Ruby Massage And Skin Care

It’s been quite a while since I went to Gina at Ruby Massage, but in that time I’ve sent many there to fill in the time I’d otherwise be taking. If you find your shoulders inched up to your ears, have appetite swings or any of a hundred other signs you’re stressed, my first prescription is for this… THAT SAID, she was upfront and honest about her limitations&recommended I NOT use her services if I-​likewise you-​need really deep tissue work for a big chunk of the session… or you have deep scar tissue making some rather normal motions simply impossible to execute… which proved the case with me-​turns out I needed six months of spending two hours a week in PT, after which my insurance balked because too much got way too injured for me to only need one or two areas treated in a year, to really restore an extreme deficit of range of motion in my tiny left shoulder, which bore my upper body weight times whatever gravity times forty feet amounted to! If THAT is going on, I’ll gladly recommend you to THE greatest physical therapist in this state. (I can’t say where she is since I’m hoping that changes-​thanks to connections and particularly a doctor who knows she defied the claim of a reputable shoulder surgeon who said it can’t be helped… HR at *competing system I prefer* cold called my magical PT exactly six days from her card leaving my hand-​on said card I changed her license to RSPT-​Rock Star Physical Therapist-​in case anyone who knows me reads this) to hopefully drag her away, give her a more challenging rewarding job and pay her at least half of what she’s worth… so don’t think I’m not fierce about my recommendations (and getting the best people working with the other bests, too)!
Back to Gina/​Ruby Massage. Ultimately I needed the manipulation of potential dagger fingers, a different kind of now-​doctoral-​degree-​requiring expertise, and more critically some machines that-​political garbage begone already!-only PTs can really get away with using since good old medical codes have pigeonholed all ultrasound heat-​the stuff that actually got my shoulder workable without actual daggers-​is counted as PT so docs avoid it and chiros are-​in Washington not everywhere just so I’m clear!-NOT ALLOWED to use them despite the fact that I could throw down money and just buy my own machine for about five visits’ charges before adjustments (20 after insurance makes it all logical)…
I needed something different-​crunch 14 vertebrae and get left with scars, grafts, transfusions, and WAY MORE titanium than should be survivable and you don’t GET to exactly «relax”-but she deserves every single star. She knows her stuff, including her style and limits, and where she DID use deeper techniques she dug some knots right out. She’s just not a self-​targeting job-​killer… Almost no one (except Christy Barnes in freaking Tacoma) could dare spend 90minutes really getting deep enough, and hot stones can’t heal scars that go several inches deep behind thick bone. Gina is still fantastic at what she does and will make *fully human* bodies feel giddy-​even I wobbled out like a drunk at Octoberest. Let her melt your (non-​metal-​maligned) body like a pool of coconut oil taken from a fridge and put right under the sun.

Gina gives the best massages in the world. What more is there to say?

In a word, glorious! As a photographer, I am on my feet for 10+ hours, and wedding season was quickly working its way into my feet and back. Gina spent a good amount of time working the knots out of my upper back and it was wonderful. I so appreciated the time she spent on my feet, forearms and wrists, and feel totally recharged. I love the way my skin feels after the facial and I could have laid there all day long while she rubbed my scalp! Ah. Loved the space — a modest room nestled among other small Seattle businesses, complete with a soothing yet funky/​artsy vibe. Way better than any cookie-​cutter massage/​spa I’ve been to before! Gina is enthusiastic and passionate and made everything delightful. Thank you, thank you! Can’t wait to come back again :)

