Ava is the absolute best there is for thick/​curly/​unruly hair. She has been my stylist for over 10 years and I would not have it any other way!

So Finally… here it goes. This review is pending since long!!!
I consider myself lucky for finding Tigerlily and Ava! She saved me from living another day of ‘bad’ haircut. I tried few other places in Seattle but AVA IS THE BEST! What I liked most about her is she is a very good listener and that helped a lot… She spent ‘all the time in the world’ before we started, talking about what I wanted for my hair. Actually she started only after we were on same page and she completely understood how I wanted my hair to be. I showed her some pictures of how I would like my hair to look and she saw them with real care. not like just blindly see! Even during the process of cutting, she asked me to see if we were on correct path and continued until I was satisfied. She asked really good questions that led me to believe she really knows her stuff.
A good haircut really makes a BIG difference on how you look/​how you carry yourself/​how you feel and I think it brings out the BEST in you… Its like a crown you wear on your head :) I will be going to Ava again and again and again: D I cannot thank her enough because getting a good haircut was really important for me to feel good :)

Ava has been doing my hair off an on for years and no one else could possibly do it better! She’s great at helping you get exactly what you want. Tigerlily is also a lovely salon and a pleasure to spend time at.

I’ve been going to Ava for about a year and a half, and she does a great job with my difficult hair. She’s so meticulous, and doesn’t want you to leave unless/​until you love it. She even took the time to show me how to style my hair.

I agree with the other reviewers, if you’re looking for something a little cutting edge (pun intended) this is the place and Ava is your gal. She knows exactly how far to push an edgy new ‘do because she really listens.
More than that, there is a steady stream of fun and entertaining folks coming through the shop. Always good conversation going on, which isn’t always the case, is it?
I love coming here. But more to the point, I love walking out with my sweet new hair!

Been going there for several years. Ava consistently does a great job, and I always get compliments on my color! I don’t get my hair done too often, and thankfully the colors always eventually end up blending nicely with my natural color, so I go by a few months without ugly roots.
What I like about Ava is that she can be very versatile and give you exactly what you want. Need a more conservative look for a job interview? Check. Wanna try the latest ombré? Sure. Ready for crazy purple and pink unicorn hair? No problem. She really listens and tries to give you what you’re asking for, and she does a good job at making suggestions without imposing her own preferences. Price-​wise it’s a little spendy, but nothing as bad as some of the fancy salons downtown. Lots of street parking which is nice.

Haircuts don’t get any better than this. I will be going back again and again.

Ava saved me from lIving another day with hair that looked as if I were wearing a wig. From drab to fab with her magical scissors. She gave me the most fantastic feedback, listened to me and gave me hair hope. Thank you!!!

I’m in love with Ava’s mad skills, seriously in love. She is an artist with color — has taken me from a rockin’ red to perfect blonde. Best haircuts I’ve ever had — she sculpts my long curly hair to perfection each time! Countless people have said to me, «I love your hair, who does it?» My rock star, Ava does. Best advice I ever took was from my friend who first referred me. Did I mention that I LOVE her?

Ava has been cutting my hair for years. She’s overseen the growing out process from when I shaved my head all the way through to hair below my shoulders. Every single haircut has been *amazing*. And yet what does stupid me do? I let a beauty school student cut my hair one time because I wanted to support him. It was the worst cut I’d ever gotten and I shed more than a few tears afterward… Fast forward 6 months of trying to grow out the ugly cut, I went to Ava and she enthusiastically and unequivocally fixed it! I always walk away from her salon feeling like a million bucks. Bless this woman and her scissor-​y skills. I will be a customer for life.

I love Ava. She’s easy to talk to, really cares about giving the cut you want, and does it all for a more than fair price.

I must agree with all the comments. Eva is simply the best in the business. I have been coming to Eva for years, and have followed her wherever she has gone. She is incredibly well rounded in all of her skills. She is an effortless master when it comes to cuts. She is scary talented when it comes to color. But, she actually does listen to what you are saying, and can ferret out what you actually mean and want.
At times I have come in and all I can say is «fix it» (the grow out). She can cut and color my hair, exactly how I wanted it to turn out, without me even explaining what I want.
The salon is bright and inviting; no big, snooty «we are too good for you» salon vibes here. All are welcome and all are appreciated.

