Seattle’s Best Moving & Delivery

I had Tony, Mike and Andrew help me move a lot of items from a 2 bed apartment to a house. It’s was a tough job, but they did it with quality and speed. They showed up in time and they moved everything without any damages. I would hire them again but 8 don’t want to move any time soon. Moving is definitely not fun!

We were tight on time to find a mover — we had about one week to schedule and execute our move from Cap Hill to Ballard. I called Seattle’s Best Moving and they answered promptly. There were the only moving company I called in the Seattle area that actually picked up the phone and didn’t force me to leave a voicemail or go online. I scheduled my move and was good to go.
Since my boyfriend and I were moving in together, we had two stops — his place first, then mine. The team was very accomodating and $ 85/​hr for a team of 3 guys was amazing. Just an FYI — it was supposed to be 2 guys, but they threw a 3^rd in becuase one had thrown his back out the day prior. He could lift lighter boxes, but it was nice to know they care about their employees. The guys were super friendly and we had some great laughs
I called twice after I scheduled the move to confirm /​add information and the phone was picked up right away. Super accomodating. They estimated our move to be $ 340 – 385 and it was only $ 300! You definitely get the most bang for your buck with these guys. They were super attentive to everything we were moving and we have not found any dents or dings in ANYTHING we moved from two apartments.
Only complaint? They were a little later than they had originally projected (arrived at 9:40 when they were planning on being there at 9:25/9:30), which is totally okay because we still were able to get everything packed within an hour and moved into our new place within the 3 they had projected. Oh, one of the guys did lock his keys in the truck so we had to wait for a locksmith, but they paused the time so we were not charged for the time they were waiting for a locksmith. Most other companies would keep that clock running and steal your $$$!
We just moved today and I’m exhausted but the one thing I wanted to do was write this review so anyone shopping around for a mover tonight or this weekend will know to call these guys! Thanks again guys — you rock!

These guys are super friendly and nice, and are really hard-​working. They go the extra mile to ensure that your furniture and belongings are transported safely by covering everything with the proper padding/​equipment. Even when some of my cardboard boxes broke/​ripped (I ran out of tape), they were diligent in making sure nothing broke, even if it meant moving items one-​by-​one.
For my move, the only drawback was that the moving van randomly broke the morning of, and they were delayed an hour in coming out to my place. However, they apologized profusely on several occasions, kept me updated in real time on the status of the vehicle and when they could make it out, and even made up for it by adding an extra person to help my move at no extra cost.
Scheduling the move was also very easy and the price was reasonable, compared to other movers. Just make sure you get cash to pay them. Apparently, someone scammed them a few years back by paying with credit card so they have a cash/​Paypal-​only policy.

I found myself in a real jam when the first moving company backed out the day before because of the steep incline of the driveway at the new house in Kirkland. In a panic, I called Seattle Best Moving and John was calm, cool and assured me that he would cover us no matter how long it took. Having moved a number of times over the last couple of decades, I have to say that the crew John provided was positive, efficient and very careful. They worked until 11pm to make sure we would make it out in time for buyer final walk thru the next morning. Can’t thank you guys enough (so here’s a great Unilocal review)!

At first I was a little nervous because I got a call on the day of the move saying that one of the movers had gotten sick and there would be delays in the move. In spite of being down a worker, I still got two workers within an hour of the scheduled start time, and finished exactly in the estimated time without scratches or dings in my furniture or apartment.
Slight downside is payment by either cash or PayPal + 3.5% convenience fee, but it’s worth it to get reliable, hard workers. These guys don’t slack.

Great guys, very friendly and hard working. Perfect moving and more than willing to disassemble and reassemble furniture to get things done. Great service, will use again if the need ever arises. On time and finished in lees time than appointed.

I had this company move me twice once to storage then to my new home. They were rear communicators. John called several times to check how the crew was doing during the moves. The movers were great and fun to work with. Nothing was broken and all the boxes were placed in the right rooms. They even moved my antique upright piano with great care.
I’d highly recommend them for small and large jobs.

