Vital Tea Leaf

They are by far the quality tea you can find in Washington state, there’s one more place in China town but this one is my favorite. The quality, the blending, the technique, and the strength of the tea leaves are the by far the best. They carry tea from of the highest elevations in Taiwan. If you love REAL tea then you’ll find appreciation in this little gem. The prices are extremely fair.

A wonderful break from busy downtown Seattle. From the moment I walked in it felt felt like I was no longer in the heart of some busy major city, but more like I was in someone’s home and they welcomed me into their tea room. It’s very calming, the décor is interesting and reinforces the feeling of being somewhere else. The day we went there were two young men who were incredibly knowledgeable and very helpful. Along the full length of one wall it is lined with various teas of all kinds from all places. I’m not a tea connoisseur and I still really enjoyed the experience.

I had a unique experience sampling teas here. It looks super authentic and their steeping methods are different and reminded me of benihanas of tea. One lady… I think the owner was super sweet and charming. She knew a lot about the teas and was open to sharing her knowledge of tea.
Ended up getting the coconut tea and stevia which was amazing. The chrysanthemum tea cake in a close second!
I would recommend this place for any avid tea drinker.

My family traveled to Seattle for vacation in July. We spent a lot of time at Pike’s Market. I could not believe the heat you guys had; as a Texan I went to get some relief from the heat. Not this time in Seattle; record highs when we were there, wow. My husband and I managed to make our way to Vital Tea Leaf; I wanted him to try the «tea sipping» experience as I had the year before.
We sat down at the «tea bar» and were served by two very knowledgeable ladies. We told them what our interest in teas was and tasted the teas based on their recommendations. We purchased an 8 year old Pu-​erh cake also known as Imperial Yunnan; ($ 80.00) Pu-​erh is a variety of fermented and aged dark tea produced in Yunnan province, China. This tea under goes a complex process of gradual fermentation and matures with time. How do I know this you ask? We were educated by the staff at vital Tea Leaf.
We were also told that one of the health benefits of this tea is that it has shown effects on antioxidant, anticancer, lowering cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar, and improving bacterial flora in the intestines.
Well it has been five months; we were out of tea so I decided to check out the online version of this product; and I was tempted by a 20% offer in my inbox. So I paid $ 64.00 with tax and with that tea I received a wonder thank you note and 9 samples to try. I absolutely was blown away by the free stuff and the sincerity of this place and the people.
I need to add that my husband had his cholesterol checked and it has gone down to an acceptable level; the tea along with proper diet and exercise was the reason I’m sure.

Vital Tea Leaf is wonderful. I pick up hubby’s favorite loose leaf here once in awhile and always get to try new teas. The ladies running it are pretty great. They’ve got a nice variety and they keep the tastings interesting.

It is one of my favorite tea places as they serve the best tea. They also take the reasonable prices. It seems me as the charm ful. Here the tea is so delicious also the tasty to you.

This oasis of serenity, cater-​cornered (kitty-​corner) from the Art Museum, across from the Four Seasons and steps from the end-​of-​Union-​St overlook where one can admire Eliot Bay and the Great (Ferris) Wheel to the West toward sunset, is a welcome respite from the hurly-​burly.
The tearoom with its tasting counter, overlooking the street, has been well reviewed. After tasting, however, I like to browse the other half of the store, across the hallway to the West. There are charming tea sets with miniature cups along with modern glass pots and glasses and a beautiful and unique tea tasting furniture set near the window where I like to sit and read from The Clouds Should Know Me By Now; Buddhist Poet Monks of China (Red Pine). There are no glaring SALE posters or even prices in evidence lending the shop a peace and calm in contrast to the noisy and popular Pike Brewing Company just up the ramp. If you’re interested in reading Chia Tao, Ch’i-chi or others, come on over and sit on one of the stump-​seats. I’m the one wearing the «Toledo» hat.

