I have had a lot of trouble getting ahold of this place. Sometimes it just rings and hangs up, sometimes it goes to a live answering service who takes a message but I don’t get a call back and sometimes I’ll write an email with no response. Recently I got highlights that I am not satisfied with. I called numerous times and when I finally got a answering machine and left a message, I have not gotten a call back. So disappointed!

Wow! Can I give 10 stars? Bobbie works wonders. I have VERY unruly and unmanageable curly hair and I recently went in to Sylve for a Brazilian Blowout and the results are insane. My hair blow-​drys straight, but keeps a soft wave when I air-​dry. This is everything I’ve wanted for my hair and more. If you’re on the fence about going in, take it from me… It’s life-​changing. Plus, the staff is very personable and entertaining.

I got a Brazilian Blowout. It’s amazing! I have had one traumatic Brazilian /​Keratin treatments, a few that were only half bad, and two that were amazing. And the people (I think it was Bobbie who did my hair, and Sylve was styling someone else) were absolutely delightful. I think Bobbie said Brazilian’s are impossible to mess up… but others have. She was great!
Yes, making the appointment was frustrating. And took a long time. Tip: If you’re going to use an answering service, they should probably have your schedule and be able to book or at least discuss available time to minimize phone tag, but really, you should be able to book online.

I have called multiple times, spoken to some yawning guy from an answering agency of some kind, left a message… Still haven’t been able to make an appointment

Great experience! I had a Groupon for the keratin treatment. I didn’t experience an issue making an appointment. The appointment was confirmed via text and I even received a reminder.
When I arrived for my appointment, I was greeted by an adorable puppy and then they brought delicious coffee with a chocolate cookie. I felt like a queen and the treatment went great. I received several compliments on my hair in the following days. My hair is smooth and silky! Just what I was looking for! Thank you!

First, it took a week to get a hold of them. I called daily, multiple times and the front desk person always promised «someone will call you right back.» And then they never did.
Then, when I got ahold of someone, they were rude, asked unclear and condensending questions, then told me the groupon I purchased «excluded the color red.» That was NOT in the fine print. I think the guy just didn’t want to let me use the groupon.
So they were jerks, made me feel dumb because I didn’t understand their confusing questions and were hard to get a hold of. I wouldn’t go there now if you paid me.
Edited to add: the issue with the questions was more than «they were rude.» It was that the guy was trying to get specific information from me, but apparently was not bright enough to know how to phrase questions to get the information he wanted, then was mad at me for not being psychic. In my professional life, I know how to ask the questions I need to do what I need to do– if this guy can’t do that, he can’t do his job. And again, he was rude.

Hong was GREAT! She took the time, asked about my preferences, and also gave me her suggestions with rationale. I ended up with a better haircut than expected. She also took time to show me how to take care of my hair daily, with simple products and tricks. She’s a very cheerful person.

Beware! This might be a great salon but i guess i will never know. i bought the groupon for hair cut and color and tried booking an appointment with them. They told me they do not have anything open for the next 25 days, no day no time slots at all… and when I was sad not being able to get an appointment, they actually told me that you are better off cancelling or returning your groupon. My concern with that was that when you return a groupon, you can only get groupon bucks back. on groupons side i had great experience as i was able to return it and get the bucks. For the Salon, if you don’t want groupon customers; don’t post deals there!!!

Hmm, I had both a good and bad experience coming here. It was easy to make the appointment. All of the staff here were great. I misread my appointment time on the email and arrived at the salon a week early. I asked if there were any available slots the day of and he tried to accommodate. He booked me for an appointment for later that afternoon.
I had Hong as my hair stylist. She was really nice and tried to get to know me. I showed her a picture of what kind of hair color and cut I wanted. I thought I was in good hands because she looked like she knew what she was doing. After she put the color on and took the foils off, I realized that she had colored my hair too light. In the seat, I started to freak out a little but she assured me that the color would look different after it was washed and dried. During the wash, she gave me a scalp massage that felt really enjoyable.
After she washed my hair, she gave me a haircut. Her haircut was awesome. I have never had such a great haircut before. I liked it the moment I stepped out of the shop. Even after a couple of days, I am still blown away by her talent. She layered it and made my hair look both stylish and comfortable. Before, my hair weighed heavily on my head. After she layered it, my head feels light.
The problem I had though was the color of my hair. It looked nothing like what I wanted. She and the other stylist assured me that I would get used to my hair color but I didn’t. My friends who saw my hair took one look and said the color was off. Since I have dark brown hair, the bleach and the dark brown color turned my hair brassy orange/​gold. It isn’t a color you want to sport around town. I felt like I was a cartoon in a Japanese comic book. It looked bad. I went to a Sally’s hair store trying to find purple shampoo but the lady said that it wouldn’t do too much in getting my hair brown. As a result, I ended up buy a demo-​permanent hair dye to recolor and fix the color. This surprisingly helped my hair. Since the highlights are way lighter than my other hair, re-​dying my hair still preserved the highlighted portions. I could have went back to get it fixed but they said that they would charge me extra for their service — to get it re-​toned. It just didn’t seem worth my time to go down there and get it corrected so I ended up doing it myself.
My stylist was nice, the shop was clean, but my color was just so completely not what I had wanted. I wish that the hair color had turned out well so I could recommend this place to friends. If you’re looking to get a hair cut, come here. But if you’re looking to color your hair, look elsewhere.

