Specialties
We’ve developed a curriculum to help infuse salsa into your system! We break down the key components and teach them in a way that will stay with you long after you’ve left the studio. At Sueños, you’ll receive personal attention to keep you on track for your goal of becoming an excellent dancer.
We believe that a strong focus on the core components of the dance will accelerate your ability to retain class information. We’ll teach you the key ingredients including timing, connection, musicality and how to find and feel the hits in the music. And yes, we’ll teach you great turn patterns, footwork and styling as well. But our goal at Sueños is for our students to feel something more: that something that exudes confidence.
Classes are fun and well-paced with plenty of time to practice at the end of class.
Meet the Business Owner
Michael C.
Business Owner
Michael grew up in Santa Fe listening to the Latin rhythms of his father’s flamenco troupe. During Spanish language studies in Cuzco, Peru, he discovered salsa dance, and when he returned to the U.S. he joined every salsa class he could find. Desiring a deeper understanding of the dance, Michael traveled to Havana Cuba to study with Yaykel Parez. He studied for the next several years, traveling to Ecuador, Mexico and all over the USA to train. He has performed and competed throughout the Northwest. He and his dance partner Dana Sindona finished in the top 5 at the 2011 and 2012 Gemini Salsa championships, and he has won multiple Jack and Jill contests in Seattle. In March of 2012,13 and 14 Michael trained and competed in the Seattle Dances benefit. Winning a mirrorball trophy in 2014 with Carol Bailey Medwell. Michael believes great salsa dancing comes from understanding the basic rhythm, timing, body mechanics and a dancer’s connection to the music and your partner.
