So good! I ordered a turkey and swiss croissant and it was so much better than it already sounded! The croissant was perfectly flaked and in every bite you can taste the turkey and swiss. It was exactly what I needed this morning. You need to try this place!

Not a single complaint. I mean when can you go wrong when your name has Sugar in it? We were traveling back to Spokane and Unilocaled cheesecake. Sugar cane up, we tried it, and loved it. We ordered plain cheesecake, it was delicious. We also ordered iced caramel lattes, and they were also great!!! And I am super picky when it comes to iced lattes. Their décor was unique and fun. Heir customer service was perfect and their display was top notch! Definitely recommend.

This is my favorite bakery in Seattle. The staff is friendly and the baked goods are consistently outstanding. The one bad experience I have had there was rectified on my next visit with a complimentary sugar cookie (my favourite) and they took my criticism to heart and improved the menu item that was sub par.

Cute and adorable bakery around the corner of the hotel we stayed at. I walked over early for a tasty coffee and some baked delightfulness. A happened upon surprise while I was searching for a good cup of coffee (that the hotel I had to settle upon did not have).

I love this little spot! It is just around the corner from my apartment. It is always so warm and inviting in the mornings, I have made it a habit of treating myself once a week to one of their lattes. I will often grab something sweet to treat one of my coworkers, they all rave and look forward to what I bring in each week. Sweets Bakery is never too busy which makes it a quick stop on my rush to work. I highly recommend, it is really nice to have them in the neighborhood.

I love the contemporary old school bakery feel to it. You can tell these ladies work hard. I really appreciated the variety of coffees, teas, soups, sandwiches & desserts. My husband is an Italian & pastry chef, so I like to order things he can make or can’t.
I chose the basil soup with focaccia (hubby can make)
& the truffle red velvet cake (hubby hasn’t made)
Tbh, the soup was pretty damn good & on point. Afterwards, I wish I’d had ordered the bowl & not the cup. It was that good. The focaccia was perfect, just enough sea salt & herbs to make the flavor linger in your mouth, but not on your breathe. It was like a sweet kiss.
Have you ever craved chocolate, but then ordered red velvet, loved it, but only wished you had chosen chocolate instead? Well, this place has the perfect combo. Red velvet cake with a nice Gallup of fudge inside. Although a bit drier than it looked on the edges, this truly satiated any chocolate vs red velvet battles. I could totally do this again. Although not bad customer service by any means, I was bummed not to get the ice water I had ordered.
This is more of a 4.5 place in my book, & if I can I will come back.

Amazing pastries, both sweet and savory! This is a great place to stop for breakfast or indulge in an afternoon snack. I love to try their seasonal pastries so I get something different every time, and their salted caramel croissant and apple caramel croissant are standouts! They also serve great coffee too and have cake slices for half price on Saturdays! I only wish they were open longer hours on the weekends, but they’re now open on Sundays!!!

I am a croissant lover and have had many many many in my life. The one I had here was not the best I have ever had. Not bad but not great. The price is what really pissed me off. My croissant was $ 4.00. It was tiny! I would expect $ 4 for a bagel or even a bigger croissant but this one was half the size of a bagel :(Sadly Starbucks has bigger, cheaper, and better croissants.

Just popped in for the first time this morning, although I’ve driven by many times. The name made me think it might not be for me — not into super-​super sweet. Haaaappy surprise! It’s delicious. Tried two cookies and a sandwich. The sandwich in particular was deliciously seasoned and on really nice bread. Very friendly staff. I’ll be back!

One of the best croissants in the city. Also, you better eat the cheesecake bites. Also, eat a seasonal cupcake. Now. Treat yo self.

Great for cakes and sandwiches… We went in wanting a sweet treat and not cake… On a weekend it the offerings were slim. Parking also sucks

I wanted to do a fun gender reveal cake for myself, my boyfriend and our parents, since we were going on for our 20 week ultrasound. I found Sugar after calling around to some bakeries that said they could only make a custom cake if they had 4 – 5 days notice. I didn’t want anything terribly fancy and I wanted something done the day after our ultrasound! So I called ahead to see if they could do a cake within 24 hours. The gentleman I talked to was very nice and accommodating and said that they would be able to make what I wanted — blue or pink icing hidden inside the cake, depending on what we were having — within 24 hours!
Luckily i was having my ultrasound at Swedish, so right after we got out of our appointment, I dropped the top secret envelope off with the staff at Sugar. Customer service was phenomenal. They took my order promptly, were extremely nice, as they were on the phone, and congratulated us on the happy news! They even gave us a call to let us know the cake would be done the same day.
I forget his name, but one of the staff members was nice enough to hang back after 4:30pm so we could pick up our cake in rush hour traffic and in lieu of the viaduct closing… which was SO nice because we were coming from North Seattle and made it there right at 4:45!
The vanilla chocolate cake we ordered was beautifully done and delicious and we were surprised with PINK frosting inside!!! I cannot thank the staff at Sugar enough for making that dinner a special one we’ll never forget. I will be recommending them to everyone in the future

