Rafael Carrabba Violins

I feel it an honor and a privilege to be one of the first people to review Rafael Carrabba’s shop in Seattle!
I came to Seattle for about a week and needed urgently a cello for my time here, after calling colleagues and various shops around town everyone directed me to Rafael Carrabba. I called and easily made an appointment to see him the next day.
When I arrived, Rafael treated me like a king. He let me play and later loan out an extremely fine instrument having basically just met me and not knowing much about me.
He dedicated a lot of his time to me, I felt like part of the family in the shop. Got to meet all of his colleagues who are all serious pros. We spent a lot of time together working on one of his cellos, very interesting to learn about how he adjusts instruments! Although my knowledge of what goes on inside the cello is only that of a player and I couldn’t phrase what I wanted as clearly as I would like, Rafel was very patient and understood me perfectly!
I’ve been to some of the best shops all over the world, and Rafael really stands out as one of the very best.
Besides the high level of professionalism in this shop, its just a great place to spend time. These are great people, who I’d love to hang out with outside of any work.

I know my violin is left in good hands, here. The polishing is done well — until the violin is glistening under the light, giving off a beautiful brown-​orange glow; beautiful sounds and a beautiful appearance.
Rosin needs? A good selection of various rosins. Any of which could make the hairs of your bow happy; easy on the rosin.
Parking can be tricky for those unaccustomed to street and parallel parking. What is nice about the location is that it is conveniently next to Top Pot (doughnuts) and Molly Moon’s (ice cream). Feeling some sweets after/​before arriving? The location has you covered.
Appraisal doesn’t take too long. About 10 minutes. The cost was $ 75. Afterward, an email can be sent — detailing the value of the instrument — and a hard copy will be sent via post.
