SOOOO pleased with how my wedding dress turned out after all of it’s alterations!
My dress had a silk underlay with an extremely detailed all lace overlay. It took a couple of visits to get everything exactly as it needed to be but every detail ended up beautiful. We ended up having to cut some of the lace in order to bring things in at certain places but you could not even tell there was a break, amazing!
The price seemed a little high but I do know the detail and amount of work that went into it probably did justify the cost. It is definitely worth a higher price to know your wedding dress is going to look perfect.

Scam artists. AVOID this place like the plague. They charged me $ 46 to sew patches on my 6 year old’s cub scout shirt. !!! I called first to determine if they would sew on patches, then described the job and I asked how much it would cost. I was told $ 8 – 10. I dropped off the shirt and the patches with clear instructions. When I went to pick up the shirt, the patches weren’t exactly where I instructed and the ticket said $ 46. WHAT!!! She told me that it took an hour to sew on the patches and they charge $ 60 an hour and they were giving me a discount. An hour? Are you kidding me? An hour for a business that calls themselves a tailor? Scam artists. So I was stuck, my little boy needed his shirt for his scout meeting, so I couldn’t exactly tell them to stick it and leave the shirt. Though I’d have to say, I was tempted to throw a ten dollar bill on the counter and run. I didn’t. But I probably should have.
AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. THEY ARE SCAMMERS.

Brought my new denim for tailoring to Superb Custom Tailors. Picked it up and it reeked of moth balls. At home I looked smell removal, nothing has worked. I took the denim back to the cleaners. The owner told me that there was no proof that my denim came into contact with mothball treated clothing at her store. She even asked 3 strangers passing on the street to see if they could identify the odor of my denim!?!
The owner claimed the odor was chemical of new denim. It was not. She said only new clothes were worked on during the four day period my denim were in the pile to be hemmed and that if moth balls had been used on any clothing in her store that she would have smelled it and that this could not have happened at her store. Excuses!
There is no way she could be so sure about the hundreds of clothing items in her shop over a four day period. I however am 100% sure about my one pair of new denim pants and what moth balls smell like. Sick to my stomach.

The ladies here are amazingly friendly. The shop is cleanly and brightly lit. I took my jeans here for hemming and I plan on coming back for other alteration needs.

I came here on a whim to get a somewhat tricky dress altered in ONE DAY and am so glad I did!
My mom had gotten me a gorgeous dress from a trip overseas, but it was too long and formal to wear to any of the parties I was going to over the holidays (or any events I normally go to for that matter…). It was made of a delicate mesh-​like material with individually sewn sequins so I was concerned about getting it altered.
They were very particular about the way I stood (I tend to talk and move around) when I tried it on as they were doing measurements, and I’m so glad, because it turned out perfectly. The price was also about $ 30 less than what I have paid for similar services and they included the refuse material, expertly cut (nothing was wasted), that I could probably use as a shawl/​wrap for another dress. There’s nowhere else I would go for my tailoring needs in Seattle, thank you!

I dropped off a windbreaker jacket to be tailored. The woman was very helpful in suggesting things that could be done to improve the fit. After she made the fittings she told me it would take 2 ½ weeks to complete. I was able to get it down to 2 weeks (which is still longer than I’ve waited for a tailor). She said she would call me with a quote. I never received a call so I showed up on the scheduled day to pick it up. The job was completed but I was hit with a $ 120.00 bill. She explained that it was a lot of work and that when she was doing the work, it was too late to call me. This is understandable, though I would of preferred we pushed it back a day so she could talk to me about the price. I would have bought a new jacket… She did do a great job on the work, so that’s a plus.
I’ve been to many tailors (this is the first one I tried in Seattle) and I would rate this experience rather poor to what I’ve been spoiled with.

Wonderful! I could not be happier. I had my wedding dress hemmed and the sash sewn on the dress. They were so helpful, friendly, fast, professional and FAST. I gave them only a week to complete this, and they delivered the highest quality of work in a short time. They made me feel welcomed and answered all my questions and concerns. Prices are reasonable, and their work was fantastic! Thank you!!!

This place was a breath of fresh air after not finding a reliable tailor in the Queen Anne/​Magnolia area. I came in with about 15 casual dress shirts and a few pairs of jeans that had been in my car for over 6 months due to lack of ability to find a tailor i was willing to try. Once I found Superb Custom Tailor, I knew I was in luck. THe pricing is a bit higher than some of the other tailors in the area, but its worth it. They explained why they were making the adjustments in every individual shirt and were open to my feedback & questions. I am very particular about how my shirts are tailored, and with each shirt they explained how my requests might affect the outcome. The price is worth it, in my opinion, if you are looking for a talented tailor who will truly listen to the alterations you want done.

I regret waiting this long to review Superb Custom Tailors’ handiwork. Here’s my story of what was almost my wedding day disaster, and how this shop saved me.
A little more than two months ago I was in the homestretch prior to my wedding. I owned my own tuxedo, but after trying it on the week before the wedding to make sure it fit prior to having it dry cleaned, I had the oh s*** moment. The moment where you look in the mirror with your sloppy suit that makes you look like a kid in his dad’s dress clothes. Where you look like the kid in the over sized dad suit that’s actually your wedding tuxedo. When you realize, my wife-​to-​be, who’s waiting for me in San Francisco, is going to see my massive tuxedo failure as a harbinger of marital doom.
So, after bringing it in late on a Saturday afternoon only to learn the tux was too big to be tailored in such a short period of time, I made a run to JosABank to buy a new, smaller tux. I have a ~11″ drop between my jacket and waist, so it’s very difficult for me to buy a suit off the rack. Musook kept her shop open after hours to wait for me that Saturday night, pinned and chalked my suit, and promised she’d have it ready by Wednesday.
Sure enough the tux was ready in remarkably short order and was fit to near perfection. Although it wasn’t a cheap service, it was well worth it – I’ve paid nearly the same amount for a far lower quality job in San Francisco.
Thanks to my fellow Unilocalers, Musook and/​or her sister saved my wedding day. No joke. I will be returning here for all future suit tailoring and dress clothes alterations.

