Quiet and spacious coffee shop. I like the fact I can hear myself think and not becoming distracted while I’m doing my work. Shortbread cookies are delicious and I always have to get one when I order my coffee or tea selection. The baristas are always friendly and helpful.

Large open space with lots of light and plenty of tables to work, play games and socialize at. DELICIOUS coffee-drinks as well as a selection of other drinks. Only thing is: wish they had more in the way of food. Not a whole restaurant of course, but just some more/better pastry options as well as sweet treats and snacks. Wonderful game selection, nice location, lots of natural light! Friendly service too!

This place is awesome! They have a huge area with lots of comfortable seating and lots of room to have some privacy. I come here to do homework. They have lot is of non dairy options, free wifi, delicious pastries, and their coffee is amazing. The employees are all fantastic and make a point of conversation. When it’s nice out, they open up the floor to ceiling windows and you can sit in a lounge chair at the now non existent wall and drink delicious coffee.

I really enjoy the casual and comfy atmosphere. Their coffee is always good and they have a pretty good pastry selection as well. I strongly suggest you get some shortbread with your coffee for the a simple but delicious combination. Now I will say I am not a fan of the velvet foam, but that does not stop me from going back.

I’m a big fan of their London Fog. While I’ve tried a London Fog at other coffee shops, Uptown’s is the best one yet. The extra foam adds a little something to it that I haven’t experienced elsewhere.

Seriously? Don’t come here if you want customer service or good coffee. You will not find either — instead, you will be greeted with blank stares and rude workers who seem to think a latte with no foam and a cappuccino are one in the same. An unrinsed pitcher of resteamed milk used for a line of drink orders had me questioning their sanitation practices along with burnt shots. Pricey coffee and crappy attitudes. One star for having parking spots available out front, although now I completely understand the reason for such vacancy.

I’m not sure if this will survive once the block is torn down and rebuilt into amazon buildings. it’s large/spacious, but has no ambience what so ever. almost feels hollow. The drinks are decent but just average. No frequent visitor cards except if you prepay for 10 of the SAME drink. so if you are locked in with your order, it’s not very useful.

Meh would be an accurate description of Uptown. The space is cavernous, with a lot of tables, but it’s just not impressive in any way. The décor is awful and it’s not an inviting place to hang out with your coffee, which is a pity. It doesn’t help that the last time I stopped in here for a large cold brew, my cup was 75% ice…

I was asked to stop in for a meeting with an associate and was surprised at how rude the barista was. I was a barista some 20 years ago and feel I know both sides. Considering I used to stop in at the original uptown and enjoyed it, I was quite disappointed.

I gave them 2-stars only because of the customer service. The coffee is good but damn do the baristas kill the mood. I understand they work in the Amazon area, but sheesh. The guys are bad but for some reason the women working there are even worse. One female barista seemed like she was ready to toss me my Americano if not for the risk of burning me. I get it – your job sucks, but not everyone is responsible for that. Go for the coffee – just don’t expect leaving the place in high moods.

Looks old has a nice street view and open windows in the summer, nice atmosphere Not too much drink in my pricy cappucino though, the scones and brownies are like 4 and 2 bucks respectively…

Great taste and strength. The shop has a large open space that is airy with a nice breeze. Great for realxing, business, or games.

I was really looking forward to going to Uptown Espresso because the building is cool and retro. When you walk in, the place is cavernous. It’s HUGE! Even with big tables, it still seemed like there was a lot of dead space. Either way, I’m no interior designer, but the rest of the building was really cool, so no biggy either way. The coffee was very so-so, honestly kind of boring and not much flavor. I had to take my drink back because they were skimpy with the vanilla syrup. The barista was also so-so. Not particularly friendly, not at all rude, just meh. Overall I was disappointed. Furniture was awkward together. I sat in one of the comfy chairs by the window, and the table was too high. The place wasn’t bad, it was just really disjointed in my opinion. Finally, my biggest concern was the price. A full dollar more for the same drink here than I had paid anywhere else. I know that Amazon is all around this shop, but not all of us earn that kind of dough. I don’t know that I’ll go back here, just too many issues for the high price. If you want to see a cool coffee shop, then you should go once to see if you like it. There are too many other great coffee spots in the city for me to return to such a mediocre, expensive place.

