things real, I’m probably going to have to say goodbye. and wish him all the best for the future.

My search for a primary care physician led me to Dr Tomberg, albeit initially as a result of the other top Seattle docs (according to Seattle Magazine anyway) no longer accepting new patients. But I’m glad things turned out the way they did, because for one, all the other doctors were female, and for another, Dr Tomberg is pretty awesome. I got scheduled in relatively quickly (I had to wait on the order of three months back with my PCP in the Bay Area), within about a month of when I called, and the wait for the doc wasn’t too horrible either when physical day came around.
Sociable and friendly doc who didn’t seem to be rushing through patients, and took the time to answer the numerous questions I had. I also appreciated that he took extra steps to see if he could do anything about things like my occasional heartburn, and even humored me with my request to get weighed (being in a wheelchair, I haven’t gotten weighed in about eight years, but he actually lifted me up onto a scale to weigh me — major points for doing that).

I have been a patient of Dr. Tomberg’s for seven years and I couldn’t be happier with him as my Doctor. He is very patient with my questions, sincerely cares about my health and well being and makes any visit easy and quick. I always feel well taken care of when I leave.
I always suggest him to everyone who is looking for a doctor.
The staff at the Poloyclinic is generally helpful and polite. I’ve had a couple impatient and almost rude lab technicians when taking my blood (they always act too busy to be bothered) but Dr. Tomberg’s care always makes up for it.

Doc doc! I’ve only had to meet with him once, but I felt very much taken care of. At no point did I feel like he was trying to rush though my visit or that he was passing me off to his nurses/​assistants.

After years of going to the Swedish Family Medical Clinic with it’s rotating cast of Doctors, I was looking for a Doctor who could be my Primary Care Physician. After looking and looking for some guidance I found the Unilocal reviews of Dr. Tomberg and they have proved to be absolutely spot on.
My visits with Dr. Tomberg have been both substantive (not the HMO 15 min turn and burn) and informative. He clear explains both the situation and the proposed treatment.
His support staff are responsive and friendly and for folks working downtown the Polyclinic location is very convenient.
