If you read through the reviews you will find that this place is great. Don’t listen to the one person who has their head up their ass. What was his little comment? That they focus on baked goods? IT’S A BAKERYDUMBASS! I recommend the almond ring, an amazingly delicate ring filled with cream and sprinkled with almonds. The apple vang is also fantastic, not overly sweet, but extremely well done.

This place is a below average Scandinavian bakery. They focus primarily on Norwegian baked goods serving such childhood favorites as Marsipan Kake and Skolebroed(transilated School bread). The opening hours are never predictable.

In my opinion, the best thing about Scandinavian pastry is cardamom, liberally combined with custard. I picked up two vanilla cream danishes and a skolebroed and I might be close to custard overload. These be some fine pastries! Please folks, shop at these little mom & pop joints. Sure all the trendy chi chi places in downtown Ballard probably have good stuff too, but let’s send some love to Scandinavian Bakery and keep ‘em going.

What?! There is only one review of this little slice of heaven?! The Scandinavian bakery is a gift from god, people. Its absolutely amazing. The best thing about the Scandinavian bakery is the marzipan cake. Oh my lord, the marzipan. Its probably my second favorite cake in the world and that’s saying a lot because I like a lot of fucking cake. The marzipan cake is sweet, full of cream, and is best served cold. It comes in raspberry, lemon, and rum. Great, great, great! The cookies are to die for, the turnovers are the best I have ever tasted. Pretty much anything you get at this place is worth it. I would marry this place, okay. It knows how to satisfy my wants and needs. Its just that fucking good.

Their custard/coco buns(skolebroed) are horrible! People, please stop going to the Scandinavian Bakery and buying these if you know what’s not good for you. Every time I go there they are sold out of the poor things, so I find myself unable to proplerly dispose of them, which is INMYBELLY! So stop it, people. They are no good for you. Their baked goods are so-so, but their marzipan cakes are the real deal. Open whenever the old lady feels like it.

OMG!!! I’ve died and gone to heaven, okay at least heaven on earth. Now please do not get this place mixed up with Larsen’s Bakery, this IS the real one. They make some of the BEST marzipan cakes in the world here. Fluffy goodness is found in both the cake itself and the filling, apricot is my fav, my wife luvs the Rum flavor. The marzipan is rolled to the correct thickness and is smooth not grainy. Heck, I usually don’t like store bought cake, but this stuff, is to die for! I kid you not! The pinwheels, when in stock are flaky and light, just the right amount of jam. You’ll have to fight with the Pizza hut next door for parking but you can often find street parking. Heck for this stuff I’d walk a mile, and for me to say that is a lot! Try a cake for a special occasion, they make to order, or stop by just for a slice, you’ll be happy you did… drool…