I started out going to Gina just for massages, which are awesome and sometimes I want to cry because I just feel so much better after them, but recently started getting some of the aesthetic treatments as well. I was having nasty back break-​outs, so I got a back facial. BEST THING EVER. I can’t recommend it highly enough. It’s basically a really thorough massage that smells great and ends with your back looking fantastic. Seriously, even my honey noticed how good my back looked and commented on it without me saying anything. It’s a total treat and I’m booked for another one right before my wedding. Sometimes she uses hot stones during massage, which feel amazing; they just melt the tension right out of my muscles. Back facials are officially my favorite thing and if you are at all interested you should definitely try one.
I also finally decided to get my bushy and fast-​growing eyebrows some professional help. My skin tends to be really sensitive to things like waxing, cosmetics, basically any chemicals (which was another great thing about the back facial – zero allergic reaction), so I was very pleasantly surprised: she does a special hard wax that doesn’t irritate my skin at all. I can’t use 90% of shampoos on the market because I start turning red and itching, I can’t do eyeshadow or lipstick (itchy lips: not hot), foundation is a disaster, I get ingrown hairs at the drop of a hat, I have a long history with eczema, and yet my face is happy as can be after eyebrow waxing. Her technique is great – I hardly notice it, and I’m a huge wuss. Plus she helps shape my ridiculous eyebrow-​cowlicks with trimming. Consider me hooked.
I also was interested in doing eyelash extensions for my wedding. Since my skin is sensitive, she actually did a test of the adhesive for me so we could find out whether it would work for me. Did I also mention she’ll send e-​mail confirmations so I don’t forget the appointments? And that she remembers things that work and don’t work for me? And that she checks in about pretty much every aspect of the experience so you’re never uncomfortable? And that she’s very fair about charges if the session gets cut short because of her schedule? She’s thoughtful, and it’s wonderful.
Today I finally tried a face facial. Since my back handled it so well, I figured I’d take the risk. And you know what? It was fantastic. My skin feels great and looks great. She really tailors the facials to what your skin needs. And it’s a treat for the senses, as well, from the great smells of the products to the warm puffs of steam to the massage components, and even the music in the background is soothing. I can’t even convey how relaxing it is. I’m a pretty high-​strung person and my massages/​facials/​etc. with Gina are always a huge bright spot in my week, because I know from the minute I walk in it’s going to be good.
The only downside is when I try to chat afterwards I’m always so blissed-​out I just babble! Also, pro tip, if you go on a Sunday you can hit up the Ballard farmer’s market before or after and there is some good stuff there for the eating and drinking. If you have a specific schedule in mind, book out two appointments in advance or you’re going to find yourself waiting longer than you want to between appointments. She’s in demand, but she’s worth waiting for!

The sapphire package was amazing… Gina is wonderful and the facial was worth every penny! She uses great, organic products and her space is very warm and inviting. The best part for me was the absence of the big spa feel… you are the only person in the room, so no need to check in at the front desk, worry about putting your belongings in a separate locker, etc. It’s just you and Gina and she makes every effort to customize your experience to your needs.

My husband decided to treat me to a massage and I made an appointment with Gina. What a wonderful place this is! Gina was very sweet, professional, and caring. One of the best massages I’ve ever experienced. The room was cozy and comfortable. Hoping to get a hot stone massage next time, and there will definitely be a next time.

For my birthday, the hubby got me a 90 minute massage and 60 minute facial. I have only gotten a massage before and was not impressed at all, so I was curious how this would go.
Okay, so first — we did the whole pre-​massage-​low-​down of what I’m looking for and general background. Gina was completely open and upfront about the whole process and the products she uses (I have a little skin sensitivity).
The massage was fan-​freaking-​tastic. It was like she could read my mind! She would keep working in spots where I was most sore and totally focused on the areas I wanted. Gold-​star earned.
Then I’m getting my first facial ever and totally loving every minute of it. I’m beyond relaxed since I just had my awesome massage and then I hear it…

We aren’t close friends, so I’ll just have to tell you. I moan in my sleep. Ask my friends, it’s totally awesome. Anyway, I fell asleep during the facial *TWICE*. It’s okay though, I’m sure she was laughing about it the whole time (on the inside, of course, because she is super-​duper professional and sweet like that).
So I’m sure I’ve convinced you to go spend your money at this amazing place, but now I want to use The Force or whatever to erase your memory so she doesn’t get so crazy busy I can’t get an appointment.
But seriously, you should go here…

It would be a crime to give any less than five stars. My boyfriend gave me a gift certificate to Ruby Massage and I was so impressed by Gina. She’s attentive, professional, mellow, etc. I went in for a massage, and she made me feel very comfortable and respected; and she’s over all just great at what she does.

Amazing! I went in for a 75 minute facial and 75 minute massage + brow wax. Everything was superb! Super cute space, great product line, and Gina is super sweet! I left feeling like a new person. Can’t wait to visit again!

Today was my wife’s birthday and we had a lunch planned up the street from this spa. I found Gina on Unilocal and booked a massage appointment for my sweetie based on Gina’s Unilocal reviews. Boy am I happy I did!
We had our lunch and then showed up for the massage appointment. This was all a surprise for my wife, and she recently hurt her foot so she was nervous about a massage when she figured out what the surprise was, so I asked Gina if she could do a facial on my wife instead. Gina didn’t bat an eyelash and said that would be no problem. I went and hung out in the car and let them do their girl thing. When my wife came out she was smiling from ear to ear. She said her skin felt soooo good and she was thoroughly pleased with Gina’s services. Gina is also very nice and has great customer service skills.
We would definitely recommend Gina and if she reads this… THANK YOU!

