I just moved into Wedgwood not far from this Subway. I’ve been there several times now and have found the staff to be completely professional and fast. Unlike many Subway’s, they have their own«sub of the day» type of special where each day of the week there is a different kind of foot-long sub selling for six dollars. I’ve tried a number of them, and now I’m dealing with a Subway addiction problem, and it’s their fault.

I love this Subway. The employees in other reviews must not work here anymore. I’ve been here probably 20 times in the last two years and haven’t had any problems. The staff I’ve interacted with have been kind and professional.

On 8−2−09 at around 5 in the afternoon I walked in to this Subway to get myself a sub. First let me say that I love Subway in general but this experience and the previous similar experiences I’ve had make me absolutely disgusted with this particular Subway. Anyways, I walk in and a young caucasian man with glasses gets up out of his chair in the back office and walks in to the front counter to make my sub. He proceeds to put gloves on his hands and gets ready to make my sub. I don’t know if this person has his food handler’s card or not but he should know to wash his hands when he walks into a food preparation area. I asked him nicely to wash his hands. His response was a simple«Why?». I was disgusted. I think to myself that this must be the expectation that has been set by the people that manage this establishment. I told the gentleman that it was ok and he could take his gloves off, I would not be ordering a sub from this place EVER again, and walked out. Mind you, this has happened to me on more than one occasion at this place. I don’t know what I was thinking but I was stupid for ever giving this Subway a second chance. If you want to roll the dice and risk catching god knows what from the people that work here, you do so at your own risk.

You ever wake up and have a desire to consume something very specific? For me today it was a sub sandwich, and not just any sub sandwich, but a subway sandwich from the local Subway sandwich chain on 35th in Wedgwood. I don’t know why, but I had a hankering for one of their cold cut combos. I went to the post office today on 35th to take care of some postal business, and then I used that opportunity(since I was already out in the world and all) to go and satisfy my sandwich cravings at the local Subway store. As I approached the place I looked to see how many people were in there. The last time I was there, there were like 9 people standing around waiting to either order, or were standing there impatiently waiting for their sandwiches to be prepared. It must have been my lucky day today because there were no customers in there at all. I guess it DOES help going there around 3:00 which is way past lunch hour, and much too early for dinner time. I walked into the store, and made my way up to the service counter. The person behind the counter was a bored looking 20s something who appeared to be listening to a static filled radio, that was blaring forth music from the 70s era. Since I wasn’t too particular pleased with that era I did my best to tune the music out. In this I was unsuccessful. The lady behind the counter asked in the most bored fashion«How can I help you?» I immediately let her know that I wanted 4, cold cut combos.(I always buy more than I need, so later if I want a quick snack I can quickly satisfy my appetite cravings) I then let her know before hand what other items I wanted on the sandwiches, and I let her know that all the sandwiches were to be prepared the same way. She said«okay» and burst into a flurry of movement. I went off to read the Stranger newspaper that some other customer left behind. I figured that it would take this person some time to assemble the sandwiches. It didn’t take me long to get to the personals section in the Strangers newspaper, and just when I finally found an article that I really liked, the lady who was preparing my sandwiches asked did I want potato chips, or something to drink along with my purchase? I was shocked. She had prepared 4 Subs in less than 4 minutes flat! I was impressed. I paid for the food and left the store. I made it home and unwrapped one of the subs, and consumed it. It was delicious, and it had everything I asked for in it. If you want super fast service I totally recommend this Subway store on 35th in Wedgwood to satisfy your instant, gratification food fix, needs.

I normally like Subway but not this one. I went in yesterday and got so much attitude from the girl working the counter that I almost left. She gave the impression of hating her job, despising me, and she had no respect for the customers or the food she was making. When I asked for my sandwich she dumped the chicken on lop-sided so that it was mostly on one half of the sandwich. When I asked her to spread it out some she gave me a dirty look(but complied). When she asked what kind of cheese I wanted I asked her what the options are and she looked at me as if I were the stupidest person in the world for asking her. She gave me similar tude every step of the way. I also take exception to the way she made the sandwich. She tossed the ingredients on with such impatience you’d think I was keeping her from something else more important, and she didn’t care where the ingredients landed on the bread. She just wanted to get me out of the store. She was also skimpy with the ingredients. All in all I’d say that was the worst customer service I’d ever seen anywhere. She really lowered the bar. Her name tag said Nicole.

I love Subway. They’re clean and have fresh ingredients. They make your sandwich somewhat quickly and exactly how you want it and with a smile. This Subway… not so much. I’ve been four times and don’t go anymore. The sandwich makers are only somewhat friendly half the time and are very skimpy building your sandwich. The ingredients look old, not freshly stocked. But here’s the deal: I went to this Subway — my fourth and final visit — and witnessed the sandwich maker count my money with the latex gloves still on his hands which he wore while making my sandwich. My change was covered with vinegar and pickle juice… yuck! But then, yeah, you guessed it, he went back to the sandwich line and started to make the next customer’s sandwich with the same gloves still on. Super-yuck!!! I didn’t say anything because obviously this guy didn’t care; he knew I saw what he did and kept on making the sandwich. I almost said something to the customer and now wish I had. I’m sorry, whoever you are. I’m giving Subway two stars because after I went on-line and sent in a complaint, I received a speedy response from the owner and was told there were coupons for a free sandwich waiting for me at the store.
