It is my mission to guide students of all ages in a joyful exploration of music through personalized and innovative piano instruction. Lessons are tailored to fit your interests and have a strong emphasis on physical comfort, theory and note-​reading. Recreational playing is a great option for adults looking for a new hobby, and adults can choose the styles they enjoy, the challenge level and allow their curiosity to guide them in their musical studies. Students of all ages can expect to be presented with a program that will allow them to achieve their musical goals, whether that is preparing for a college audition or learning their favorite song!

History

Established in 2009.

Katie began teaching and accompanying in the Bellingham community following her graduation from Western Washington University. She has studied piano for over 20 years. In 2014 Katie relocated and started a piano studio in the Madison Valley Neighborhood of Seattle.

Katie is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music and has a B.M. in Piano Performance from Western Washington University, where she studied piano with Milica Jovanovic and Jeffrey Gilliam. She has an additional 5 years of private study with Jeffrey Gilliam with an emphasis on playing mechanics and technique. Katie served as pianist for the Whatcom Symphony Orchestra, and collaborated with groups such as Skagit Opera, Whatcom Wind Ensemble and Bellingham Chamber Orchestra. She was recently accepted by audition as a performing member of the Ladies Musical Club of Seattle and will serve as V. P of Membership on the board of the Seattle Music Teachers Association.