Personally, I’m an Ava devotee, but the other gals are super awesome as well. Ava is the MASTA at getting my cut perfect, my color spot on and the makeup, style and rest of it *jussssst* right.

Ava is simply the best thing that has ever happened to me. I found her here on Unilocal and instantly fell in love. She is the best listener of any stylist I have ever worked with. She works with you to discover what will work best and look best on you. The haircuts she has given me are amazing, and I am constantly complimented on them.
Not only is she a skilled artist, she is a master of conversation. The hours in her chair fly by as she tells you tales of mundane life made hilarious, ghosts of clients past and smatterings of trivial pop culture. The time I spend at her salon is something I always look forward to and the cut she gives me is something I cherish for 8 – 10 weeks! She is FANTASTIC!!!

Ava has been doing my hair for a few years now. She rocks! She does the best foils I’ve ever had. Lately, I’ve gone red and she worked really hard to find me just the right shade and make it perfect.
Aside from being an awesome hairstylist, Ava is a wonderful person and I am thrilled to see her making such a success of her business. The new location is beautiful.
I’ve never had one of the other stylists do my hair but I have watched Misty doing other peoples hair and been very impressed with her expertise as well.

Just thought I’d update my review, since Tigerlily has moved to a new location. Ava has now been my hair stylist for over 8 years and I am just as happy (if not happier) today about my hair as I was back then!
Loving the new location– it’s open, airy and very comfortable. Ava always greets me with a smile and continues to take the time to listen to my hair «ideas» or concerns. She’s totally passionate about what she does and she really wants you to be happy with your hair. Sometimes when I’m in a rut and just don’t have any ideas she’s got something fun up her sleeve!
It’s been really exciting watching the new salon start up– I’ve met Misty a few times and seen her in action and she is very talented too!
The location is located right in Interbay, super close to Whole Foods– so very easy to get to from Ballard, Queen Anne and Magnolia. I’m also loving the online booking– makes it very easy!

After many years with the same hairstylist, it became painfully clear that I needed to make a change. My last hair cut was a mess and I needed help.
I was referred by a friend, who has a fabulous cut, to Ava at Tigerlily.
I decided on Friday that I *had* to have my cut immediately and I was able to book, on line for an appointment the very next day! The booking software they use is clear, easy to navigate and clean. I like that.
Ava spent quite a bit of time before we started, talking about what I wanted for my hair. She asked really good questions that led me to believe she really knows her stuff. As someone who has been playing with her hair and going to salons since the Earth cooled, I can tell when someone knows what they’re doing, and Ava does.
Three days later — I love my cut, I love Ava and I love the salon. I have already recommended her to a friend. Now I recommend that you go, but not when I want to go, so be careful.

Ava’s been doing my hair for over five years and I can honestly say I’ll never go anywhere else unless I move far away or she decides to retire. She’s just an awesome person and she’s amazing at helping you to figure out exactly what you want, and then making sure it turns out right. She’s the color expert. (I should know — we’ve tried soooo many different things over the years). Especially if you want alternative colors (like blood red, or purple, or turquoise), Tigerlily is the place for you. If that’s not your thing, they also do A-​MAZING cuts. Their prices are so reasonable, and you’ll have fun, and probably the most amazing cut and color you’ll ever get. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.
About me: I have fine, curly hair and am dead-​set on bold colors. So it takes a lot of love and care and attention to give me what I want without damaging my hair. These ladies absolutely know what they’re doing and they’re committed to giving you a gorgeous head of hair.

Just got Ombré’ by the talented Ava, the owner. She is as kind as can be and by god I have never had such amazing hair. Very reasonable prices… I paid HALF of what I paid at an Aveda salon recently for medicre hair, I hair can’t recommend Tigerlily Salon enough. Although Ava may be hard to get in with, She said Misty has openings and she is amazing too.

I just received hair extensions from Misty!
I have very fine and thin hair. It has always been an insecurity of mine. Misty did a lot of research and found me the hair and color that I wanted. We did links instead of tracks because that is what I preferred.
My hair is beautiful and amazing! She showed me different ways to style it, curl it, etc. She told me how to maintain them.
I literally have gorgeous locks now and it looks so real! Misty is also cute as a button and very outgoing and friendly so it wasn’t awkward at all. I met the owner of the salon too and she was the same way! I strongly recommend this salon!