This place is super spacious with large tables. Perfect for getting some work done! I came on a weekend so it was pretty mellow — I’m sure it would be a bit crazier on a weekday, but it was the perfect place to work all day for me.

Just another coffee shop in downtown Seattle. The interior is very spacious with high ceilings. The floor is kind of tacky with green carpet. The baristas were friendly and quick. I mainly went in to use the bathroom, but you had to make a purchase in order to use it. I decided on a chai and it was a good choice. Not sure what brand they use, but it was very tasty, not too sweet, and the barista asked if I wanted cinnamon on top. Only waited maybe a minute and my drink was ready and then I went on my way. If I am ever back in the area I would definitely come back.

Ordered the Café Generra after reading a Unilocal review. It was even better than I imagined. Choice of milk or dark chocolate and then a big hunk of orange zest thrown in before the shots are poured. The space inside is much bigger than anticipated and was very quiet during the lunch hour. The barista was a bit snobbish. If you want customers to keep coming back you really should at least try to be nice. Nothing is so fabulous that I’d be willing to endure rudeness repeatedly. However, everyone has their moments so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and return for another café generra soon.

This Uptown Espresso is located in South Lake Union close to Amazon. It is located in a corner building on Westlake. The space is huge for a coffee shop making it a good spot to work or study from. The interior is old fashioned which is in contrast to all of the new modern buildings near here. If you are looking for a sleek coffee shop, this spot ain’t it. The coffee line is just for that. I ordered a latte here and wanted an almond croissant. But since the pastries are located next to the register, you have to ask the cashier that you want something from the case. The latte was nice with the velvet foam that Uptown is known for. The croissant was alright. Price was reasonable, but the taste was a bit so so. But perfectly fine for a morning nibble. If you need a large space to work or study from in SLU with good coffee, Uptown Espresso is the best spot for this mission. Though you will need to ignore the décor which ain’t pretty.

Caffe Generra!!! That is what I order every time. It’s a mocha with an orange peel. It’s so good. Uptown is probably my favorite coffee shop chain around here. Their espressos are good; they know how to make good coffee here.

I go to Uptown almost every day. I walk past two Starbucks to do it. For one thing, I am a sucker for double 8 oz lattes and Starbucks charges for an extra shot in a short. Two shots are, of course, standard at Up Town(and every other respectable coffee shop in town). Uptown delivers on consistently good coffee and I personally love the velvet foam. If you don’t, they’ll kindly leave it off for you. I see people slap lids onto the foam immediately after grabbing their drinks, which is a shame. Keep the lid off for the first few sips — you won’t regret it! I don’t care about the people complaining about mochas because I don’t care about mochas. I don’t care about the green carpet because I grab my coffee and go. I love the window walls that are open wide on nice mornings in the summer. I will say I’m disappointed that their pastries are gradually getting smaller and smaller… smaller cookies, smaller cinnamon rolls, smaller scones. Bummer. The raspberry scone is my current favorite. Lastly, their coffee cards are a deal. Prepay for 10 drinks, get 2 free. Downside is that you must order the same drink every time. Upside is that these baristas have incredible memories and know so many different regulars and semi-regulars’ drink orders(although you might find them to have the typical Seattle barista«stand-offish» attitude if you don’t come in often… not sure). Also, you can use the card at any location(or, at least in Belltown). Regardless, I can’t make the trek to Vivace on a daily basis(too far) and I think the velvet foam is nice. Five stars for Uptown! No one should let bad mocha reviews and green carpet hate come in between them and this place.