I had a great experience at Ruby’s with Gina. I was treated to a give certificate from an over seas friend and chose to get a facial. Gina was calming and gave a fantastic facial. The products used smell and feel great. The atmosphere was simple and perfect. I will definitely go back and recommend Ruby Massage and Skin Care!

Gina is amazing! I used to see her for relaxation massage off and on, then last summer I was rear-​ended and saw her for whiplash related massage treatment. After 6 sessions, my shoulder was soooo much better. She’s genuine, intuitive and very skilled. I live in Shoreline, but she’s totally worth the drive. Her space if super cute and she makes it really comfy too. If you’re looking for a massage practitioner, Gina is the best!

Gina is uh-​may-​zing. I’ve gone to her for facials and massages, and my husband gets massages from her, as well. Her product line smells divine and feels luxurious, and her touch is perfect.
Despite working having an employee discount at the spa I work at, I still gladly pay for services with Gina. Her experience is evident in her technique, and she is knowledgable with her skincare and products.
Her space is inviting, and she is just super cool. Her prices are reasonable, too!

Wow! The best facial I’ve had, truly. (I have sampled quite a few through the years.) Great technqiue, products, and wonderful demeanor. Love the atmosphere and can’t wait to return.

I cannot express how wonderful I feel Ruby Massage and Skin Care is. Gina goes above and beyond in all of her services to make sure you are comfortable and satisfied.
I have used Ruby for a massage — in an hour I was transported to relaxation. All my stress was whipped away. She gave me some aromas to choose from as well to complete the relaxation mood. As I was leaving she even gave me some tips on stretching to reduce the stress build up.
I have also received a facial. Gina took the time to see what my normal cleansing routine was. Analyzed my skin and went over each and every step she proceeded with. As the facial went on she massaged my scalp, arms and hands… wonderful. And my skin looked fantastic when she was done.
I have even had Gina wax my brows– excellent job! Took her time with them and didn’t rush on them.
Besides offering excellent service, Gina is very personable. She remembered I moved here from Phoenix and on my last visit said she was thinking of me when she saw the recent dust storms roll through there. I love going to Ruby, but secretly hope not too many people learn about it… I want to always be able to get in for my appointments when needed. Is that bad?!?

I went to Ruby Massage because she had wonderful ratings on Unilocal and I was not disappointed. She is fantastic, completely knows how to read your body, listens well and asks questions at all the right times. Her space is cozy, warm and inviting. Her deep knowledge, intuitiveness and caring nature make you trust her with your body and relax quickly.
To give you an idea, I am on a tight budget and unfortunately she is no longer able to take my insurance. I have a chronic back issue and she made such a difference right away. So I will continue to go back to her, and instead give up some other expense in my life, because she is that good.

To be honest, I almost don’t want to write this review because I want to keep Ruby Massage a secret for myself!
Gina is fantastic. I have been injured for nearly 3 months now, and after only 2 appointments I have healed almost 95%. I truly shocked.

At 33 years old I had never had a professional massage. Many factors add to this, but I will refrain from digressing.
Gina did an excellent job of taking her time explaining exactly how the massage was going to go, and made me feel very comfortable going in to it. She’s balances confidence with calm which automatically eased most of my concerns.
I got onto the heated table (seriously. this alone was an awesome feeling) and started on a truly enjoyable experience. It was more emotionally releasing than I expected, but she was sure to check in with me and make sure that I was always comfortable. I never felt awkward or rushed.
I will definitely be back. I left completely relaxed, only rivaled by the feeling you get when you have been swimming. The space is nice, the building is really neat (and she is informed about its history), there was plenty of street parking and it’s right in the middle of a busy area full of coffee shops, restaurants and boutiques so there is plenty to do before/​after if you choose.

I left up out of there feelin’ hella great!
Gina explains how it goes, checks in with you to make sure you’re having a great experience, and gets into them muscles and shows them who’s runnin’ the show! She uses aromatherepy as well, and she gives you options as to what you may like during your personal experience, and she even had my feet feeling amazing. I’m just glad I didn’t drool on the table– it was soo good!
I was so pleased with the massage I received, and I cannot wait for the skin care services to kick in this fall! And she has specials and happy hour deals for the economist like myself, lol! I recommend her highly!