This was a great experience. It took less time than I thought, and the movers were really helpful. Another thing i enjoyed about this company, is that I called last minute, and they were able to schedule me in for the next day, I recommend Seattle’s Best Moving & Delivery for your next move. Just ask for John.

Worst experienced ever. Despite several confirmations, failed to show up on time. Later learned they were having lunch. Finally showed up 6 hours later with a van that was 3 times too small for the move despite several earlier discussions about the square footage of our house. Moving lasted until midnight with several pieces of furniture being damaged. They couldn’t get one sofa into the home. The overall charge ended up being twice the estimated price. If I had gone with a company that charged me that eventually, I would have had a timely move with no damages and less none-​sense to put up with.

This was my first experience ever hiring movers so I was a bit apprehensive about which company to hire as I’ve heard multiple horror stories of things being broken or stolen and workers hired by the hour dragging out the move. This company was none of the above. John was fantastic at accomodating my move on such short notice, literally the day before at a random hour of the night. The guys arrived two hours early, which kind of freaked me out since I was still at work &requested a later time, but didn’t charge for the extra wait time. I even asked, literally last minute if they could pick up a couch I’d bought from a furniture store before they met me at my house &they did non-​hesitantly despite me having to wait an hr to be given my keys to my new place to take measurements to make sure that the sofa would fit &I wouldn’t have to switch over to a love seat. They were very patient and extremely helpful with my hectic schedule. By the time I’d moved four things into my car Michael and Eugene had already completely loaded all of my apartment into the truck. I would highly recommend this company to everyone and anyone needing to move. Thanks to Best Moving & Delivery my move was absolutely stress and hassle-​free.

Overall, we had a great experience with Best Moving. We had moved all of our possessions into storage in West Seattle while we closed on a house on Whidbey Island and I was very concerned with the travel fees since there was a ferry involved and I didn’t want to get stuck paying for 2 – 3 extra hours just because there might be a wait at the ferry and/​or rush hour traffic. John assured me that they only charge from when they show up to the first location to when they empty their truck at the second location plus ½ hour of «travel time». I was sold! John set everything up with me on the phone, the 3 guys who moved us were on time, nice to work with, and they finished in their estimated time.
Also, due to how much stuff we had to move, I asked if they would fill a U-​haul truck that we rented and would drive as well and they had no problem with that. All in all, one small thing was broken that I know of so far (which they were profusely apologetic about) and they were super nice and excellent at packing their truck. The one drawback is that we had miscommunication regarding payment options. I thought cash was just preferred, but really it sounds like they are more of a strict cash business. Luckily, I was able to make a payment via paypal since I only had cards on me aside from the cash I tipped them with, but I wouldn’t say that is a standard thing for them to do.
If I planned to ever move again, I would definitely look into using these guys again.

Recently moved out of a 4 bedroom house and was needing a moving company to assist. In previous moves, I have been able to rely on family friends or recommended movers — but none were an option this time around. I went to Unilocal to scout out my options and Best Moving stood out. Setting the appointment with Jahn 3 weeks prior to the move was easy, but I had concerns that something might fall through (Probably just pre-​move jitters). The move day arrives and Jahn called to see if it was ok for his crew to come earlier than planned (Great!).
The crew arrived promptly and Michael (guy in charge) took an estimate of the work (5 hours) and had me sign a few things. They immediately got to work and I dont think they took a single break all day. Everything was moved & packed carefully, they made sure they coordinated the priority of items with me when the truck was getting full, and went out of their way to be courteous to the house and our space (Asking if it was ok to wear shoes in the house, etc.). Unpacking went perfectly as well with no problems to report. In a measure of great customer service, Jahn called toward the end to see if things were ok and if I had any issues.
At the end of the day, they came in under their original estimate and all pricing was exactly what I expected — no surprises at all. There was no pressure /​anticipation of a tip (although I gave one as they worked extremely hard) Highly recommend Best Movers and I will absolutely use again.