I really wanted to grab desserts from here but they were closed even though Unilocal said they should be open. I arrived at 5:50 and they close at 6 :(

A really solid bakery for grab-​and-​go pastries and lunch. I also echo previous reviews that recommend the salted caramel croissant. I’m slightly confused by this item, though, as it didn’t taste particularly salty or carameley to me. It was very tasty, with a good texture that was soft and balanced with just the right amount of crunch.
I came here around noon on a Friday on my first visit, and by then they were completely out of the famed salted caramel croissants (major bummer!) I did try the veggie breakfast sandwich, and it was very flavorful and really hit the spot. I also got the funfetti cake to-​go. The cake was a little dry, but the vanilla buttercream frosting was just perfect. They only have a couple tables and some bar seating by the window, which was fine when we went but could fill up quickly during a lunch rush.
I wisened up about getting to Sugar a little early the next time, so my friend stopped by on a Saturday around 10 (they open at 9) to pick up some pastries for us. Finalllyyyyy got to try the salted caramel croissants and they are totally worth it, trust me. Also had the cinnamon brioche, which was also great (think a slightly more sophisticated cinnamon roll minus frosting.) I also thoroughly enjoyed the savory turkey and cheese croissant. The mustard was a nice addition, which you don’t see often with savory croissants.
Keep in mind that while they do have croissants, don’t expect traditional French pastry options. The choices here are distinctly American: cake, cookies, brownies, etc. Not a bad thing by any means.
I only wish the salted caramel croissants were easier to get throughout the day here. I don’t often have time to go to a bakery before work on a weekday, and I’m reluctant to drive into Seattle on a weekend morning when I could be sleeping in. Ah well, worth trying at least once! Hopefully I will be back.

Best bakery on capital hill! Even better that it’s hidden on Madison and Boren. They expanded the assortment of food and it’s hard to choose. They love and taste is in every bite

I live next door to them and I’ve only been able to go once. Extra star because the pastries are actually good. Two stars because you aren’t actually up open, ever.

I had visited sugar bakery many times before and had their cookies and they were delicious.
The service is great and the staff is always very friendly.
I love the décor and the pink all around! I mean a pink bakery? Too cute.
We held a bridal shower for my colleague and her favorite cake is funfetti. We got the birthday celebration cake and I was disappointed. Maybe it is because I’ve had the best birthday cakes and I have high expectations.
The frosting tastes like pure butter. I love buttercream but this was straight butter. The cake itself was dry. Not at all moist like I had expected.
I will try them again and get their cookies but I don’t know if I can get another cake from here.

I’ve come here a bunch of times and have sampled a variety of their cookies and sandwiches. I’ve pretty much enjoyed everything. The thing that sort of irks me is that their sandwiches aren’t cheap (~$ 7 each), but they’re all sitting there pre-​made, ready to be warmed up — and they’re not even that busy! Therefore, if you don’t like mayonnaise — too bad, it’s already slathered all over their delicious focaccia bread. However, all the ingredients are fresh, and when warmed in the panini press, the slightly crispy sandwiches are pretty tasty.
The cookies are all pretty good. My favorite so far has been the lavender shortbread, which is buttery and crumbly, but not too sweet. The linzer cookie (with the jam in the middle) is also quite buttery, but could use a lot more jam.
Overall, a good place to stop by for a quick lunch.

Really cute bakery! Stopped by one morning on my way to Seattle University and grabbed a ham and cheese croissant ($ 3.75) to go. It was delicious! Very fresh and the croissant was still crispy! I thoroughly enjoyed it and it was very filling. Customer service was great too. I will say that I’ve definitely had cheaper pastries, but it seems like things in Seattle are just pricier, especially in the downtown area.
Unfortunately, that’s the only thing I can comment on since I was only in town for a few days. I noticed they had various other pastries as well that I wish I got to try but maybe next time when I visit Seattle.

Completely unexpected delight as we pulled out of the parking lot from the Baroness Hotel. Yum yum yum. Had only time for one option and picked the jam scone — was definitely a solid choice. Flaky but moist at the same time — delicious raspberry jam making this a tasty treat on my bus ride up to Vancouver. There was a crazy moment when the jam scone got mushed up next to my peanut butter cookie from Dahlia bakery and I was so excited I almost shed a few tears.
I have a serious problem. Serious. Sweet tooth-​itis.
