History

Established in 2010.

Scribble Sketch Press is a small independent studio making small batches of original and custom letterpress and relief printed artwork and paper goods. The studio is currently home to three printing presses: a Nolan Proof Press, a Chandler & Price new style tabletop Pilot press (6.5×10), and a 1910 Chandler & Price old style floor model platen press (812). I’m currently working in relief processes like woodcut, linoleum, custom magnesium dies, and letterpress.

Business Owner

My name is Emily, and I’m a printmaker.

After studying studio art (printmaking) and communications in college, and then art education in grad school, I found it difficult to make work at home without consistent access to the print studio environment and equipment that was always a source of creativity and experimentation for me. Living in a small beach area apartment, space was also an issue. When I took a letterpress and wood engraving course one summer, something just clicked.
