Fantastic chicken salad sandwich, carrot ginger soup and friendly staff. Great setting as well that my dog enjoys also. Not sure why the negative reviews it’s a café in a nursery not Canlis

We love this place, not just for the ambiance(who doesn’t like sitting in a lush garden with beautiful koi ponds sipping a great cup of coffee?), but for the quality of the food and friendliness of the staff. They make almost all of their baked goods right on premise, every day, from scratch and it’s pretty fantastic stuff. From scones to croissants, quiches to muffins; I’ve been going here about once a week now for over a year and love it. The only downsides are that it’s a little expensive(but the pricing seems to line up with treating staff fairly, and using quality ingredients); and there’s no wifi on the off chance you might want to work a little bit in the beautiful setting. It’s a great local café in a fantastically unique setting.

Love this place. Food is fresh and Tasty. Nice choices on menu. The ambience is great — -like eating in a garden. Chicken salad sand which was delish as well as the chunky broccoli soup.

A business should be judged on their own merits. I’m super happy with Seasons. I like not waiting(and waiting and waiting) for a server… I like the premade sandwiches that get warmed up, especially the tomato basil. I think this place is affordable and great for breakfast. I wish they had a breakfast burrito. The star off is because they heat up the rice milk too much and it would help if they used a thermometer to make sure it isn’t scalding. The cups are hard to drink out of.

Well, I gave this place another try and am still really dismayed.(And I really think it’s inane for anybody to say«OK, it’s not Alexa’s, time to move on» as if we who appreciate good meals are in need of grief counseling :) Why on earth a nice restaurant was given the heave-ho to be replaced with a lackluster food service is beyond me, so that’s why the comparing goes on. I ordered a roast beef sandwich and got dry grocery-store bread with coldcuts and a limp piece of lettuce on it. QFC would have made a better sandwich. With the attentive restaurant-style service gone, the experience of feeding here(it’s not dining) now feels like eating a refrigerated sandwich in a bus station. Albeit with plants and fish hanging around. Really, Swanson’s, you could do much, much better than this, with your lovely location and a captive audience!

Seasons wouldn’t last in Ballard or Blue Ridge as an independent café if it wasn’t inside Swansons. It’s nothing exciting. The baked goods are Starbucks or Safeway quality. Wish they could just drive a food truck in there… One with coffee of course.

I am very happy with Seasons café. I have been here multiple times after taking my elderly mother through swansons to pick out plants for her gardens. The food is consistent, the service is always patient and considerate. Rather remarkable considering the place has mostly teenagers employed. Home made soup and some kind of baked good and a latte are what we usually have. We have never been disappointed. Too bad the other café is gone, but time to move on and give this place a fair shake because it is a lovely place.

We ate at Alexis Café in Swanson’s Nursery many times and enjoyed it, but this renamed effort is a poor substitute. It is the same pretty location, same tables and chairs and same food counters. Instead of table service they have reverted to ordering at the counter and bringing the food to you. The food is basic fast food/coffee shop choices, much of it in the counter on display waiting to be warmed up. I had a ham, cheese and tomato sandwich on whole wheat, which was a slice of the aforementioned ham, cheese and tomato laid inside of two pieces of genetic sliced brown bread, curling up at the ends. It was plonked on a platter with a thin slither of pickle. They forgot the mustard, but it probably wouldn’t have helped. My latte was given to me in a styrofoam cup and lid rather than a china mug, even though it was evident we were sitting down to eat. A friends quiche was only partially heated. My wife, on the other hand enjoyed her bowl of chili. Perhaps it is teething pains as they are just open, but they badly need a more profession approach if they are going to succeed.