My girlfriend and I stumbled into this place on the afternoon of 10Aug2015, and sampled 3 teas. The women working here could not have cared less about us or the other 2 customers. When asked questions about the teas, the women seemed to act annoyed by having to answer. Because of her behavior we decided not to buy anything, but thanked her for the samples, which she completely ignored without replying. What a joke. Maybe she should drink a tea that relaxes the stick in her a**.

Great selection of teas. I was impressed with the types of green and loose leaf teas they’ve had. They mostly focus on a traditional array of teas. Customer service was friendly. Prices were very reasonable. We had a to go selection of a green tea.

We were walking to the all famous Pike Place Market and discovered this place. Free tea tasting and no obligation to buy. What a service! I’m a tea lover. We were welcome to smell all the tea they had to offer. I found the yellow tea I have not seen at other tea places. We sat down at the table, requested to try the yellow tea. While making the tea, the guy showed me how to make the tea right. We tried a few more and decided to get the yellow tea. The tea quality is decent, the price is reasonable. The experience was exceptional, more than just the tea itself.

Stumbled on this place while walking downtown, went inside out of curiosity.
The lady in the front offered to let us sample a bunch of different tea leaves, which was really cool and I knew which tea I would like.
I ended up picking 6 different tea leaves, they have like hundreds to choose from!
I love tea so I will be coming back for more!

The ladies that work here always provide great service. They do tea tastings for free here so you can always try a tea before you buy it.
My husband is addicted to their Blue People ginseng oolong tea. He’s tried other ginseng oolong teas but prefers this one. The leaves are sold loose at $ 120 per pound. They sell prepackaged 4 oz. bags for $ 30 and 8 oz. prepackaged at a discount of $ 45, I can’t help but cringe every time we go to get a refill of the tea because the 8 oz. container only lasts about two weeks. Their 8oz. for $ 45 deal is not offered on their website and I really wish it was because driving/​parking down in this area is a huge pain in the butt.
I am weary about the lack of information about the origin, growing/​handling practices of the tea and the ginseng, the type of ginseng in the tea, etc… but that probably means I’ve been living in Seattle for far too long.

I used to walk by this place often and popped in a few times. I LOVE LOVE that they serve you sample tasting cups — this is very wonderful of them. I used to drink «Blue People» all the time a few year ago but haven’t been in for a while.
I will plan to re-​visit soon and try a few more and expand my review then.

This was my first visit to Vital T-​Leaf on Tuesday 10÷14÷14.
This was the spontaneous meeting spot after my lunch with former colleagues and my husband’s job interview, Vital T-​Leaf right at the corner of 1^st and Union. Your landmarks are Japonessa, Seattle Art Museum, Fran’s Chocolate and Four Seasons Hotel.
I was told that they have been at this site for about eight years by the kind and enthusiastic woman behind the wrap around counter. The counter had various tea accessories — like the ornate trays where the teas were prepared. I spent about 45 minutes getting a crash course on various Asian teas and their health benefits My husband said the party that just left, as I sat down, was Dave Chappelle. The Asian woman said he and his entourage were staying at the Four Seasons. Being that he had some scheduled shows in downtown Seattle — I had a near celebrity encounter.
So despite having a stomach full of tagliatelle ragu bolognese from nearby Vespolina and Fran’s rich hot chocolate earlier, I was pleasantly surprised at how the various brewed teas eased that overstuffed feeling, very calming.
There was tea in giant dried cakes and oose tea in large glass bottles that lined one wall. I carefully observed the particular brewing-​steeping technique and then final service in tiny cups. The overall experience was very fascinating. Here’s what I was served:
1) Blue People — an oolong ginseng blend that’s good for the brain clarity.
2) Rose and Ozmentis (sp?) — no caffeine, good for the complexion
3) Puerh — very earthy, good for detoxification, digestion, hypertension, and diabetes
4) Blue Tea with Gemacha — good when one has a cold or sinus issues
5) Pineapple green tea with Stevia
6) Strawberry tea with Stevia
7) Puerh with Hibiscus
8) Puerh with Mandarin
Our parking meter was soon to expire again, so I asked how much did we owe her. I was shocked to learn that all of those samples and refills plus education were free. Never was there any hard sell. Heck if it wasn’t for the meter, probably could have sampled even more! However, I’ve been needed some brain clarity, so I ended up buying a canister of Blue People.