We used Best Moving very recently when we moved from an apartment to a condo only 3 blocks away. I called and was able to get a hold of Jahn right away and scheduled for 2 weekends out, no problem. Jahn’s rates are very affordable and we opted to use 3 guys and a truck. This was a great idea because the entire move only took a little over 3 hours.
Jahn wasn’t present for the move, but the 3 men who came were quick, hard working, and very careful with our items. Nothing broke and no complaints were made when stairs or slow, sticky elevators were encountered.
They do charge ½ an hour for travel time and strongly prefer cash. Make sure to have some ice cold bottled water for these hard workers. I highly recommend Best.

They were fast, careful (not a single thing broke, etc.), and had a really great attitude despite the fact that my move was difficult (out of an apartment building, into a house with lots of stairs), and took almost 3 hours longer than anticipated. I couldn’t believe how reasonable the final price turned out to be. I highly recommend.

I recently had to move unexpectedly in a very short time span at the end of the month. My preferred movers that I have used a few times were not able to fit me in on such short notice so I called around to a bajilion companies. I had called Best Moving to see what their options were and they said they could get me in. Interestingly enough, this wasn’t the moving company I booked. I booked another one that kept changing the date/​time on me, which was making my already stressful move, that much more stressful. Anyway, apparently Best Moving thought I had booked them even though I never confirmed. They showed up bright and early, for a lower rate than anticipated and I decided to just go with them because the other company kept stressin’ me with the time changes.
2 very nice men showed up and were understanding of my situation and had really good attitudes. Nothing seemed too unreasonable for them. They helped take things apart and put things back together. They also helped me get large items into the rafters of a garage for storage. They were cheap, friendly and hardworking. Not sure what more you’d want… Other than a superhero.

Used these guys to move heavy furniture across town to a new place. It was a relatively small job: couch and large loveseat, a fairly large mini-​fridge, a bed and an awkward-​to-​move plant…
They called ahead to let us know they were running ahead of schedule, arrived about an hour ahead of the anticipated time (which was fine with us) and had everything moved very quickly. They arrived and got down to work immediately, no delays. It was easy to see why they were running ahead of schedule for the day!
The only quirks are that they strongly prefer cash payment (they may *only* take cash, I didn’t push the issue), and overall communication when setting up the time for the move could be a little better. I did have a few calls/​voicemail messages go unanswered… but I am sure these guys are busy, and trust me, it is definitely worth putting up with those issues as the result was as good as it could get.
They moved us in about half the time I expected it would take. Price was lowest amongst companies I looked at in the Seattle area.
We will definitely use them again, no question.

These guys work really, really hard. Very safe and fast. They moved us to a 3 story house and didnt break anything, or ding any walls. I was very glad we chose them. John and his brother were very friendly, too. I will recommend them to others, and use them in the future if I need to move.

My moving day was extremely stressful, the movers I had hired were a no show and thus I was frantic to find help immediately.
I called this company at 5:00PM on a Saturday and they showed up that evening within an hour to help me move after they had been helping another family all day.
Not only did these guys save my day, they were extremely kind, gentle with my belongings and worked very effective and efficently! If I ever move again, there is no doubt that I would hire them!