I went here to have my wedding dress tailored one week before the wedding (note: it was a cocktail dress, not a traditional wedding dress), and suffice it to say that I was stressed and in need of a good tailor. These women did a wonderful job. They had great judgment about what aspects of the dress needed improving, and they got it done perfectly and on time. Such a relief.
I also went here to have an elaborate beaded evening gown tailored, and they once again exceeded expectations. The final fit was perfect, and they delicately sewed the beads back on so that it kept the original pattern. It wasn’t cheap, but I could trust them to get it done right when the stakes were high.
Finally, I asked them to tailor a dress for me that I bought online and was non-​returnable. The dress turned out to be a couple of sizes too big, and I thought they might be able to work their magic on it. They had me try it on, and after some pinning and fussing, they were able to honestly tell me that the tailoring wouldn’t be cheap and it wouldn’t look very good in the end. So thank you to them for their honesty and for knowing when to recommend against tailoring.
Bottom line: I trust their judgment and skill. They were great to work with for high-​stakes tailoring. Thank you!

For your more expensive items, Musook and her sister are seasoned tailors that will take the time and care needed when working with fine fabrics.

I have been going to Superb Custom Tailors for over 10 years and they have consistently delivered excellent work. They understand how garments fit and fabrics work and I have trusted them with major alterations to designer clothes as well as minor repairs over the years. I am willing to pay for quality work and the fact that there is sometimes a longer lead time indicates to me that they take the time needed to produce a professional result rather than rushing. I highly recommend them.

Get the estimate in writing first and consider how much time it will take for your alteration to be done at this establishment. I used Unilocal to find a quality tailor to alter a wedding dress (that I had found for a steal but needed shortening and other alterations.) I wanted to have the lace insert removed on the backless dress, and requested that the alterations be pushed up since I found the dress late in the game. It took two to three weeks (days before the wedding) and when I went to pick it up, the tailor hadn’t removed the lace (or notified me that she wouldn’t be doing this) and then charged me $ 200.

Their name says it all — Superb! There is no other place we will take our clothes. Two sisters run this place and they are the most amazing tailors ever. Their prices are reasonable and turn around time is decent. If you need it fast, they can usually accommodate. Everything we have ever taken there from simple hems to full-​on alterations have been done to perfection.

These ladies are the absolute best. If you are just popping in for something basic, that’s fine, but if you have high end and/​or unique clothing that need care, thought and respect, there really is no one in Seattle better than these ladies. I mean, they are better even than the good people at Nordstrom’s flagship store. We are a couple that care about our clothes a bit more than the average Seattle-​ite (and probably the average human being); this is where we go after we’ve bought anything significant. Even if our clothes fit we’ve been there just to see what they think or could suggest about fit. Really, they are the best in town. And their prices are not cheap but far less that you’d expect. I’d rate them as moderate, not expensive.

I just moved to Seattle and had to get my bridesmaids dress altered less than a week before the wedding. Not only did Superb Custom Tailors do an AMAZING job, but they were super friendly, fast and very reasonably priced. Plus, they pressed my dress for free so I didn’t even have to take it to the dry cleaners after.
I went there because they got good Unilocal reviews, and now I’m adding my own. I love Superb Custom Tailors.

I called and made an appointment to have my wedding dress altered. I brought in my dress on the day of the appointment and found the shop closed, with a sign on the door that said that the tailors were on vacation.
Good thing I have plenty of time before the wedding to find a tailor who values my business.

They quoted me $ 250 for altering my wedding dress and when I went to pick up the dress, they hit me with a $ 400 bill!
The alterations were good, but for the dishonest quote, I will never return!

When they do work, they do amazing work. I have taken dresses here and things turn out amazing. I think she is an expert at what she does. However, on that note, I have gone in here with minor alterations, such as fixing a seam or a zipper, they don’t seem as pleased to be taking in these pieces, almost as if it is beneath them. One time I was told no, they would not fix a zipper on my jacket, and that if they did it would be $ 40. I have also never had a turn around time under three weeks.
They definitely do amazing work, but I would save them for big jobs where you don’t mind spending money and the work is really important. This is what I use them for and now take the smaller things to my local dry cleaner.

I took a pair of bermuda shorts here to have the seat/​hips taken in. I was going to be wearing them a lot on an upcoming vacation and wanted them to look good.
After the shorts were pinned and they were writing up a slip, they told me that it would be 2.5 weeks and $ 33 to have my shorts altered. I was more than a little surprised at both the price and the turn around time. I told them that I wasn’t sure that would work since I wouldn’t be getting them back until the day before I was leaving on vacation and that wouldn’t leaving anytime for additional adjustments if needed. The woman insisted that it was no problem and essentially ushered me out the door.
When I came back to pick them up, they did not offer to allow me to try them before I paid. Thankfully, they did great work and the shorts fit really well in the seat.
I’m giving them 3 stars because they seem to do really great work, but the price and turn around time are high and the customer service is a little curt. I think I would take a major garmet alteration (formal wear, etc) here but will go elsewhere for minor alterations.