If you need some much needed chill time from the hectic urban pace, I highly recommended Vital T-​Leaf.

I was across the street having sushi when I saw a sign that said free tea tasting. Well twist my arm! I walked over there and was invited to look around. I was interested in older ripe puerh (they didn’t have any raw puerh yesterday). I also enjoy oolong tea. I was able to try multiple teas. Mei is very friendly and knowledgeable. Excellent customer service. I love the Monkey Pick tea I bought. Thank you! When I am back in that area I will definitely be back.

I got to experience a semblance of a tea ceremony (anyone who has been here, and actually seen a real tea ceremony might laugh at this, but whatever) when my boyfriend took me here. I’m open to various kinds of tea including smoky, bitter, and sweet flavors, but I was really craving something sweet. Since the wall is lined with over 40 shelved l teas, I left it up to the woman at the counter to surprise me.
She was a bit terse, but knowledgeable and presented flavors such as plum, coconut and pineapple. We sampled 5 cups of different kinds, but the pineapple green tea was so delicious I bought $ 10 worth. I had to get an infuser as soon as I got back home to have another cup.

«Do you have Iced Tea?» That is what I said when I walked in to Vital T Leaf last Saturday.
They don’t.
What they do have is amazing tea and knowledge about tea, it’s history and it’s uses. I was surprised to learn that I did not know how to properly prepare tea. Guess what peeps? Tea, when done correctly, steeps for 30 seconds. Yep, that is ½ a minute. No more tea bags or tea strainers for me.
I walked out with the coolest little «Eazy Cup» — a tea filter, tea pot and drinking glass all in one thingamajig. From one tablespoon of tea I’ve made at least 4 cups of delicious tea today. I just had to share my good fortune with my coworkers.
I also left with a few different types of tea; One for calming and lowering anxiety, another for general well being and the last for energy.
When you go, plan to enjoy an exploration as well as a tasting. Allow some time. Go alone or take a friend or a group of friends. The tasting bar seats at least 10. Tea will be freshly prepared in front of you and served in a thimble sized tea cup. I’d liken the experience to a good wine tasting, sans the alcohol buzz.
The tasting is complimentary but I must warn you that you will want to take goodies home so be prepared to drop some cash or exercise some plastic. They were offering a special discount — spend more than $ 100, get 15% off. Don’t ask me how I know that (wink, wink.)

If you’re a tea fan, or even if you’re not, stop on by! They do free tastings, which is really fun. The ladies who work here are SUPER sweet, informative and funny. They have every tea you can fathom for any cure imaginable. Pretty sure I heard them say they have the cure for stupidity in one of their teas :) kidding.
In all honesty, they have a cute little store and little stools and a counter for tastings. They brew all different teas and serve you a little sampling of each. Then talk to you about whats in it, and what it does for you body. Pretty interesting stuff. I think I sampled 10 – 15 types of tea that day. I’m not a big tea drinker, but I enjoyed doing the tasting and I left with a little bag of lavender tea and stevia leaves.

If you’re a big tea fan — then Vital T Leaf should be visited when in Seattle. As I was walking around aimlessly in the Pike Place Market (people watching), I stumbled past this place. It looked pretty legit and authentic.
I took a seat alongside some folks that were participating in the tea tasting. The lady the presented different samples of teas to us (until I found one that I liked). After a handful of samples, I left proudly with a small bag of BLUE TEA (the ingredient on the package is GREEN TEA boasting health benefits for decompression and relaxation).