I had a … very mixed… experience with Best Moving. Let me explain.
The person who took the calls was this John fellow (Jähn, however it is spelled – he is Belarusian I believe, which initially was charming, as accents and I get along fantastically)… Initially, things sounded A-​OK… I called around and also called to check licenses with the state – you’ve no idea just how critical this is till someone presents a fake license and it becomes a disaster!
So I took the risk and said yes. Left a message to the effect of call me back ASAP as my move was in the upcoming week. No call returned. Not answered. I called 6 times and no answer, no call return. Panic started setting in when by Friday before move day I had no confirmation; the other thing I asked upfront was for them to do what is legally required by law – to offer the paperwork ALL movers are required to provide to you when giving an estimate or at the start of work… Was told by the state this is crucial, and I get why now. No other mover lacked this paperwork – the call taker/​scheduler acted like he would get it no problem, and why wouldn’t he? I mean, it is a standard and required by law form (that explains in detail the exact charges – the arrive&depart charges, rates, etc) – it is quite tough to trust word of mouth when you’ve been burned. It is also unlawful and subject to license removal for them.
So once I finally got through – BY CALLING FROM A DIFFERENT PHONE NUMBER (as zero calls returned&taken while I figured out he left the «office» without calling as promised only to go off to party while I was left hanging!)… He acted like he was moving and would call me right back – not a move sound in the air, ahem… So by this time, I started thinking oh crud they are gonna no-​show or worse, show, be a fraud, and ruin or lose/​steal something… Saturday, after actually booking last minute at nearly twice the price… John’s response to me was if I wanted papers I could hire someone else (!!!) but I breathed deep and knowing the cost was half what an extra last minute crew hired would cost by the ones rec’d by Adams (who has no non-​smoking crews which is critical as I am severely allergic when exposed to smoke or spending much time with people who do smoke, especially in my home, handling clothes)…
Now here is the important part: Best moving DIDN’T ACTUALLY MOVE ME! They took a chunk of the movers’ money but outsourced me effectively! BEST THING EVER!
Those people – Ryan, Alan, and Sam, are licensed (I checked), have their own fabulous truck, and get this… Down between Pike Place & the Aquarium where my new home is utterly CRAMPED and the truck had under 2 feet clearance in width total (!!), smooth as silk driving. I rode with them and have to disclose Ryan (I affectionately called him monkey – cute kind of monkey face on a body that stretches by hanging on the hall rails waiting for the elevator up to my unit – trust me the metal rails&concrete walls didn’t mind!) was both hilarious and pretty adorable tucked behind his *dad! In this 2′ wide space, again a monkey stealth move – yes it is family owned/​operated, huzzah, son dad and nephew/​cousin!)
So my move was THE smoothest and safest despite me having crazy-​huge furniture (think showroom for those huge double sized hotel cushiony type sectionals, that’s mine!!)
The ONLY tiny and ultimately minor whoops? They took a single chair from my housemates’ dining table – why? Cause my boxes were on it and they literally lifted it from the chair base – a silly simple error. Now I was frickin exhausted as always when moving. I still needed to go back to get my cat and last few things, but «not til I rest a bit!!» I simply wanted to hire a cab and let him take it up – I asked to reduce by $ 20… They offered to take it back, and I really wasn’t upset – just a silly fixable mistake – but as John followed up, I mentioned this and he PITCHED A FIT – totally not professional or cool considering he was being paid to be slack and outsourced me! Oh, I also hired 2, was sent 3 as no time to drop #3 off – but still out of budgetary reach, though were it not such a sudden move/​were I able to save another $ 60−100 – in reality was ridiculously only $ 50 were it the exact same time, so it was likely faster as Alan kept my stuff safe while unloading&Sam&Ryan got it into the card-​swipe entry and up my 7 floors, but how could I know?); someone didn’t get paid as a result and that isn’t cool (they got treated well but it is a principle thing that hiring 3 and paying 2 isn’t cool) :(
End result? Everything moved safely, chair back, John yelled at for almost making me miss out on *Professional Moving and Delivery* who ROCK & who deserved every penny. They all got HUGGED by me (& cash-​tipped).
MOURNFUL UPDATE-​The Turkish delights have moved onto better pastures and no longer offer moving services. I am again scrambling to find a trustworthy company I can afford.

I’ve moved many times and what makes for a good move is the attitude of the movers. We had 2 men and a clean truck show up with a can do attitude. They accomplished the move in a timely matter and the bill was half of what someone else had quoted me. I was impressed. I will use them again and will highly recommend them to friends.