I have gone back and forth on whether or not I would write this review — but at the end of the day I asked myself if I would have done differently if I’d read a similar review and the answer is yes.
I had a LivingSocial coupon and was excited to use it because I live nearby and the salon has good review on Unilocal.Making an appointment was easy, I didn’t have to wait too long and the staff was all friendly.
The first snag I ran into as Hong was coloring my hair was when she asked if I wanted a toner. I didn’t know what that meant, so I asked and she said «It’ll cost extra». Without any further explanation as to why I might want a toner, I said No thanks. A better practice would have been the stylist saying something like «Toner isn’t included in your Living Social but if you want X degree of blonde, you’re not going to like it if you don’t put on a toner because it’s going to look really brassy. So we either need to go less light, or pay extra for toner.» Instead all she said was that it cost extra and proceeded to lay down some seriously lightening bleach on my locks. (A color much brighter than I came in with). I’m also annoyed that a coupon for highlights wouldn’t include toner. You’re pretty much NEVER going to lighten and not tone, so that’s lame.
She chopped off a lot more than I asked for when I said collarbone length and put in huge uneven layers so I basically got a really bad version of the 90s Rachel haircut.
She also thinned my hair with a razor and I’m now facing some serious frizz for the next oh, year or so as that grows back out. I can’t even think about it without getting really bummed out.
But the ultimate abomination was when she did the color around my face, she did the panels horizontal instead of vertical so I wound up with a huge streak of color RIGHT in the front of my face.
Unfortunately due to my complete lack of trust in the skill level of my stylist I didn’t call and ask them to redo it (why would I when she didn’t even layer my foils right) so I wound up at another salon to have the corrections. It’s still not perfect and I’m facing many months of challenges as a result of my service at Sylve. I’ll survive, but be warned on the quality you’ll get here.

Purchased a Living Social… Don’t do it! When making appointment (with owner scheduling), I was told an extra charge of $ 50 would be added on because I have thick hair! Hello… this is not a promotional special! He then told me I could «easily cancel this!» What a poor excuse for an owner and customer service!
Have certainly been to salons in the past with NO extra charge for drying thick hair. Come on!
I should have listened to the other nasty reviews from people!
There are fabulous salons out there… do NOT patronize this place!!!

Had a groupon and worked with Hong. She did a cut and quick color. She worked fast and did a seamless job on my color. I’m very picky but I was impressed that she cut my naturally curly, thick and coarse hair so beautifully. Definitely stop in and see her!

I always go here for my Brazilian blowouts (the real kind, not that crap zero treatment kind), and they’re always good and leave my hair really soft and straighter (but not too straight).

I got a Brazilian blowout here, very happy with the results. It was very easy logistically to get an appointment. I submitted through their online form and promptly received a callback to work out the details.

Permanent straightening here which was supposed to last for 4 – 6 weeks, did not last for a week!
Also their haircuts are poor and hand wavy.

I recently had a haircut with Hong and its definitely one of the best layered haircuts I’ve had for a long time! I received tons of compliments from it and in fact my friend loved my haircut so much she booked an appointment with her right away! =) I also got partial highlights & I was truly happy about the results considering I’m very picky when it comes to coloring/​cutting my hair. I wanted natural subtle highlights and she aced it!
Booking an appointment was a breeze! They even have an automated text/​email appointment reminder which was very useful specially for people like me that tends to forget hehe!
Excellent customer service as well! Coming in to the salon, she was very accommodating right away. She offered beverages and was very friendly all throughout. She cut my hair at the appropriate length/​style I wanted. She showed me tips on styling my new haircut. She even gave me some samples of L’oreal hair products instead of pushing me to buy them which I absolutely appreciate! I’ve had salon experiences before where the stylist tries to force you to buy their products, & that for me partly ruins the experience.
Overall, I highly recommend Hong if your planning to get your next haircut! Very attentive, highly skilled colorist/​stylist, I will definitely come back again!

I bought a Groupon deal for a haircut and desperately needed a shape-​up after growing out my bob. When I called them to schedule an appointment, I left a voicemail but immediately received a callback. I also had to reschedule to a different day which was no problem at all.
My appointment was at 4pm and parking wasn’t too terrible, although I can see how it can be bad at busier times during the day since you have to park on the street.
Hong cut my hair and she did a fantastic job! She was attentive and listened exactly to what I wanted. She even showed me how she styled my hair! What a sweet gal.
I had a great experience here and was impressed with the salon. The staff was very friendly and I loved my haircut. I highly recommend Hong!

Had a great experience. Had to send an email to the salon to schedule but they called me right away and had no problem finding an available appointment time. Ended up with a Brazilian from Sylve (great) and a cut a few days later with Bobbi (again, great). Hong cut my dauhgters hair and did a fantastic job as well, even going the extra mile to style it for her photos later that day. Great place, great value and great service!
Parking can be a bit tough depending on the day and time — otherwise 5 stars all the way!

Got a cut & partial highlights here. I really liked the Stylist Elizabeth, sad she left.
The only cons were getting through to the Salon, & the Parking. Otherwise a great experience. :)

What turned this from a 4 to 5 star review is that for the first time in 2 years my boyfriend complimented my bangs. Early on in our relationship I found out he was a bang hater. «I don’t like bangs» he said. «I have bangs you a-​hole» I said. I thought for sure that would eventually be the demise of our relationship. I tried to sweep them to the side, but we both knew they were still there. I felt like every time he looked at me all he could see was the wispy wrath of previous haircuts draped across my forehead. Until yesterday. «I like your bangs» he said. Disaster averted.
