Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar

Don’t be fooled, this is THE greatest place on planet earth. An immense variety of rare guitars you’ve always wanted to play, met with an incredibly genuine staff. I just needed to pick up a pack of strings and I ended up spending an hour and a half geeking out over guitars and learning about how a tiny garage filled with a couple guitars blossomed into what it is today (the greatest place on planet earth). If you love vintage guitars and amps (who doesn’t) don’t hesitate to pay these guys a visit.

Bought a guitar from M&Mike’s recently. Super pleased with everyone I dealt with buying and shipping this guitar to Chicago. I was a bit paranoid but their reputation was excellent, the guitar was the one I’d been looking for and the price was fair.
A couple hiccups along the way as I was very careful and concerned about getting ripped off but they answered all my questions from beginning to end accurately in a friendly fashion. Their exact description of the problems I was concerned about were dismissed when my local guitar guy confirmed exactly what Mike’s explained to me.

My 15 year old son told me about Mike & Mike’s so we went and checked it out. A bit of a strange location, but once we got inside it was totally worth it. They had some amazing equipment for sale, but we were there to see about putting my son’s guitar for sale using their reach both locally, nationally and internationally. We had lots of credible choices/​guitar shops that wanted to sell my sons cool lap guitar, but we both liked Mike & Mike and their presence on social media was by far the best! We put the guitar up for sale and a couple weeks later we got an offer that far exceeded our expectations. We made a $ 2000 profit from our business deal with Mike & Mike!
My son and I highly recommend this place. These guys know music, they understand business, and they are genuinely good guys who care about their customers.

This is how every guitar shop should be! The repair bench is one of the best in the city, the prices are fair, the guitar and amp selection is cool with a great vintage selection, and the service is great. I took some stuff I wasn’t needing anymore and traded it in for my dream tele and am super happy about it.

I don’t know anything about guitars and I could have been an easy mark. I’m glad I found this shop as I was given incredible customer service: I dropped by to have a Fender Strat looked at as it was not working, and was in and out within 15 minutes with a working guitar and new strings. The price was very cheap and the service was with a smile. I cannot recommend these guys enough! They obviously care about customer service and do it all within a very cool space. Highly recommended.

First thing — the shop is in the garage of the house — a little confusing to find.
These gents are amazing. Very welcoming and knowledgeable. I had an old acoustic guitar that I wanted to clean up, but know nothing about guitars. That said, I know a lot about customer service — Mike strung it up and though it was unsalvageable, I walked away feeling well taken care of and they didn’t charge a penny to look at it.
I have three more guitars and will definitely be going back!

Also, they can repair or modify any gear you have and do it carefully and with skill!
On top of all that is the fact that they are nice, normal people who care about and like what they are doing!!!

Ok, we seriously love these guys! They are literally the most kind and helpful people on Earth (literally). We bought a Rhodes Seventy-​three here, which Mike B. made beautiful for us. After taking it home, the action was a little bit stiff, so he fixed it up for us and made that beautiful too! They are so knowledgable and the sweetest guys you’ll meet!

Don’t be swayed by the fact you have to enter this place through the garage door of a private home. This North end Ballard gem is the place you want to bring your broken gear, a six pack of beer, three credit cards, in autobiography of Hunter S Thompson and a pack of chewing gum for the ride home so that your wife suspects nothing. All in all, Quality vintage gear and good banter. The only thing they’re missing is a liquor license. It has the Nails seal of approval! Now go!

Mike and Mike are rad. They have really great eyes for great gear and will work with you to find you the right guitar. They have an affinity for Fender offset guitars– which I love too. Great guys to deal with– so deal with it… or them rather.
